Are you still alive? *pokes*
Yes, I’m still alive. I’m not really active, but I decided I need to get back to writing. So yes. Alive. And well. And still madly in love with Benn ;-)

“Chicken curry with a twist it is then.” He smiled brightly, before getting started. In the kitchen the was a magician, cutting vegetables and meat so precise and fast that it was a wonder he didn’t cut himself. The knives were sharp and well taken care off.
“I’ll tell you some, if you share a bit too.” He looked at Benn with a happy smile on his face. “Well, I’ve been doing really good and I got lucky. The person I love and whom I feared to tell, does in fact share my feelings and we’re together. Sometimes I should listen to the advice I give others.”
A chuckle left him, as his eyes returned to the cooking. “It’s great though. To be with him and know that I’m loved, even if my pranks doesn’t set well with him. We balance each other well, according to Izo.” He hummed and felt his heart ache a little, missing his love. “Who would have thought the mighty Phoenix would fall for a cook like me?”
“I’m looking forward to it,” Benn mused as he watched Thatch cut the vegetables and the meat. Just by watching Benn knew it would be delicious.
“Of course, I share.” He chuckled. Not that there was much change to the Redhair Pirates. He was still busy keeping his captain aka best friend aka lover in line, managing to not let the crew hurt themselves and plotting the course. Oh and this mission he had been on, but by now Benn was actually on his way back home.
Yet, he assumed Thatch had more to tell, going by his smile. And the more Benn listen the more his expression changed into shock and then into a bright smirk. Marco the phoenix, the famous first mate and his happy, cheery Thatch. What an interessting match. But he was happy for the other.
“Congratulations,” he said earnestly and then stood to give Thatch a brief hug, trying to avoid his hands and the counter. “Marco, mmh? I always thought he’s straight to business, but people say that about me as well, so I guess I shouldn’t judge. Tell me about it. I wanna hear details.”

She beamed at him, shaking his hands up and down lightly with hers in her excitement. “Well, dunno about the weather, but I can assure you there will be good wind whenever you take me.” The smile was almost cheeky, but it was too much of an easy joke not to make.
“Does it have a lyric? Would you sing it for me, please? Please?”
Leading Shia inside the Red Force, Benn mused at her joke. They’d rarely asked the girl to help with her ability, they were able to handle the weather just finde. Also, honestly, Shanks and the rest of the lot didn’t really mind where they went. As long as they went. Letting the wind decide which island to visit next. Like real pirates supposed to do, or so Shanks always said.
“Well, just use your abilities without letting us know and you’ll reach Melodia sooner than later.” He opened the door to the inside, pressing the switch for the light. “It does have lyrics, but it’s a duet. So you have to help me singing.”
It was a lovesong in a way, sung by the first couple living and forming the island.

spottedsoftpaws:
Eyes closing a bit as he felt the curious hands, or were they more greedy? He didn’t mind that, these fingers, these hands belonged to Benn. That was all he needed to know, and that was something he was pretty sure he would always know. Even if he might stay there one day without his eyesight. His wings slowly moved a bit more, fluttering nearly a little as he hears these words. How he already wanted to tease him, to nibble at the fingers on his lips. That is if Benn hadn’t pulled him in for a kiss, a kiss he hummed into in surprise. Surprise that changed into something softer and glad, as his arms moved around the older one.
If he had still doubted that this was Benn, now he was very sure that it was him. Starting to slightly push him a bit back, till he would have the door behind his back. Making sure that nobody would disturb them as one hand moved away from Benn’s body, the sweet heat he didn’t wish to lose so soon again. But he had to, fingers moving the key, a slight klick following, then they were on his other half again. All this time he would not dare to break the kiss, not dare to part from the sweet lips. Mumbling now, even more, the words that he had missed him when they both took a chance for some air in between.
Benn chuckled into the kiss when he felt Lucci push him back against the door. Someone had definitely missed him as well, no words needed for it no matter Lucci murmured them against his lips. Benn knew. The kiss told everything about it. What had started soft went more heated and urgent and Benn let Lucci. Let him press him backwards, let him close the door and lock it. Only when air forced them to part, he took the change to really look at the other. Look at his face, the soft eye,s the form he knew so well.
Lucci stood between his legs, he himself leaning against the door, his wings close to his back, while Lucci’s stood out and fluttered slightly. A sign he was nervous and aroused. It made Benn grin.
His hands moved up and down Lucci’s hips, never leaving him, never letting go of the contact he had missed so badly. Pulling him even closer, Benn murmured against Lucci’s lips “I take it you’re glad I’m back.” It was a tease, but he felt giddy and happy and unable to hold back those silly words. His fingers sneaked under Lucci’s shirt, not going far, just wanting to feel skin on skin, feel his heat. Feel him.

