Gachi Gachi Gachinko!!

The first episode of Beyblade Burst Gachi came out this April 5th. It’s a bit late but to celebrate, we found it appropriate to talk about Gachi and our new protagonist Koryu Drum!

There isn’t much to say about the new season with just one episode, but a lot of people have been theorizing a lot about it; mostly about if old characters will make a reappearance and etc. Sadly, there seems to be no mention of Aiga or anyone at all (so far). But we’ll have our fingers crossed!

In all honesty, GT seems like it will be following a much more lax route compared to previous seasons of the series. The episode length being only 12 minutes long. It seems to possibly focus more on beybattles (advertisement) as well. But there probably will be a tiny story, mostly involving on Drum (and Delta)’s goal of achieving the Bey of Light. (...You know)

Since they brought up BC Sol, you’d think there would probably be group battles... And there will be... we think! There is obviously a Beyclub present in the season, though it isn’t the Beigoma Beyclub.

Moving on...!!

We have our adorable new protagonist, Koryu Drum. His character profile on the official beyblade (jp) site says he’s a bright and kind character with a strong sense of justice, as obviously shown in the first episode. Please don’t let his face fool you, he only makes a scary face when he’s nervous. (Altair says he fits a “don’t judge a book by its cover” kind of deal... It’s cute.)

Fun fact: Drum’s family name, Koryu (虹龍) translates to Rainbow Dragon. Which is fitting considering his Gachinko Bey, Dragon, is already confirmed to have 3 different bases in total: Ace (attack), Gran (stamina), and Rock (defense). Altair: That’s absolutely adorable and very beyburst character-like! Very excited to see when he obtains the other bases in the series! [spoilers] I’m positive we’ll be seeing Gran Dragon soon after though.

Extra Talk for the other characters 

We have Aoi Valt (of course), so far being the only old character in the anime. He’s around 14 years old now, and (according to the manga) in the senior ranks. He grew up a lot, we manage to see him act much more maturely and patiently during his interaction with Drum. It’s unclear if he took back champion title, but we don’t think it changes much. Valt seems a lot more fitting for being a public speaker in the Beyblade World and sharing messages to Bladers across the world.

Then there’s Akane Delta, there’s not a lot about his character in the anime. We do know he’s a set rival for Drum during GT. His bey is unknown at the moment as well. There is a theory that Delta is the owner of “Gran Dragon”, but it wouldn’t make too much sense to have 3 characters with Dragon as their partner, considering Dragon is specifically Drum’s partner.

Next is Kusaba Amane and his brother Takane (I’m not sure how relevant the little brother would be) Amane’s bey is Bushin Ashura. His character design is very interesting considering not only does he have a bandana, he also has glasses? People seem to like him a lot. And his brother is a cutie patootie.

??? Moving on to the two characters shown in the opening; we thought it would be an injustice to not mention the girl with Zac the Sunshine colors. Wonder what her name is...?

And lastly, Kanemichi Fumiya. His name basically screams fancy rich kid, but who knows? Hilariously, he will be showing a lot sooner into the anime! Most likely the new owner of Fafnir (or he is) It was already something people saw coming. He looks like he runs a cult with how they show him in the opening. But... keep an open mind!
