She had to laugh a little as she shook her head. “I promise you they won’t.” she reassured him. “Look I don’t condone violence but if they do and you accidentally  let your hand slip and hit them… I won’t tell a soul.” she joked. 

Ben let out a sigh before nodding and crossing his arms. “Yeah, okay, let’s go.” He said with a look of determination, probably expecting it to be much worse than it could actually be.

“Please go with me! I’ll hold your hand the whole time.”

Ben sighed as he looked at the haunted house, then back at her. “And you’re sure they’re not allowed to touch you or anything?”

Ben glanced up from a book when he heard a girl speaking and let out a little laugh. “Good for you.” He muttered, a little louder than intended, but let his eyes fall back down to his book a moment later. It was an English assignment, but he was actually really enjoying it, and being able to enjoy a school assignment was something completely foreign to him after everything on the Isle.

Despite being a little ticked off that her parents had decided to ship her off to Auradon Prep when it was almost her favorite holiday of the year, Dulce made the most of the situation. Focusing her energy and thoughts on the fact that she’d soon see all her friends again. Striding off the bus with a small dance in her step she announced her arrival the only way she could, “Brace yourselves, I have arrived!”

“Who wants to do Jell-O shots with me to celebrate?” ( Leo)

“You can take shots with Jello?” Ben asked with a bit of a frown.

“One of the machines in the back broke, I overheard them talking about it a minute ago. I think they’re just trying to get it to stop leaking hot water.” Ben tried to explain, glancing at the other. “I’ve already paid for mine or I’d be gone by now. There’s a Starbucks down the road though?”

“excuse me but what do I have to do to get a coffee around here??” he asked. his cool and charming demeanor disappearing as his patience ran out. he leaned over the counter and snapped at his shadows to join behind him to intimidate the poor cashier.

Ben grinned at the sight of the tattoo and looked at his friend’s face again, nodding. “It suits you.”

Melissa slowly lifted up the sleeve of her sweater, showing off the new tattoo on her wrist. “Well, what do you think?” she asked.

Ben shrugged at the question, thinking about it for a moment. “I dunno, movies, going for food... I keep hearing about lazertagging, I really want to try that. But that is kind of classified under shooting people.” He joked.

Leo did shut up when Ben told him to, shrugging. “So you’ve been here longer than I have. Aside from shooting innocent bystanders, what is there to do for fun?”

“Shut up.” Ben muttered and stood up straight again, leaning against the wall. “True. The Isle was pretty boring.” He admitted, still breathing a little heavier than normal.

“You need to get in shape, man.” Leo teased, watching as he caught his breath. “That’s because nobody has anything better to do on the Isle, here there are options.”

Ben groaned and followed after his friend again, tripping as he was pulled into the building, and putting his hands on his knees. “I hate running.” He muttered. “Probably. People don’t chase here as much as they do on the Isle.” 

Leo laughed again, dashing around the corner of a building, he ducked inside a doorway and pulled Benny in with him, letting the door slam shut behind them. “Think we’re safe in here?’

Ben nodded a little bit, hoping the other was right. He hated the idea of his mom left on the Isle in the state that she was. It wasn’t right, it wasn’t ethical, and it wasn’t healthy. Usually he or Archie had to make her food to make sure she even ate anything. “Or non-dangerous predators for that matter.” He joked, obediently sitting down beside her.

“The anger and hurt seems to be dying down now though. I can only hope that means forgiveness is around the corner.” Archie replied before rolling his eyes, giving his brother a small smile. “Nope, shes definitely not plotting to take over entire cities. She also doesnt want to jail any dangerous predators.” He added his own, moving to pull out the chair beside him.

Ben gave her a smile back, but it was a little more hesitant than before. “Oh, you know, I actually know your sister pretty well.” He said mostly just to make conversation.

“Nice to met you too!” Harmony chirped, smiling at the boy as she kept looking over her cops manual

Ben had to keep himself from panicking. As much as he was really great friends with Melissa, it was hard to think that every Hopps wouldn’t hate him. “My name’s Ben, nice to meet you.”

“Oh! Right, im Harmony Hopps!” She chirps happily. “And you are?”

Ben stuffed his hands into his pockets and nodded, shifting awkwardly between his feet for a moment. “Could you, uh, remind me of your name?”

Harmony nods her head and hums a little. “That is probably the best idea.”

Ben hesitated, but nodded. “I need to talk to my brother about it first and see what he thinks we should tell them. Then we can decide.”
