"Thanks! Yeah, I make it from Abyssus trees. Real strong, it good bow," he explained, prideful smile never leaving his face. Turning to his side, he held the arrow at eye level and nocked the bow, tugging back on the string until his hand reached his cheek. Gnash lowered his bow and faced her again, nodding as if to add that is was only a demonstration. "That how use. You make that? Use like sword?"
A bow! Well, the boy was small enough that long ranged combat made the most sense for him to participate in. "It’s beautiful,” she commented. "Did you make it yourself?” The Selkie tribe seemed to be very community-based, from what she’d observed of the people. It didn’t surprise her that the group of them were good at something together.

"Hi, Lady," the boy greeted with a grin, actually pleased by her words. He wasn't used to such motherly comments, but they left a nice feeling. The selkie studied the woman, head at a tilt. She looked vaguely of a lilty but didn't seem to be the size or smell of one. "Name Gnash. Who're you?"

“My my~ Arent you just adorable! What is you’re name boy?” The Mymble cheerfully smies at the young selkie before her, He remind her of one of her many son who had such adorable face as his.

"Wow, queen lady sound tough. Keep all the baddies away!" Gnash smiled. He may not have been accustomed to rulers or authority, but he could appreciate anyone that fought to protect their people. From the expression the woman wore, he figured this queen must take good care of her kingdom. The town would be safe from monsters then, he hoped. The same could not be said for the capital back home. "You help fight the baddies?"
"We see who shoot farther! Might be close, I real good too!" The boy laughed, though he was confident that his skill level wouldn't be too far below hers. Still, he was hoping to learn something from watching her. He was self-taught, after all. Absently tugging at the string, he listened to her questions. Gnash gave a thoughtful hum, then nodded. "Thank you! Not hard, just take long time make right. First find good wood, then carve right shape. That take most time. Make string for bow from thin hide, twist together make strong. Then make loops at end of string, tie on frame. Bam! Have bow!"
"She’s able to lead an entire army by herself, so of course she’s able to lead an entire kingdom to a new era of peace," she nodded, beaming in delight at the mention of her queen. Her pride did not just stem from her being a knight under the queen, but it mostly came from seeing the queen’s dedication and compassion to her people, especially during the war. If it was not for her guidance back then, Fynn would not have had a chance against the Empire. Seeing such leadership firsthand was admirable enough, and given that the queen also extended a hand to her family when they were misplaced by the war, the archer had no qualms in returning the favor by working for the queen.
"I would be honored to see it! And in turn I’ll show you what I’m capable of. I’m always up for practicing with a fellow archer." she responded, tone filled with excitement at the thought. It wasn’t often that she had the chance to talk about her hobby with another, or rather, one that was not a knight like herself, so it was an nice change of pace to speak with another who had just as much passion about the sport as she did. When he retrieved his own bow and showed it to her, she took time to inspect it. It had notches and scrapes in the frame from use, but it still held strong.
“You made this bow? It’s amazing! I never knew anyone who could make their own bow aside from weapon-smiths, and even my own bows were either given to me or bought. Is the technique difficult? Do you remember how long it took to make this, especially since it lasted this long?”

"You want see? I show you!" Gnash nodded, retrieving the bow from his back. He presented it with a wide grin, quite proud of the hand carved details set in the wood. In his other hand, he held out an arrow with fine feathers hanging from its end. "This my bow. Selkie tribe good archers."
“I’ve trained very hard,” she agreed with a nod, unsure if she could say one way or another if she was strong. Though she was a Keyblade Master, so that must say something, right? "How do you fight, Gnash? Could you show me?”

"Oooh!" Gnash answered with an excited smile, coming a bit closer to the Keyblade. He had never seen a weapon like hers, it held no characteristics of the weapons forged by the four tribes. A nod signaled his admiration, it looked like something from another world entirely. The boy peered up at her, curiosity in his eyes as he asked, "What this? Sword? Look heavy, you must be real strong fighter."

Aqua couldn’t help but smile just as wide as the young boy at his confidence. He knew his abilities better than she possibly could, after all. So she decided to take his word at face value. Even further, he expressed worry about her abilities to protect herself. Luckily that was an easy question to answer: the woman held her hand out in front of her and summoned her Keyblade. The weapon appeared in a soft glow of light, and she showed it to Gnash. "I fight with this,” she explained. "I’ll be safe, I promise!”

