it is 100× easier to accept that something isn't real/going to hurt you when you are not actively fearing for your life and safety. "there are evil things after you and you are trying to stay alive? yeah those aren't real" great I'm still terrified and fighting for my life, now I just can't find support from you.

things people have done to help me during a psychoses episode

i was on the buss and i hallucinated bugs crawling all over my hands, so my friend pulled my hoodie sleeves over them with permission and held my hands through the sleeves to "keep them off". they used the logic you would in a real bug situation.

i went nonverbal in a bad one in class, so my friend wrote me a note to give to the nurse since the teacher wouldn't let her go with me.

i often am very paranoid about the delusion that meat is actually rotten, so my dad will sometimes eat a bit of it before me

instead of telling me my delusions arent real, they help me through it using logic like it was real. they dont tell me that nothings going to hurt me in my sleep, they stay with me to keep me safe. then when it passes i can realize its not real

i saw this helpful print out at my local library earlier, i thought this could be of help to someone. even if you don't inject, this advice could save a life. I'm here for all addicts and users, we care about you and love you. everyone deserves to be informed about their health regardless of what substances they use

I like mountains a lot but I'm kinda happy I live somewhere flat (illinois, hope you had a good visit) because I am able to go to forest preserves and parks and stuff and hike without having a super hard time with the incline and my mobility aids. if you asked me this when I was a kid though I would go on a tangent about how I want to live ON a mountain

okay bear with me here but i went to illinois last week and one part of the experience has stuck with me

this is, of course, ignoring things like current weather, time of day, your current ability to physically go outside, etc…. answer based on what you consider would be your optimal mountain viewing conditions on a day to day basis 👍

adrenaline is very very strange, I once got in a fight and didn't realize that I had a very bad stab wound in my leg until after I ran out of there

is it weird that breaking my leg didn't initially hurt?

it just felt like a shocking impact (similar to a soccer ball hitting you in the face), but then it was fine. like I couldn't walk on it, but I wasn't super bothered until maybe 5 minutes later, and then it was like WOW there's something wrong here!
