  - ̗̀ * ( crystal reed + cisfemale + she/her ) have you seen ( Beth DeRanta ) walking around las olas ? they are a ( 26 ) year old, and they are a ( veterinarian intern/student ). in their spare time they also ( ride horses, babysit and volunteer ), and can be ( alluring & distant ), maybe it’s because they are a ( cancer ). they sort of remind us of ( crimson red lips, coffee at 3am, rain trickling down a windowpane ), maybe we can find out more !

The Younger Years:

The only child born to a respectable Doctor and bakery owner, Beth DeRanta was born and raised in this small Californian town and she wouldn’t change any of it for the world. Always believing that small town life is the best way to live.

Her parents were always supportive of their daughter, noticing she had an affinity for animal and caring for them, something they always encouraged wanting her to pursue her dreams and passions.

Something that many people would’ve considered a square growing up. She always excelled in school, wanting to get the best grades and make her parents proud, showing them that all their hard work paid off. She was never outrightly popular but she was known throughout the small town. 

She was always a reserved person, never really one for attending parties or getting wild like a lot of the teenagers her age. Instead she spent most her weekends babysitting for extra money or spending time with her sweetheart.

Aside from her parents, he was perhaps the only person she has ever truly revealed herself too. Believing that they were meant to be and that their futures would always be entwined together. Even when he went off and joined the army, despite her fearing for his safety.

While she waited for her soldier- she enrolled full time in college in order to study become a veterinarian wanting to help animals like she had always dreamed of doing, something her parents were extremely proud of.

When she received word of his injury but nothing from him, she realized that the perfect world she had tried so hard to create wasn’t so perfect. Choosing to defer her studies while she packed her things and decided to live and work overseas, in order to find herself outside of the small town.

The Formative Years:

Beth spent the next four years traveling all over the world. Working small time jobs in various countries to fund her travels and living. Only checking in with her dutiful parents every couple of days.

It was during her travels that she truly discovered herself, trying to let go of the lost love that she had left behind and seeking comfort in the new world around her.

It was in Spain that she met someone- it was a brief yet passionate fling which ended in them putting a ring on the finger though the marriage was doomed from the start.

Her husband turned out to be a heated man, feeling everything intensely and resenting Beth for refusing to open up to him and tell him about the life she lives before they met. Realizing they were not a match, Beth filed for divorce.

Hiding the entire marriage from her parents and realizing it was time to head home, Beth packed up her things, scoured together the money for a return ticket home and before her parents knew it, their daughter was at their doorstep, looking far more world weary than she remembered.

The Current Years:

Beth has only been back in town for a mere seven months and is still adjusting being back in her hometown. Though she has enrolled in college once more and is working as a vet nurse intern at the local veterinarian clinic.

It was late one night that she also realized the clinic she was working at, works as a backdoor surgery for the two gangs that seem to be taking over the small town, though she knows to keep her mouth shut.

She has moved out of her parents house into a small one bedroom apartment near the campus, though she works part-time as a babysitter to pay her rent.

Since returning her relationship with her parents has become somewhat strained, not really knowing how to interact with their daughter after all these years of her being hone.

When she was young, Beth thought that she knew everything she wanted in life but after everything that has happened in the past few years, she isn’t so sure about her path in life.

She also works part time at the horse stables just outside of town where she teaches people how to ride horses and cares for them in her spare time.

Possible connections:

ex boyfriend: someone she may have dated when she first returned to town but quickly broke it off when she realized she wasn’t ready to date.

ex-lover: Beth often ends her sorrows with the bottom of a bottle so these two could’ve had a fling or two.  

FWB: she’s decided that casual is best and these two have a casual dalliance.

Childhood friend: these two were very close growing up but after Beth’s travels they lost touch.

Best friends: about the only person Beth kept in touch with during her time away. They have been inseparable for years.

Distant relatives: these two could be cousins or distantly related through her parents or marriage.

Rivals: they have never really liked one another and have always viewed everything as a competition between each other.

Enemies: though Beth is a friendly person, they can even have their enemies which is exactly what this person is.

Friends turn enemies: things went bad for these two for whatever reason and now they can’t stand the sight of one another.
