i would like to make it crystal clear: this blog is and always will be a safe, supportive space for physical and biological alterhumans of any sort.
you do not have to justify yourself to anyone either <3
(certain current events have prompted this post)

Literally me all day every day. So much of what I do is bear if you look closely enough
Being alterhuman isn't always obvious. Sometimes it's in the little things.
It's in the way I pull back my lips and bare my teeth when I yawn.
It's in the way I extend my fingers as if they were claws when I stretch.
It's in the way I move and the way I talk, the way I see and the way I feel.
It's simply me.

Highly recommend every nonhuman learn about their local ecosystem even if it’s not their hearthome or where their species are from. I promise there is joy in the flora and fauna around you, yes even if you live in a big city. Chances are there is also meaningful action you can take to help the wildlife where you live.

Hey yall, if your real fur tails aren't specifically from wild caught animals...then they are from fur farms. Also a huge portion of the colour varieties that you can get for tails are only colours you can get with domesticated / non-wild animals (foxes specifically).
I'm not saying that all furfarms are unethical either, I just think not enough people know that their gear is very likely from a fur farm.

Im really happy that bioterms are catching on.
Here is a more official bioterms post.
Bioterms relay how someone wants their body to be referred to.
Ex: Someone with wolf bioterms may want their hands and feet referred to as their paws, their haired referred to as their fur, their mouth and nose to be referred to as their snout, their clothes referred to as their pelt, etc.
Bioterms can be put in bios like pronouns.
Ex: Toby he/they (raven bioterms)

Overthinking.
Been thinking about the way I feel kind of self-contradictory/hypocritical calling my connection to Pandora hearthome and not Na’vihearted, considering how focused on the Na’vi specifically I often find myself. I know logically, or at least am pretty sure logically judging by my reactions to Na’vi versus other parts of and species on Pandora, that it’s just an artifact of Avatar media and fandom being overwhelmingly focused on the Na’vi first and foremost, and the rest of Pandora second. (Which, of course it is; it’s far easier to craft a story focused on sentient beings, it’s far easier to get humans to relate to human-shaped things, and while I might be thrilled to receive a ten-hour Pandora documentary with no real plot, statistically very few people would feel similarly.)
But it doesn’t stop me from questioning myself occasionally, especially when I consciously tune into little habits like this one.

It doesn’t matter if you have a disability, or even just your human body doesn’t match up with your other one
You can be a hawk with glasses
You can be a hare with hearing aids
You can be a dog with bad smell (I’m this one)
You can be a cheetah in a wheelchair
You can be a snow leopard who can’t stand the cold
You can be a desert scorpion that can’t stand the heat
You can be a bee with pollen allergies
You can be an anteater with a fear of bugs
You can be a moth that doesn’t like lights
It doesn’t matter what you identify as, you’re valid

I wanted to illustrate my many hands
Despite what I drew, my draconic body doesn’t actually have claws! But I would like some :)
