Because I think about this all the time and don’t know if I’m capable of stopping.

I didn’t really mean for it to turn out so sad but oops.

scifi au idea i had while waiting for the xmas special

-there`s no magic

-kwami are symbiotic and share the bodies of their wielders

-transforming is really painful the first time until they get used to it, for marinette its like her skeleton is shifting to the outside like a bug`s exoskeleton, for adrien it`s like growing super dense fur

-the kwami can take over the bodies if the host lets them or if they`re very tired or something

-the symbols only appear in the right eye when the switch is very sudden like the host falling unconscious. the kwami takes over

-marinette eats cookies like theres no tomorrow and people comment on it like how do you eat so much sugar and still stay fit

-adrien can`t get enough of cheese, but sweet stuff makes him sick

-adrien gets very hairy and has to shave a lot

-plagg is not very friendly at first and the kwami don’t really understand humans

-when tikki takes over while transformed into ladybug, her hair turns red and her skin turns pink, eyes get lighter and the suit gets darker and more exoskeleton-like

-when plagg takes over, his hair just turns black and the suit`s fur gets more bristled (the tail`s always a real cat tail instead of a belt)

-tikki and plagg are a lot stronger but can only maintain control for a few minutes, and every transformation is really exhausting

-eventually marinette and adrien will get stronger too and mutate more powers the longer they are fused with their kwami

-since there’s no magic, the miraculous cure would have to be something like advanced alien tech but it only works on organic life forms so all property damage is permanent. so there’s usually construction going on to repair the damage the villain of the week (or chat) caused

-nooroo is evil and hawkmoth is not or else it wouldn’t really make sense

-and you can’t really separate a person from their kwami except by ripping it out of them which would likely be a mortal wound (unless the kwami wants to leave)

-tikki can heal, plagg can destroy, and nooroo can split off small pieces of himself which he uses to akumatize people

-nooroo wants all the power for himself and wants to assimilate tikki and plagg to become the ultimate lifeform

here’s the story i thought up so far

one day in paris theres a meteor shower and a violent alien shows up. adrien and marinette separately find their miraculouses and are given a choice to help save paris

they gravely wound the alien but nooroo escapes and finds a new host to take over. the alien takes on a smaller human like form to heal itself (its master fu) and he gives them guidance about the kwami

“Marinette, come look at this!” Her mother yelled, watching the TV.

“What is it, Mom?” She sauntered over to the couch and sat down.

And in this gruesome turn of events, Chat Noir is losing and Ladybug is nowhere to be found. The announcer said, dodging a brick that flew her way.

“Uh, hey, Mom? I have some homework to do, so I’m going to go upstairs to watch this,” Marinette said, bolting up.

He’s been hit! Chat Noir’s been hit! The announcer exclaimed, running over to him. Let’s take a look. Mr. Chat Noir. Chat, can you hear me? -He’s not moving. Greg, he’s not moving. Call an ambulance. …He doesn’t have a pulse. Put down the camera and help me with CPR.

“Chat!” Marinette exclaimed, wide-eyed at the screen in front of her.

He’s not breathing. I repeat, he has no pulse and isn’t breathing. Where is Ladybug? Did this monster take her down too?

Marinette sprinted upstairs and transformed, leaping and bounding her way to the scene of the crime. By the time she got there, the monster was gone and the news crew was packing up.

“What happened to Chat?” She cried. “Where is he?”

“Didn’t you hear, late-y-bug?” The newscaster sighed. “He was a goner before the paramedics got him.

No. Her blood ran cold. Not him. Not Chat.

“Where is he now?” She asked.

“I’m sorry, we can only release that information to his immediate family.”

“How do you know I’m not his family?” She said, her brain working quickly.

“It seems as though you’ve forgotten about the whole ‘secret-identity’ part of your life.”

“I-” She gritted her teeth. “I need to go. Did you see where the Akuma went?”

“Not so fast, Ladybug,” A voice from behind her said. She turned around to see a masked man on the newscaster’s monitor.

“Hawkmoth!”

“I can bring him back to life, you know.”

“That’s impossible.”

“It’s true. I have his miraculous now, and with yours I would have enough power to breath life back into his corpse.”

“You’re lying. I hate liars.”

“You have until sundown.” The screen flicked off as the news crew stared at her awkwardly, filming her reaction.

“He will never prevail!” She shouted, mostly to amp herself up.

“Ladybug, does this mean you value your miraculous more than you value your partner’s life?” The newswoman held out her microphone.

“What? No, I-”

“Because if you don’t give up your miraculous, you may as well have killed Chat Noir with your own hands.”

“Leave me alone!” She cried, pulling out her yo-yo and zip lining to the nearest rooftop. She ran away, with tears in her eyes, trying to make sense of the situation.

He can’t be gone. He can’t be. I’ll find him. I’ll find him even if I have to search all of Paris.

Her feet stopped as she realized she was in front of the Agreste mansion. She started walking towards it as if possessed, and found herself tapping on Adrien’s window a moment later.

“Ladybug?” Adrien jumped off of his sofa in surprise and unlocked the window. “What are you doing here?”

“I-” She began, tears swelling in her eyes, “Oh, Adrien. I messed up. I messed up big, and now he’s gone.”

“Who?” Adrien asked, worry in his voice. “What happened?”

“Chat! It’s all my fault, and all of Paris knows it!”

“Calm down, Ladybug. What happened with Chat?” He took her by the hand and led her to the couch.

