my boyfriend works but his job likes to randomly cut his hours and the pay isn't the best, and I cannot work. he drives a lot during work which in turn makes us need gas a lot, which is where a good chunk of our paycheck ends up going every week. the rest usually goes to bills.

MY SISTERS AREN’T DOING WELL!!

Soso is struggling to recover from chickenpox, her fever keeps coming back and the hot weather isn’t helping. We barely have any food to give her to help her immune system fight the disease. She’s too thin, too small and too weak for her age. She cries constantly from pain and hunger. Our other sister keeps fainting due to malnutrition.

We struggle to stay afloat due to the insane prices. $1,000 for 25kg of flour. $150 for 1kg of sugar. Fruits, vegetables and meat are hopeless. Hygiene products and medicine are a luxury.

I know we’re not the only ones asking and I know you guys are struggling too. I understand that. But please at least share if you see this. There are people out there who can afford to donate and I need to reach them!

It really makes you sit and think that it took the bloodiest war on "American" soil to accomplish the bare minimum belief of "Black people shouldn't be slaves", and even then it was an incidental outcome. We would literally still be slaves if Lincoln and his advisors didn't think it was necessary to break the Confederacy. It was THAT close. That's how badly white supremacy (and the capitalism it cycles with) wanted to maintain itself here.

There has not been a single forward movement in our Emancipation or Civil Rights that didn't face extreme violence and require organization and the threat of violence to fight against.

So when people seem to think that "we can do this nonviolently", I chafe because it makes me wonder if we're even looking at the same history. Kwame Ture said it best; in order for nonviolence to work your enemy has to have a conscience. We can be nonviolent all we want but we are not gonna get that back 😬 sorry.

It's Juneteenth, I'm a Black Texan, descendant of enslaved Black Texans. Texas is the only state that fought two different wars to protect slavery and chattel slavery ended the last for it. Juneteenth to me is to celebrate that part of overt white supremacy coming to an end, but it was not the end of white supremacy. It did not stop, with the lynching, the police violence, the redlining, the environmental racism, the segregation. Juneteenth represents a good win aganist the fight against white supremacy, but it's not over.

And for this Juneteenth, I ask for help for my friends that are the victims of this same US white supremacy. Not just today, but everyday Gazans deserve any type of help that you can give them. The technology that is used to segregate and attack and police and destroy Palestinians is the same technology that is sold to Texas to be used for the border patrol and to harass and control immigrants and border communities. This is one, connected fight aganist white supremacy and US control and destruction of Black and Brown bodies. So I ask today if you could donate this, or share, to help provide for a mother and her 2 now fatherless children in Gaza, or anyone else in Gaza who needs help. Like this family with a sick baby. Just do something, especially if you got the day off.