He placed himself behind the small counter, owning the small kitchen just by him being there. “Well, if I’m not wrong you like things a little spicy, so what about some nice chicken dish with lot of balanced spices? I could make a good steak or stew. Though if you prefer fish, I can do that too. As said, I just restocked.”
There was a lot of options and he wasn’t sure what he wanted to make. Besides, his guest should have the honor of deciding. As chef, he made the plan for the months dinner on the ship, so it was nice when others would decided now and then. On this mission he hadn’t once decided what to make, as the three others had been excited to decide.
While waiting for an answer, he found tools that he would need whatever Benn decided to have. While the kitchen was smaller than usual, he still looked graceful and at home. It was clearly that this was his element.
No matter the kitchen, no matter how small or big, the moment Thatch stood behind the working counter he owned it. The only other person Benn knew who managed that was Roo. The two together cooking would make a wonderful team. Or so Benn believed.
Given the decision Benn’s mouth watered at the options. It also amazed him that Thatch knew what he liked. He really did pay attention. “Spicey sounds good. How about a chicken curry or something like it? Chicken sounds good anyways.”
He had ate seafood the last few days, due to being on sea and not having made landfall till the day before yesterday. Not that Benn minded. He liked fish, but he liked something different from time to time as well.
While he watched Thatch prepare his toold, Benn made himself comfortable, watching. “So do tell, how’ve you been since last I saw you? Anything I have to know?”

She hugged him fiercely, pressing her face into his shoulder, and reveling in the warmth of the hug. She was always driven mad worried when he was away, but it only made the reunions better.
The girl smiled brightly, bouncing on her heels as she listened intently to his explanation.
“An island packed with musicians? That sounds great!” That meant music up and down, day and night, that for sure. And so so many songs and stories. “You can’t just say that and leave me like this! You have to take me there someday, now!” She joked lightly, poking his chest with her finger. She was smiling like crazy and talking even more so, but she was just too happy not to.
Her words made Benn chuckle lightly. Of course Shia would like it. Had there ever been any doubt? Not really.
“It was great,” he replied and then slipped his hand into hers, lacing their fingers. “And of course I will. They would be delighted to meet you. It’s not too far away. A weeks travel maybe? Depends on the weather,” he told her and then tugged her with him starting to walk.
“I want to hear you play. Come on, I ordered Howard to stash the notes on top of the piano.”

Slowly blinking he took some seconds to realise that there was someone standing. And not just anyone but the one he had missed for so long. Blinking again, his eyes got a bit bigger. “Benn?” he asked with nearly no voice, his wings moving even slightly as he was still sitting on the chair.
A part of him fearing that he had overworked himself by now, managed to get hallucinations of his beloved. He knew at least that this wasn’t a trick of any other fairy here, having this in mind he slowly stood up. Tilting his head still in disbelieve, as he felt that he was still good awake. That he was not overworked this much to have such things before his eyes.
Stepping to him, around the desk, he still looked at him with curious eyes. It felt good, seeing him again nearly smelling him even. Feeling the powers that he knew from him. Just to stop before Benn and looking slightly up, this little part he hadn’T missed. Being smaller than him even by just a tiny little bit! He couldn’t help but smile softly, feeling how his heart nearly made jumps in his chest. “Welcome back my dear…” he whispered then, feeling that his voice was not as loud as he wished it to be.
It made him anxious how slowly Lucci moved, as if he couldn’t believe Benn stood where he stood. As if he couldn’t believe Benn was real. And maybe he really couldn’t, given the astonishment in his eyes and the staggering movements. The tiny steps, the way Lucci look up at him with such reverence. The blood in his veins pumped and pumped through his veins and yet time wasn’t stopping or moving out of it’s way. No, it flew like usual and still, Lucci stood before him, looking at him. Benn’s fingers twitched.
Then there were soft spoken words and they send a shudder down Benn’s spine. My dear... so he was still Lucci’s dear. He was still Lucci’s dear! It shook him and then it made him smile. Smile and smile and smile. Lifting his hands, he crossed the final distance between them and softly stroked over Lucci’s lips, feeling the soft beard under his skin.
“God I missed you,” he said and then, not being able to hold this back any longer he pulled Lucci in by his coat and pressed his lips on his, tasting his mouth, taking him in. Finally coming home.

