On day 3 of vacation, it was finally time for some fun in the sun! Shohei spent the whole day by the lake with his girlfriend, Chloe, and cousin Mikel and eir partner, Yasuko. Spending time with adults who aren't that much older than him really brought him out of his shell some. He did a lot of things he would never do that day—including cliff diving!

The next day of Shohei's hometowncation was a happy one! He spent the morning hiking the mountains with his moms, seeing things he never really had time to see as a kid who was always busy with school and extracurriculars. By lunch time, the entire family had made their way to town and they all had lunch at the Imai family home. Left to his own devices after that, Shohei explored the local historical village and spent some much-needed quiet time with Doki.

Day 2 of Shohei's hometown vacation! After a late night of reading and eating way too much takeout, Shohei woke up later in the morning than he usually would. That's what vacation is for, right? After he had breakfast, he took a quick swim in the lake by his rental and then headed out to the pottery shop he saw before. A quick study, he took a really fun class with the owner, Wren. Now, he has a vase to take back to San My! His moms' house was in the same neighborhood, so he made the walk there and had lunch with Sarai—Asuka, unfortunately, was on a work errand and didn't come back until closer to dinner. By then, though, Shohei had already slept the rest of the day away and golden hour getting pruney in the kiddie pool they somehow still have. He's convinced they just buy a new one every few years 🤔 Anyway, they've made plans to go on a hike in the morning to catch up more, so it's not goodbye—just 'see ya'!

The Annual NYE/Pre-Semester Kegger at Pepper's 🍻🎆

Kuri went to her first college party and it was EVERYTHING she hoped for. She did her first keg stand ever without falling flat on her face, made friends with a few of her roommates, and woke up the next morning with the worst headache she's ever experienced. It was awesome.

When the bar closed and everyone was sent home, the party continued at Wyvern with everyone gathering to play Woo-Who!? and getting to know each other. She even embarrassed herself in front a cute guy.

"Mr. Blair, since you're clearly such the expert on today's subject that you don't see any reason to pay attention, surely you wouldn't mind staying behind to clean up once class is dismissed."

Fortunately, one of the children did return: the little boy, looking even colder and smaller than before. He would not tell Willa and Olive his name, where his sister was or why both of them seemed to be without a home. But that didn't matter to Willa, as well as Olive, who were more than happy to welcome a stray, just like they once were, into their home.

However, by the time dawn came, the boy was gone, his sheets cold like he had never been there. Olive went out to town hunting for him, armed with only a description and her hope. The almshouse that had once been their refuge was no more, but she still tried, speaking to the new landlord for any morsels of information he might have.

Eventually she had to return home empty handed. It was a great loss to both her and Willa and they swore to never let that happen again. It was clear that their little town was in need of an almshouse and luckily Willa had a spare bedroom.

Shohei was feeling a bit homesick and decided to spend the week leading up to his birthday in Komorebi. the only thing is, he vastly outgrew his tiny childhood home years ago and he's gotten used to the quiet privacy of living alone. rather than staying with his moms, he decided to rent a minaka about 20 minutes away. now, he gets his own space and can walk to see his moms whenever he wants. it's the first day and all he's done is nap with Doki after the long flight, familiarize himself with the area, eat, and read. but, that's enough for our cat-loving homebody. he saw some flyers for a new pottery studio posted up, though—maybe he'll check that out tomorrow.
