a Comforting Warmth | Berrien x Voldemort

The soft mattress pressed against your skin, the quite crinkling of the fireplace which creates a comforting feeling in your chest and the sounds from the dark forest outside which seems to sing a sweet melody which caresses you to sleep.

But what you can't get enough of, is the mesmerising man who's sitting next to your bed with his slender legs crossed while reading out a book in his gloved hand to you.

The light from the fireplace seems to give him an angelic like glow to his features which makes it hard for you to keep your eyes off him.

His soothing voice makes you feel safe, makes you feel like...'home'.

"Berrien."

The man set aside his book and gazed lovingly into your eyes with a soft smile.

"Yes, Aruji-sama?" Something about the way you looked at him creates a fluttering feeling in his chest, but he can't figure out what exactly it is.

"Will you stay with me until i fall asleep?" You ask, a hint of nervousness laced in your voice.

The butler chuckles at your question; "I intended to do that from the start, my lady."

You smiled at his respond and patted the space next to you. "Here."

The butler froze for a second. Sure, he was going to stay with you until you fell asleep but... to be in Aruji-sama's bed might be a bit of crossing the line.

He looked into your eyes with a look which seems to ask if it was really okay. Of course, the butler fancies you quite a lot but he wouldn't ever wish to do anything which may make you uncomfortable in the slightest.

You simply nod in affirmation and he slowly shifts to your bed. You can't help but stare at him; Everything about him seems so lovely. His hair neatly tucked behind one hair looked so elegant to you.

"Aruji-sama, you should sleep, lack of sleep is bad for your skin." The butler softly spoke as he gently caressed your hand bringing it up to give it a kiss.

Your face heated up from the sudden gesture and you pulled your hand back.

"Ah, forgive me i didn't mean to make you flustered." The butler gets a bit fidgety thinking he made you uncomfortable.

"No, it's alright..." You look up at him and give him a reassuring smile. Sleep was getting to you already. The man smelled of roses which gave you a calming feeling.

The butler softly sighed in relief but his breath soon hitched in his throat as he felt your head on his chest.

"Just...a bit longer. Until i fall asleep please stay like this." You shyly mumbled, arms wrapping around his waist to pull yourself closer to his comforting warmth.

The butler on the other hand was nervous about you hearing his heartbeat which was rapidly beating from your sudden action as he quickly tries to recompose himself, his cheeks tinted with a hint of red. He thought this side of you was quite cute as well.

His eyes soften as he relaxes into your embrace and starts gently patting your head. "Yes...Aruji-sama."

Both of you; in each others' warm embrace, not wanting to let go. Hearing each others' heartbeat which feels like whispers of comfort. Listening to the soft breaths escaping from the butler accompanied with the quite crinkling of the fireplace gives you an oddly satisfying feeling. You could stay like this forever.
