I finally realized that it wasn’t Starfleet that I was trying to get away from. I was trying to escape the pain I felt, after my wife’s death. I thought I could take the uniform, wrap it around the pain and toss them both away. But it doesn’t work like that. Running may help for a little while, but sooner or later the pain catches up with you, and the only way to get rid of it is to stand your ground and face it.

He's sure she will. Without thought, his baseball effortlessly finds its way into his hands. "Any last minute reservations?"

"Commander, I wanted to talk to you about the new crew rotations"

"Why don’t you join me in my office." 

[bensisko]

He'd had the chance to review it the night previous. There were only two things that caught his attention. "You might want to check with Dr. Bashir. To make sure Ensign Vilix'pran is ready to return to cargo inspection. It might be a little early. Also, Crewman Kin broke two of his three legs this morning. Odo, I'm sure, will have suggestions on a suitable substitute."

"Commander, I wanted to talk to you about the new crew rotations"

"Why don’t you join me in my office."

He gestures to the chair opposite his desk. She's welcome to take a seat as always. "Problems, Major?"

Can't sleep

She seemed quiet after Ghemor left.  I wonder what he said to her.

I've been called many things but "pretty" is a first.
