One of my biggest writing pet peeves is when someone is writing in second person (reader’s POV) and they accidentally add a non-neutral physical descriptor of skin tone that really breaks my immersion.

As someone who’s darker skinned, getting deep into a good story only to have ‘my’ body described as light or pale is annoying and upsetting. Whiteness is often seen as the default and terms like that just accidentally make their way into works meant to be general, and I really want authors to avoid making mistakes/choices like that in the future.

Obviously not all works are meant for me but I know the difference between something intentional and something overlooked. Especially in kink writing. I can imagine myself with any body type/parts but I can’t and won’t imagine myself as a different ethnicity.

I’m not sure how many people realize that there’s a way in which hurt/comfort is actually very kinky, because at its core you’ve got this emotional power exchange fantasy where one character is vulnerable and helpless and the other takes care of them. The fun part is, art is inaccessible to a lot of people. The issue is it's not solved by AI art, that inaccessibility is made worse.

A lot of great art also is made through the constraints presented by a society, people using the tools they have at hand, as well as whatever artistic education or sort of wits they have about them. But in this day and age, such Innovations are so heavily barricaded by cost and Industry and the ways in which different things are set up that it's almost impossible to do the things people want to do.

The tantalizing offer of AI "art" simulacra is a Band-Aid solution for a bullet hole bleed. The solution comes from the deindustrialization of Art and the removal of capitalism from different types of artistic production.

Do we need art not to be made asynchronized thing within capitalism. Artists are workers that are not treated like workers and we are told to deify, lift up, and Aspire to, but we are taught not to be like nor not to desire the Privileges of, because the Privileges of many artists and the Privileges of many aspirational people tied to art are actually constraints set by capitalism to limit the accessibility of Art and the ability to continue doing it.

AI does not solve this problem. AI makes this problem worse. It makes it far easier to industrialize art, it also makes it far easier to exploit other people's work without having to plagiarize, and it basically industrializes what capitalism sees or considers legitimate art: stock images they don't have to set up or take photos up, stock artwork they can use to fill gaps and backgrounds and people won't notice to cut corners, content Farm media which they can launder through a system multiple times before anyone fact checks. The entire purpose of AI art is to completely Rob artists of compensation for their creativity once again. The entire purpose of capitalism is Mr Rob you of your labor, and in art your labor is what you produce, the art you do and how you do it. If a machine can supposedly do a simulacra of it, they won't hire you.

That's why they keep pushing it, so they can break different artists guilds, Collections and creative groups, as they have done so with Monopoly mergers and cancellation of Productions, and basically tell them to the highest bidder or buy them at the lowest prices.

Art is made inaccessible by capitalism, AI art simply makes this process much more streamlined, and the only true Liberation and accessibility of art comes from our communities doing stuff like this. By posting tutorials, by sharing resources by basically pirating and using software, you are basically telling the creative institutions of capitalism that exist that art will persist even after the industry of Art is picked to pieces.

Art is inaccessible, but it was made inaccessible, and it can be made accessible again. Art is an expression that should be given to every human as a fundamental right. The ability to convey our thoughts and be understood should not be restrained from us by the rigid system of capitalism. It is through our communities and group sharing shit like this that opposes and rips apart the foundation of capitalism, which is exploitation and so on.

Keep and maintain artistic accessibility. The world we live in deserves it.

The "how to draw manga" series produced by Graphic-sha. These are for manga artist but they give great advice and information.

"Creating characters with personality" by Tom Bancroft. A great book that can help not just people who draw cartoons but also realistic ones. As it helps you with facial ques and how to make a character interesting.

"Albinus on anatomy" by Robert Beverly Hale and Terence Coyle. Great book to help someone learn basic anatomy.

"Artistic Anatomy" by Dr. Paul Richer and Robert Beverly Hale. A good book if you want to go further in-depth with anatomy.

"Directing the story" by Francis Glebas. A good book if you want to Story board or make comics.

"Animal Anatomy for Artists" by Eliot Goldfinger. A good book for if you want to draw animals or creatures.

"Constructive Anatomy: with almost 500 illustrations" by George B. Bridgman. A great book to help you block out shadows in your figures and see them in a more 3 diamantine way.

"Dynamic Anatomy: Revised and expand" by Burne Hogarth. A book that shows how to block out shapes and easily understand what you are looking out. When it comes to human subjects.

"An Atlas of animal anatomy for artist" by W. Ellenberger and H. Dittrich and H. Baum. This is another good one for people who want to draw animals or creatures.

Etherington Brothers, they make books and have a free blog with art tips.

As for Supplies, I recommend starting out cheap, buying Pencils and art paper at dollar tree or 5 below. For digital art, I recommend not starting with a screen art drawing tablet as they are more expensive.

For the Best art Tablet I recommend either Xp-pen, Bamboo or Huion. Some can range from about 40$ to the thousands.

I have made time to learn to draw and many artist have too. Either in-between working two jobs or taking care of your family and a job or regular school and chores. YOU just have to take the time or use some time management, it really doesn't take long to practice for like an hour or less. YOU also don't have to do it every day, just once or three times a week is fine.

I've been stewing on this post for a while and I feel like it's probably time I should be a little more Frank on an account that a lot of people don't see as often.

I have been having massive regression episodes where I go nonverbal and struggle to do anything. They seem to be tied to my depression, which has been bubbling to the surface because of a lot of shit I've been going through both at work and in general. Sometimes I feel in very much control of my stuff and other times I don't feel very in control of certain things, and I don't think it's a good idea for me to drive or do stuff because I'm at like a stress threshold.

It's been making anything other than just existing hard. I hate dealing with this. I hate having to fight through it. I hate feeling like I don't have control over anything.
