Jan 14 Pose of the Day is Trikonasana (Triangle Pose). Root down through the outer edge of your back foot to roll your hip open. Place a block under your lower hand if you cannot reach the floor. Crown of your head reaches away from your tailbone to lengthen your spine. #metropoweryoga #january2015

In the last week we @metropoweryoga had many students break through with new poses; crow and wheel, both of which I consider gateway poses. By gateway I mean they are the beginnings to other more advanced poses. And it all begins with wondering, what if?

Camel or Ustrasana is an amazing heart and throat opening pose. The key to safe back-bending here is to bring the tailbone towards to pubic bone. Curl toes under to lessen the bend. Enjoy it! @metropoweryoga