“Yup she is and she’s just as plain as simple as it can be for an incognito ship. She travels fast and is easily to maneuver all by your self. The kitchen is small, but manageable.” It was a little smaller as his private kitchen on the Moby Dick, though it was perfect for the small boat.
He gestured Benn to follow him back to the harbor. The ship looked like an ordinary fisher boat, but she was strong, which a seasoned sailor or a shipwright could tell. The flag was dark blue with a few small seagulls. Could be mistaken for an undercover marine ship, which was the main reason for the flag.
“Look at this beauty. The only thing I miss is Oyaji’s mark, but as we need to be incognito we can’t show it.” He walked onto it, his men was somewhere in town. Leading Benn inside to the kitchen-dinning area it was clear the boat was truly for a few people. Three doors let further into boat. “That one is for the bathroom, that for navigation and the third to the sleeping quarters. Sadly I don’t have much space for food, but that’s not the point with this ship.”
It wasn’t far to the harbor and even from afar Benn could see which had to be the Solar Life. For an ordinay person it must look like any other ship, but Benn saw the differences. The rump was smaller than that of a fisherman’s boat which would make it faster and more swift. The wood was sturdy and well cared for. It was a good choice. But he hadn’t expected anything else from the Whitebeard Pirates.
Following Thatch on board, Benn eyed the small boat. It was for three, four people max but it was enough. The inside was as neat as the outside. Well cared for and tidy. He nodded at Thatch’s word.
“I can see what you mean,” he replied and run his fingers against the planks. It felt cool under his fingers. “I would hate to sail without the Redhair Pirate’s Jolly Roger. Must be a strange feeling.” He himself hadn’t ever sailed without the risen flag of Shanks’, but he knew certain missions needed it. Not that he would pry. It was none of his business. He rather looked forward to the food.
Placing himself on a stool, he opted for letting Thatch do the cooking. He was way better at it than himself anyway. “So what’s for dinner?”
#thatchtheawesomecook#[yup like that idea as well#I always let Benn use a smaller boat as well#when he's alone on a mission]

Duty had called him. Benn knew it would happen sometime, soon. He had anticipated Shanks sending him for a mission, a mission that would take longer than just a day or two, and yet, when it happened, Benn hadn’t been able to prepare properly for it. He had believed he would be fine - without him. Had believed he would manage. And yet, the first days, the first weeks had been hell. In all his life - which was a rather long one, given fairys lived for longer than most other beings - he’d never felt so lonely then during this mission being away from him.
But now, as he was back, after almost four months, something like dread filled him. How would Lucci react to him being back. Where four months enough to make the other realize what it meant to be with him. Benn. One of the closest of the summer prince? He gulped the fear down.
It didn’t help to imagine and wonder. Only meeting his beloved would tell what the distance had done to their relationship.
Silently Benn pushed open the door to the office, and despite the low simmering fear a smile slipped on his lips when he saw Lucci with his head on the desk, obviously tired and annoyed of all the paperwork. Benn could only see his back and yet something ... something started to simmer in his stomach. God how he had missed him.
He gulped and then lowly, way too quiet, whispered “Hello Lucci.”
@benn-beckman

His mood hadn’t been the best in months by now, so long that he had to wait for a certain someone to come back. A huff escaped him, amber eyes moving over the paperwork in front of him.
It felt like fighting a never ending fight with this damn stuff, just like that he finished one thing and two or more came instead. How was this creature called again by the humans? A hydra right? A deep sigh left his lips, the head flopping onto the paperwork. Maybe he should stop for today, which was by now surely again a night. If not he might end up coming back in a bad mood again.
A bad mood that was not just because of all the paperwork, he was missing someone dear to him. Slowly he shook his head his hand going through his hair as he sat up properly again. Had the door moved just now? Where his sleepy eyes just playing tricks?

