Speaking of Author's Notes That Usually Mean Good Things, I've noticed that if an author's note opening an omegaverse fic goes like "I never thought I'd be writing omegaverse, but here we are! Sorry if I got any of the worldbuilding details wrong!" that usually means good things for the fic ahead. Maybe there's something about the author finding a few aspects of the verse enticing enough to overcome general omegaverse squick that tends to play nicely with my id.

On the other hand, I'm constantly amused that some of these author's notes have this tone of like, Please Don't Be Upset That I Wrote Omegaverse Wrong. Honestly, no two interpretations are the same! There is no Correct Omegaverse Rules! Jeez.

came back wrong trope but the character knows that they came back wrong. they’re so acutely aware of how different they are now from how they were before that it drives them fucking insane. they’re stuck trying to return to somebody that’s long dead. they can never be the person they once were. everybody around them knows it. deep down, they know it too, but they’re trapped in a cycle of their own making. of trying to revive someone that no longer exists.
