Sorry for the slight hiatus, yall :(. Trying to get through the next 8 days before i sign off my ship and go home, lots of family stuff happening at the same time has put me in a weird spot. here’s what’s coming, even if it’s gonna take awhile :)

christmas is hard. and it's not even the buying gifts part or decorating the house with tinsel and popcorn on string or the cooking all day until the ham's just right and the turkey's juicy. no. it's the lonely part. the sitting in the single chair in the corner as couples take turns to peck each other on the lips under the mistletoe i pricked my thumb on nearly fifty times to set right. the egg nog doesn't do it's job either other than to give me a ridiculous mustache upon my upper lip.

you may wonder why i'm so bitter. the kill joy of the happiest, gayest, wonderful..est- time of the year. well- i'm unsure either. i just remember that at the ripe age of 14, when i didn't receive a certain gift under the tree the year after my grandfather's passing was when i stopped believing. christmas carols are empty. the movies are no fun. i just grab a plate of my hardwork and eat til my stomach fills the void of an empty heart.

then the jarring sound of another chair scrapes against the floorboards. my eyes narrow and roll. i huff....

"ho-ho-ho...merry—"

"not now, michael. can't you see me that i am being swallowed whole by holiday depression?"

"well- now that you mention it..."

michael. a guy i met about two weeks ago and honestly the man reeks of christmas cheer. he smells like sugarcookies and hot chocolate. natural rosy tint to his skin. if i didn't know any better i'd say he thought himself to be saint nicholas himself. but i'd be lying to say i didn't find that bit of him charming... in a sense. he is good with the kids in town and generally just an amazing guy to speak with. i'm a bit hard headed and i feel bad for being an ass to him 98% of the time we interact but it's best to keep him at a good arm's length away.

"i got you a gift.." "i told you not to-" "i don't care. open it." "you're a pain." "so are you."

"michael..." "i know. merry christmas."

to any other person, it's a simple teddy bear. but to me, it is everything. a chocolate bear. made to smell of cocoa beans no matter how many turns in the wash. it had fell in popularity by the mid-late 50s and production stopped. it was very hard to get one as many deemed it not a worthy buy. but i wanted it, very very badly.

i sniffed it, at first very tenderly and then deeply. before i knew it my arms were wrapped around michael's neck like a vice. peppering his face with kisses of gratitude and i felt a sudden wash of guilt for not getting him anything. before i could say anything he shook his head and somewhere in my heart, i knew he was dismissing my unspoken worries and they settled themselves away.

"you already would give me a perfect gift."

i tilted my head, the bear still clutched to my chest between us. he looked up and so did i. in his hand, between his fingers was a small mistletoe. i playfully hit his leg.

"oh haha, my gift should be a kiss?" "it'd make my holiday... and probably the rest of my life too..."

𝒜s most in beacon county would eventually learn, that night marked recently-elected sheriff NOAH STILINSKI’s life forever. when he returned to the hospital where his wife was residing at the end of his shift, it was already too late: his son was sitting in the hallway, head in his hands. and he knew. he knew that death had welcomed her with open arms, gently pulling her away from the demons she had been fighting for months. ready to put an end to the excruciating misery she lived in. claudia stilinski was gone.

but did she refuse the invite? absolutely not. it was the very last day of winter break before the new school semester. might as well enjoy the little freedom she had left. and what better way to do so than spending her precious time with the two idiots she’d been stuck with since the fourth grade? 

so, naturally, she followed her best friends into the trees without expecting anything life-changing — just a cold, adrenaline-fueled, maybe even weirdly fun night out. 

what she didn’t expect, by the time she finally collapsed onto her bed — trying to fall asleep instead of overthinking about the excruciatingly awkward conversation with stiles’s dad about why the hell they were alone in the woods at night, of all places — was for scott to show up at school the next day with a giant, purple-shaded bite mark blooming across his stomach. 

or that it was exactly the same mark she had drawn, absentmindedly, in her favorite sketchbook just a few hours before the boys came tapping at her bay window. 

however strange it was, though, she chose to brush it off. she wasn’t a psychic, after all. it had to be just a coincidence. 

but she'd soon realize nothing was ever a just coincidence in BEACON HILLS.

author's note . . . hi hi welcome to my first very own official dr intro ever !!!!