“He’s-” Her voice broke off into a sob. “He’s dead.”

“That’s… interesting. What happened?”

“Didn’t you see the news? How they tried to resuscitate him? I can’t even go see him because I’m not his stupid relative!”

“I’m sure he’s not actually gone,” he said, placing a hand on her shoulder and furrowing his eyes. “He’s a tough guy.”

“No. He’s gone. He’s gone and I should have been there for him. I should have protected him.”

“Ladybug, he’s alive.”

“How can you possibly know that?”

“I can feel it. Have a little faith in your partner. He’ll turn up soon.”

“You aren’t helping!” She yelled, standing up and limping over to the window.

“Ladybug!”

“Goodbye, Adrien.”

“Wait!”

“Why should I?”

Adrien sighed and stared at his hand for a moment. “Because he’s here.”

“Don’t lie to me, Adrien.”

“…Claws out.”

Her eyes grew wide as her teenage heartthrob crush transformed into her trusted partner. “You-” She began. “You’re!”

“My Lady, you can’t get rid of me that easily.”

“How?”

“I’m guessing the Akumatized victim has something similar to Volpina’s illusion. Let’s go watch that news report again.”

Ladybug sat perfectly still as she sat next to Chat, scrolling through her endlessly complicated emotional state. “I can’t believe it’s you,” She whispered.

“I’m sorry?”

“I can’t believe that… you’re Paris’ heartthrob model, that’s all.”

“We all have our secrets. I think the akuma’s in the camera, and the victim is the cameraman.”

“What do you mean?”

“Think about it. What if his power was to show Paris whatever he wanted?”

“I… guess that makes sense.”

“Let’s go break some Hollywood.”

haaa so @tsundere-fox-prince & I were talking about what would happen if plagg got seriously pissed off over adrien skimping on his cheese and basically how he would straight up sabotage his transformation. so instead of turning him into a cool teen superhero in a skin tight suit he would just turn him into a smol cat

and thus *~Kitty Noir~* was born

Imagine if the first one to find out Ladybug’s identity...

…is Chloé Bourgeois. 

I can easily picture Alya finding out; I swoon at the thought of Adrien finally knowing. thelastpilot has given us an extremely spot-on characterization of Nino finding out who LB is. 

But when it comes to Chloé knowing, a part of me hesitates. Because I honestly don’t know how she’d react to that. She LOVES her some Ladybug, but absolutely cannot STAND Marinette. How does a person reconcile that? Will she like Ladybug less? Or stop altogether? Or will she stop being awful to Marinette? It could go so many ways! 

Imagine Chloé realizing that the girl she was secretly jealous of, the kind Marinette who made friends without money or fame or threats, the girl that Adrien seemed to enjoy being around, THAT girl was ALSO Ladybug? Who was loved by all of Paris? Including herself? 

Would her jealousy just get worse? Would she hate Marinette more? Try to sabotage her because no way can she have it all. She can’t be this popular pretty girl in school and ALSO a super hero. She doesn’t get to be so close to Adrien in school AND have him gawk at her as Ladybug. It’s just so UNFAIR. 

But then imagine Chloé knowing that with all the YEARS of harassment and rude comments  she’d subjected Marinette to, LB STILL saved her life. Multiple times. Marinette let Chloé call her a friend when she was behind the mask, even knowing she’d got back to school the next day and hear the mayor’s daughter throw insults at her. 

Maybe that is what, once and for all, stops Chloé’s reign of terror. Kinda. 

Imagine the class’s reactions when Chloé starts asking after Marinette’s health. Suddenly feeling guilty and realizing the girl might be falling down a lot because she has bruises or broke something in a fight or GOD what if she has the flu? 

Imagine Marinette’s skeptical reaction to that, and Chloé’s nonchalant “Well don’t think I actually CARE or anything…just don’t want your nasty germs getting all over me Marinette Dupain-Cheng!” 

Imagine Tom and Sabine’s bakery suddenly getting it’s debts paid off, courtesy of the mayor. Imagine them getting invited to cater at high-profile events and galas in Paris. Suddenly business is booming even MORE than before. The Dupain-Cheng’s don’t have to worry about money anymore. 

Imagine Chloé suddenly asking Sabrina to do two sets of geography homework. “You know…just in case I lose one or something!” But she knows an akuma attacked late last night and there’s no way Mari had time to do hers. 

Imagine there’s an akuma attack, and all their classmates wonder where Marinette is, and Chloé distracts them with a “Who cares about her anyway? She probably tripped and got herself locked in a closet somewhere. Let’s just go!” 

Imagine her purposely being late for school (she makes Sabrina do it too) as well so that the teacher leaves Marinette alone. Because if Marinette is in trouble then so is Chloé, and who would dare give the mayor’s daughter a tardy, and “We’re not late, the rest of you are just early!” 

Imagine that Chloé Bourgeois still pretends to be the stuck up rich brat everyone knows her as just to keep Marinette’s secret safe. 

Imagine her actually wanting to be Marinette’s friend even MORE, but feeling super embarrassed about everything between them and not really knowing how else to be. This is all new for her, and she’s never been really good at making friends. ;) 

And she thinks maybe that’s what she deserves for treating Marinette so terribly. Maybe she doesn’t deserve to have her as a real friend. But she’s definitely going to do what she can to help.

She IS Ladybug’s number one fan after all.

I see a fair number of long trip adrinette where marinette falls asleep first but consider the reverse?? Marinette would totally force herself to stay awake if she was next to adrien.