Benn caught Shia midjump, taking her weight easily as she wrapped her form around him for a thight hug. He tried to give as good as he got, nuzzling her hair and taking in her scent. His heart ached with fondness and a bittersweet longing that finally was fullfilled again. Oh how he had missed her.
Then, after a while, he lowered her back on her own two feet, smiling brightly.
“Woooow, woow, one question after another,” he tried to calm her down, knowing it wouldn’t help anyway. He just knew her too well. “It’s from an autum island called Melodia. It’s a relatively small island but you would have loved it anyway. The whole island is filled with musical people. The song I got you tells the story of their eldest and how the main village was formed.”
The people had been very friendly and open when they had found out that his daughter was a musician. He couldn’t deny he had bragged about Shia a little. Apparently every musican was welcome in Melodia.
"Hello Darling, I'm back," Benn smiled when he saw Shia pounce up and down and run towards him. He'd been on a longer mission by himself and had missed his family madly. Now, being back on the Red Force, he felt a thousand years younger. He also had a present for his daughter. "I found some notes. A wonderful song from an island I stayed on. Thought you'd like that."
“Bennie!!” She didn’t even bother slowing down before jumping on him, full on tackle-hug. It was a luck she was so light, or else they would have both gone straight to the ground.

“A song? For me? You didn’t have to! Does it have a story? Where did you hear it? You have to tell me everything! Oh, I’m so glad you’re back.”

thatchtheawesomecook:
The smile never left his lips, as he hugged the other back shortly. How long had it been since they last ran into each other like this? Too long he thought. Not that it mattered much, as friends could go for a long while without contact and still be friends.
“Well my cooking is usual a lot better than most, so that’s understandable.” Modesty wasn’t really his strong side when it came to cooking, but then again he was a rather well seasoned and experienced cook. Not many cooks in the restaurants had experience with various dishes as he had. Sailing the seas sure had giving him a unique opportunity as chef.
“I’m never bothered with cooking, especially not for friends and I love cooking for those appreciating my food. I just restocked on the Solar Life. I and few men are just scouting these seas, so we can go to my ship and I’ll cook you something.”
One of the things Benn loved about Thatch was his sunny nature and the fact that no matter how much time passed, it never felt awkward to meet again. Not many had this ability to ignore the changes time brought and focus on what always stayed the same. Thatch however did.
“That actually sounds amazing,” he replied to the offer and then rose an eyebrow. “The Solar Life? S’ that the your new ship? I heard of it. You have to give me a tour.”
Rumors about the actions of the other Emporer’s Crews made their rounds easily and such as new ships traveled especially fast. Most of the bigger pirate crews had smaller ships for solo missions. The Red Hair pirates had several to be honest. Benn in fact travled with the Mini Red right now.

He didn’t actually know if Thatch owned him a meal. Probably? Somehow? Now that Thatch had offered, Benn wouldn’t admit he had no idea. So he only shrugged as he waited for the Whitebeard Pirate to come closer. Good he hadn’t eaten lunch already.
“I’m sure you do,” Benn replied when Thatch was in a hearing distance and then tugged the other into a brief welcome hug. After all he was one of the closer friends of the suppossed enemy crew that were the Whitebeard Pirates. Suppossed. In reality they were on a truce and some of their members even friends. As Thatch and him.
“I take your cooking over eating out all the time. But only if it doesn’t bother you.”
He sees the brown hair from afar and a big smile spreads across his face. Aiming, he throws the apple in his hand into the air twice, before he throws it with power towards the cook's head. "Oy' doesn't one certain cook still owe me a meal?" he shouts shortly before the apple hits.
@benn-beckman
He’d been walking in his own thoughts and barely registered the words from the familiar voice. It was first when the apple hit him, did his mind click and after a huff, he turned, picking up the apple. After dusting it off, he took a bite and grinned at Benn. “Now what a surprise. Do I really owe you a meal? Home cooked or do you want to eat out?” He smiled, as he walked towards the other.
