        His features would HARDEN, no longer playing along with his little game. He was sick and tired of people getting in his way. All he wanted was to make the world a BETTER place, but then Curt and his little friends had to interfere. “I gave you ONE of the locations, love. I don’t think you understand that I don’t give a damn about who has the TITLE. As long as Curt Mega lives, our work will live on. Even when he is gone. When I’m gone. I wouldn’t get too ahead of yourself.”

Her eyes glared at him as he spoke of people with such lack of care. “I know what a few bodies mean…and it is not good.” Memories of Russia flickered in her min making her jaw tighten. “We’ll take them down too. You aren’t the source, you are just a, how you say, little birdie doing work for them as well. You gave us the information we needed to take them down. And we are done talking. Come!” Her hand holding the gun was ready to fire if he didnt do so.

“Curt is... well, Curt.” He knew that wouldn’t HELP, but what he was getting at was true. “You’re one of the most IMPORTANT parts of the agency, if not the first. And we couldn’t FORGET you even if we wanted to.”

“Sure, I do…” The words were leaked with sarcasm; bitter and biting towards herself. ”Owen, I’m a scientist. To you guys, the spies, I am utterly forgettable. Especially to him.”

        “There’s hardly anything to FEAR when you are already a dead man, wouldn’t you agree?”

        He didn’t CARE for the threats of his inevitable death. Be it at the hands of Mrs. Mega, which he doubted, or of CURT. Seeing Curt’s record, that chance was slim just as well.

        “I’m not the one who should be worried. There’s no way you’re getting out of this one alive, Owen.”

        Not while she still had breath in her body. Underestimating the lengths a mother would go for her child is going to be his downfall.

        “It is all a part of the job.” Both of them knew that. But he appreciated the other spy’s EFFORT, even as he finished patching up that wound to tend to his own. “There you go, old man. Good as NEW.”

    Curt frowned. Owen was RIGHT. Of course he was. Curt was far more reckless than his partner. “It’s a good thing I have you as a partner then,” defeat, but not bitterness, colored the words. “Or I would really be in trouble.”

I absolutely adore your take on Owen and I love you. You are a literal ball of sunshine and your general presence on my dash no matter what blog you're on makes me so immensely happy.         His words would be accompanied with a LAUGH. Oh, this was truly something else. It was almost as if they made this TOO easy for him.

        Whatever retort she has dies on her tongue. Of course Curt was going to come for her. And of course that was why Owen had her. That was obvious. And now they were both in danger.

      “I’m not going to cooperate with you, Owen. You know that, don’t you? You try and call him, I’m not going to say a word.”
