One day, the deer did not turn up at the usual time. The mole, tortoise and crow were worried. The mole turned to the crow, “ I think you better fly around and see where the deer is. “The crow nodded her head and flew away.
She didn’t have to fly too far to find the deer. Unfortunately, the deer was trapped in a hunter’s net! “Friend deer! What happened?” the crow cried.
The deer sighed, “I am normally very careful in where I put my step. But this net was well-hidden, I am now trapped. It is only a matter of time before the hunter gets here.”
“I’ll get some help,” the crow said as she flapped away. She quickly flew to the banyan tree where the mole and tortoise were waiting, she told them everything that had happened.
“Friend tortoise, you wait right here,” said the mole, “I will go the crow and cut the net our friend is trapped in with my sharp teeth.”
The deer was happy to see his friends. The mole start cutting through the net. It was hard work, but soon the deer was free. “Thank you friend mole!” the deer cried out as he stepped out of the net.
“Ah! Looks like our friend is free!” came a voice from the bushes. It was the tortoise who had walked slowly to the spot. At some moment, the hunter arrived. The deer ran swiftly. The crow flew away. The mole quickly dug a hole to hide in. But the tortoise was too slow. The deer escaped the net, but the hunter’s eyes fell on the tortoise who was walking away slowly.
The hunter was shocked to see that the net had been cut. But then his eyes fell on the slowly moving tortoise. “I lost the deer, but this tortoise will make a fine soup,” he thought to himself, as he tied the tortoise up with a rope.
“Oh no! we’ve lost our friend!” cried the crow.
“No, there is still hope,” said the mole with a smile as he whispered a plan to his friends. With the tortoise in his back, the hunter headed back to the village. The path took him past a lake. He saw the body of a deer lying on the grass. A crow was sitting on the deer’s antlers, pecking at his eyes.
The hunter could not believe his luck. “I lost one deer, but looks like I found another! And I don’t even have to kill this one,” he said to himself. The tortoise smiled. His friends had come to rescue him. The hunter left the tortoise on the ground and ran toward the deer. The mole ran out of the bush and quickly cut the rope. The tortoise was free! “Friend tortoise, run!” cried the mole.
For tortoise, he moved really fast straight to the lake. Meanwhile, the hunter had almost reached the deer. The crow could see that the tortoise was now safe in lake. “Caw! Caw!” she cried and flew away. That was the signal! The deer sprang to his feet and ran away. The hunter had no chance of catching him. And when he turned back, he found the tortoise missing tThe four friends hurried back to the banyan tree. “Thank you friends for saving my life!” said the tortoise.
“No thanks needed,” said the deer with a smile, “As long as we help each other, we’ll always be safe”.

“MORAL OF THE STORY”
“A FRIEND IN NEED IS A FRIEND INDEED”
The Four Friends and the Hunter is a life-changing and amazing story. It is all about on the four friends, the crow, deer, mole and tortoise that showcase a great example of true friendships. I have learned that those people who are stays with you and help you at times of crisis, struggles and problem are your real friends. The people that help you without expecting in return are your true friends and they are the one who are worth keeping and loving for.
This reflect on my “The Langga” squad, they are Girlly, Dhodie, Trisha and Jemeline my best of friends that I value and love as myself. Our friendship start when we are in Grade 9 and we clicked because we share the same interest like dancing, singing and off course studying and honestly they are the best in that aspect. Our friendship become stronger up until now is when I become broke mentally and physically and I can’t see the light, the hope to carry on. But they become that light and the hope, they help to cope up, to step up and to be the better version of myself. They didn’t left instead they stay at my darkest days and give me inspiration without expecting something in return just like how the four friends did in the story. Today, they are my inspiration especially in my studies and no matter what happen, they are my best friend and still part of myself even though we are now apart from each other. Indeed, a friend in need is a friend indeed.