"No king guy, just queen lady? Must be strong fighter, lead whole kingdom by self." The boy nodded, linking his fingers behind his neck as they walked. He watched the horizon, the kingdom gradually coming into full view. It seemed to similar to the capital city in his own kingdom, although this one was much larger. Visiting towns usually made him uneasy, but his guide was kind and he trusted her.
"Best in whole kingdom! You show me sometime, okay? I show you Selkie Power Shot say thank you!" He spoke with widened eyes, genuinely impressed by such a claim. Gnash could barely make out his childhood, but remembered growing up surrounded by skilled archers. It had been a long time since he had seen an archery style other than his own, a crude but effective form of his clan's traditional one. He retrieved the bow from his back, fingers tracing along notches and scrapes from use. "Have more than one bow. This favorite one. I make when very small, it last long time. Forest trees strong, still good all these years."
Maria nodded, taking a quick glance to the approaching town on the horizon. Now that they were a tad closer, it was much easier to see the stone wall enclosing over the town and the towers that stood at its corners, as well as the height of the castle standing proudly over the town in front of it. “You’re right.. It’s a fairly large kingdom, well protected too. And instead of a king living in the castle, we have a queen.”
She chuckled, beaming at the acknowledgement. “Well I don’t want to brag, but I am good enough to be one of the kingdom’s best archers. A lot of time and practice had to go into gaining that title.” That and having to quickly learn how to fight of demons and monsters in the middle of a war. But he didn’t need to know that detail. “This particular bow is made from wood only found in the southern continent,” she then answered. “It is not as strong as the Mythril bows made here, but it is durable and can sustain most damage. In fact, this is my longest standing bow. What about yours? Is the wood the bow is made out of considerably tough? How long have you been wielding that one?”

"Magicite. Use cast spells, make chime noise when use," Gnash insisted, scratching the back of his head. He gave a thoughtful hum, wondering if the other really hadn't ever seen one before. How else could people use magic? "Round ball, fit in hands. Green and shiny, help cast cure spell. Break open when drop on ground and spread the magic all around."
「 Virtue. 」
Magicite? Is that some kind of stone? Sure sounds like it. Not like he’s seen it before, though.
❝ Never heard of it. ❞ He could be wrong about not seeing it. Maybe he is—it wouldn’t be the first time that’s happened, that’s for sure. ❝ What’s it look like? Maybe I’ve seen it around someplace. ❞ Or maybe someone else would be able to point it out.

"Town up there?" He pointed ahead, to where a stone towers came into sight. Eventually the town could be seen completely, with the grand castle overlooking it. His mouth formed a circle, and a surprised exhale left him. "That not town. Got big castle, king guy live there? Must be city, yeah?"
"Me too! I learn use bow when very small. You must be real good, practice long time." The boy smiled, very pleased to have met another archer. He fell back a few steps to study her bow, giving an awed sound before again matching her pace. "It look real nice, what use to make? I use wood from Abyssus trees for bow, but Mythril bows in Rebena Te Ra look stronger."
"You’re welcome," she chuckled, keeping her pace even so the young man could keep up with her. "The town is not too far from here. You’ll be able to see it up close soon." Not that Fynn would be hard to miss. If one looked to the distance, one could see the outline of a large castle slowly emerging on the horizon.
As she walked, she noticed him observing the arrows she carried in her quiver. When he asked if she could shoot too, she had little problem in answering. “Yes I do. I’ve been doing so since I was young, so I know some of the best places to find arrows.” She then gestured to the bow on her back. “Plus I never leave home without my bow with me. Of course, I see you that you do the same with your own.”

"Nice meet you, Aqua. No one worry about me, I take care of me. I be okay, I good hunter!" He gave a prideful grin and gestured toward the bow on his back. Fingers tapped against his quiver as he studied her, finding no sword sheath or other weapon carrier. Gnash held his chin in one hand, head at a tilt. "You be okay? If monsters come, how fight them?"
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Gnash. Are you okay off by yourself? No one’s going to be worried about you, are they?” Aqua would be more than happy to talk to the kid longer, or to escort him back to his guardians. She was an adult, so it was her duty to make sure that he was safe (she knew that he was, if they were together, but his family didn’t).

"Aqua," he repeated, giving a nod. She had smiled at him, so the boy offered a grin in return and linked his fingers behind his neck. Aqua seemed as if she understood what a Selkie was, leaving him to wonder if she knew of this world's races or had agreed to be polite. For now, though, he would just answer her question. "Name... Name Gnash."
It had been a long time since Aqua had visited this world. Way back when she’d met Belle, in fact. Unfortunately she hadn’t had the opportunity to meet very many people at that time, but now she thought she should get to know the Selkies more. They certainly seemed like a fun people to be around.
“No, I’m not,” she agreed with a soft smile. “My name is Aqua. What’s yours?”
