Paying homage to the Carribean Disco wave of the 1970s is 'Flamingo Hangover', a recent collaboration between Umeme Afrorave and Berlin-based producer Africaine 808. Over a rolling Dancehall beat, we hear catchy steel-pan riffs, Afrobeat inspired guitars and vintage synth stabs. Its a retrospective production, with white noise sweeps and raw MIDI horns that compliment the steady groove. The track will be relased on Paris-based, Afrocentric label, Mawimbi, and is available for pre-order via their Bandcamp page.

There are few producers who sound as distinctive as Murlo. Whether he's making Bashment, R'n'G, Grime or Bassline under his Sharda alias, anyone who is familiar with his work will be able to recognise a Murlo track from the get-go. This time remixing 'I, U, Us' by South London-based singer RAYE, he has dont it once again with his signature high-pitched lead synths and skippy percussion. Not to mention that the groove just completely changes for a mere 14 bars at 1:58, another typical trait to Murlo's progressive arrangments. Evidently making big manoevers, the track is available immediately via Polydor Records.

The latest release on Boiler Room's 'Stay True' series hails from Lisbon and is a powerful collaboration between Branko of Buraka Som Sistema and Batida. Built with field recordings of a day out in the city, the track captures the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life in Lisbon, with rolling Angolan percussion and pulsating pianos. These two producers are at the forefront of the Portuguese capital's unique, Afro-influenced sound. Whilst Branko of Buraka Som Sistema may need little introduction, Batida has also consistently held his own with his releases of relentless Kuduro-inspired beats on Soundway Records. The track is available as a FREE download via Soundcloud.

Following up his release with Glenn Astro on Ninja Tune, Max Graef returns with this pleasantly messy lo-fi number. A versatile producer, Graef has shown his tight grasp of non-quantised beat patterns with countless releases on Box Aus Holz, Money $ex, Sleazy Beats Black Ops and the aformentioned Ninja Tune. Whether they're Hip Hop tracks to back Wayne Snow or his own more club-focused productions, Graef's crunchy drum samples and Jazz-influenced chord pads make his tracks instantly recognisable. This time he is releasing on Apron Records, a label that has seen a great year after putting out Steven Julien (aka Funkineven)'s 'Fallen'. A full EP from Graef will be available in mid-October!

The latest track to receive the official Gilles Peterson seal of approval is 'Moringa Powder' by KXNGS. The upcoming London-based producer's varied influences can be heard in this track, fusing rolling percussion samples with skippy hi-hats a punchy bassline which holds reference to the London underground. Although the track has already received support from Jamz Supernova on 1Xtra, we know very little about this producer. His social media presence is modest, minimal and doesn't tell us a lot about him. With an interesting track and a Worldwide debut we can only hope to hear more great music from him in the future!

Serious bassweight meditation from Croatian Dubstep necromancer, Egoless, on the B side of this forthcoming release. Exploring the deeper, Dub-weighted side of 140bpm, Egoless has seen a consistent series of highly regarded releases on the likes of ZamZam Sounds, J:Kenzo's Lion Charge and V.I.V.E.K's System Music. Releasing this time on Scotch Bonnet, Mungo's Hi-Fi's prolific Glasgow-based imprint, Egoless has once again proved his refined ability of spring reverb and sub-frequency manipulation. String up the sub-woofer for the preview and pre-order immediately!

Previewing his forthcoming release on Soundway Records, here’s new music from Lisbon-based producer, iZem. Having established himself strongly through his energetic remix on London Afrobeat Collective’s ‘Ole’, iZem is arguably known for the faster side of his sound, blending Footwork rhythms with carefully curated, Afrocentric sampling. Here however, he’s taken a much more laid back approach to sequencing with this modern take on a Bossa Nova arrangement, proving his versatility as a producer with the silky Brazilian vocals and jazzy sax line. Despite belonging to the forthcoming record, the track is available immediately as a free download on Soundcloud.

Finally! A preview from Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge's long awaited album on Stones Throw Records, 'Yes Lawd!'. Producing under NxWorries (No Worries), the dream duo gained huge praise on their 6-track debut EP, released earlier in the year. .Paak's soulful vocal delivery and explicit lyrics perfectly match Knxwledge's tastefully sloppy beats, contributing to LA's rich musical heritage. This record is going to be a big deal! Pre-order immediately on Stones Throw's website.

Another heavyweight belter from "Jazzstep" virtuoso, Swindle. A human bridge between the often disparate worlds of Grime, Dubstep, Jazz, Funk and Soul, Swindle's signature sound shines through in this track with its chuggy bass line and roaring pentatonic synth hooks. Not to mention the fact that HE'S GOT GHETTS ON A TRACK (!!!), who matches the beat perfectly with his snappy flow. This is available immediately on Elijah & Skilliam's Butterz. You know what to do.

LEVELZ baron and multifaceted DJ/MC/producer, Chimpo, has consistently been at the forefront of Manchester's unique bass-led sound. Taking a step back from his more break-heavy productions, this Mixmag premiere shows clear influences from Teklife's 808-heavy Footwork tracks with its relentless percussion and smooth, harmonic breakdowns. A melting pot for innovative club music, Manchester has always shown admirable versatility in the higher BPMs. This release is due on dBridge's seminal label Exit Records later in the year.

Another great debut from Boiler Room is Phil Gerus’ ‘Why All The Questions’, forthcoming through a vinyl-only release on dutch imprint Luberjacks Boogie. With huge gated reverb snares and a chuggy bass line which reminisces on Parliament’s ‘Flashlight’, the track is clearly influenced by the 1980s production techniques. Though retrospective, it boasts sublimity and depth that could only be found in a modern production. This is the Moscow-born/Tokyo-based producer’s second release on the label and the 12” is available for pre-order.

Dancehall institution Mixpak have shared ‘Wine Up’, a single from Jubilee’s forthcoming album, 'After Hours'. Combining a trap-heavy bassline, a relentless marimba hook and Hoodcelebrityy’s aggressive Bashment vocal, Jubilee has made a heavyweight neo-Dancehall bouncer. As good a sparse DJ tool as it as a standalone rhythm, the track lives up to Mixpak’s solid output – rooted in Dancehall whilst pushing the boundries of the genre. The full album will be out on the 21st of October and we hope to hear another single before the full release.