MODULE 6 Asian Literature (Indian Literature) Ramayana
Module 6 of this course is about the Indian literature. Indian Literature is believed to be the earliest literature of the world therefore, I find this interesting and a challenge because all my learning during my Junior High School were blurred. I have learned that Indian literature showcase the Indian culture, beliefs (religion) and even social and political event. Poetry, fables, folktales and the like are rich in their literature and tend to have many genres.
Because of its unique characteristics, Indian literature spread their reach in many countries like Persia, Egypt and Greece influencing their culture, way of life and even their beliefs. I have also learned that Indian people are hardworking and committed to what they belief because they give importance to their culture by learning it at a young age.
Language is a basic way of life and it is a means of communication. The Indian language Sanskrit is like a precious and it is like a delicate things that Indian people value the most making it sacred language of Hinduism. Sanskrit is used for chanting and has full of sounds that resonate in a special way. While Prakit is another Indian language which is the opposite of standard Sanskrit. It is the varieties of dialects. Prakit is used by Buddha to preach on ordinary people. By this Prakit language became an important element in classical drama. Honestly, it inspires to value and give importance to our language Filipino and in our culture. Also it made realized the effort I put in valuing our culture and language and making me stronger to step forward and go on.
In addition, Indian literature like Ramayana mirrors the history, life, culture, beliefs, values and even social and political disparities during Gupta Empire. It showcase that there is a problem in their social status in which is unfair and dirty. It made me realized that even before inequality is obvious. It made me think that Philippines is also having this kind of social problems that until today is still relevant in the society.
I also learned that India has a diverse beliefs and religion. In fact, most of the people in India are Hindus and amazingly they also have the 2nd Islam people in the world. Therefore, Indian literature is composed with diverse themes, values and culture. For me, this module is not hard to understand, if you are patience and able to read a lot of articles and other informative Indian related literature just like I did. I have understand this module.
To sum up, Indian literature is indeed interesting and unique kind of literature. It is mainly produced with a variety of vernacular languages making it the most interesting and complex of all the literature in the world. It is because they struggle with creation of concrete language as India has a diverse community and beliefs (religion). All in all, I have enjoy reading and I have learned a lot.

MODULE 5 Asian Literature (Chinese Literature) Confucius (Excerpt of his Analects)
Learning is fun and exciting. Studying become my hobby and “me time “since then. Doing this for many years made me feel like I am taking care of myself and making me feel fulfill and whole. It also made me reflect and think about myself and my future. So far, in the Module 5 in this subject GE-LIT 2 I have enjoy and learned a lot of things. Module 5 is all about Asian Literature specifically in Chinese literature and their famous philosopher Confucius.
I have learned first a glimpse of China’s history that able us to encounter the different period of Chinese Dynasty and empires and this certain dynasties has its own philosophy, culture, religion and literature. I was amazed by their culture and their ideas present in their literature. Chinese literature is the most imaginative and interesting I have studied because of its unbelievable ideas and philosophy. It resulted to a perfectly realized images in their writings also their themes are timeless making Chinese culture great.
In addition, what I really love Chinese literature is that it has different kind of philosophical schools namely the “The Hundred School of Thought”. These philosophical school made possible to the emergence of Chinese religion and philosophies. One of the philosophical schools is the ever popular Confucianism by Confucius a famous Chinese philosopher. It shapes Chinese interpersonal relationship, customs, rituals and ethics and all aspect of China are steeped in Confucius Philosophy. Confucianism is a governing system that advocate for treating others, right with kindness and respect. It also encourages the leaders to treat their subject with humanity and return their subject will show difference to their leaders.
It made me realized that China has similarity and difference to Filipino culture because we Filipino’s are inborn generous and loving. We help others even we also struggle to live and also we are respectful to others. These values is similar to their philosophy the Confucianism by Confucius. The difference between the two is on the history of political system because China has its own political system govern by their people. Yet, Philippine aren’t we are colonized by Spaniard, Americans and Japanese unable us to explore and discover our beliefs system and political capabilities early.
I also discover Confucius a great philosopher of China. He is a true inspiration in life who always reminding us to be wise and strong in any kind of situation. Discovering Confucius leads me to the 13 Excerpts the Analects of Confucius, living a life-changing quotation that I can use in my journey in life. In the emergence of this philosophy, their language also emerge the Classical Chinese in which the language that is used in many popular literary works of China like Confucian Classics and early Taoist writings.
All in all, China is indeed a great when it comes to literature. It has unique characteristic that can captures people attention and even making it a principles in life. I have learned a lot from Chinese literature and learning of all these, making my heart full and happy.
