1. It can help with tummy troubles.
Peppermint oil has been linked with reducing pain, stomach upset, and other symptoms of IBS, largely because of the anti-spasmodic effects of methanol found in the stuff. Some research has linked the anti-bacterial compounds in mint’s essential oils – carvone and limonene – to helping reduce your risk of potentially harmful bacteria, both the type found in affected food, and within your GI tract. What’s more, some early research has linked these compounds to helping reduce risk of foodborne illness when used in food storage and preservation. Generally, the wide array of immune-protecting nutrients found in different types of herbs and spices (including mint!) have been studied for their possible benefits in protecting our immune systems from disease-causing disruption, but with that in mind: More research still needs to be done to fully evaluate how impactful these substances are on protecting immunity. For now, adding mint to meals and snacks shouldn’t replace any of your current food safety practices, but they may enhance them!

We women are extremely secretive and we totally agree with it. Women do certain gross things but will never admit it and there is nothing you can do to make them admit it. In fact, a number of women can take a secret to the grave and you’ll never know they even had hidden secrets!
Well, the types of gross things discussed here are some things that all women do and are common in all of them. Things that women do but will never talk about it, not even with each other. Obviously, because they are kind of gross things. But hey, we’re human. We can be prim and pretty and complete slobs all at the same time but nobody else has to know that.
Check below 16 things that we all women do but never admits or discuss it with anyone!
1. Putting your used bras in the washing basket but then taking them out to wear them again because all the other you have are uncomfortable.
2. Checking your tampon or sanitary pads after it’s been used.

4. Taking off the bra as soon as we get back home. There’s no great feeling than this.

Superfood this, superfood that. The term gets bandied around way too much in the modern age.
But hold the press for this new fruit may well just earn its title.
The jujube – otherwise known as the red date – is being hailed as the new superfood (or superfruit if you want to get technical).
Used for thousands of years in the Far East, it’s believed to have tons of health and wellbeing benefits.
The red fruit is jampacked with vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients and contains 18 out of the 24 amino acids that the human body needs to make protein. That’s quite a lot in case you’re wondering.

Jujubes are also an adaptogen, meaning they can help reduce stress and anxiety as well as boosting your mood.
A recent study published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology even found that the fruit can help fight against breast cancer cells.
What’s more, it actually tastes nice (unlike a lot of the other superfoods out there). With a sweet taste, you can eat the jujube on its own or use it as a natural sweetener in teas and while cooking.
The only people who should probably avoid the jujube are those suffering with diabetes. The reason? They’re full of complex carbs which can wreak havoc with your blood sugar levels.
It seems like the nation has already responded with one health food store, Abakus Foods,saying that it has sold over 200,000 bags of jujubes in 2017 alone.

Please make sure to start from the 1 exercise and only after perfecting it work your way up to the more demanding ones to ensure a gradual progression and avoid any injuries. For example, if you are out of shape and just starting out, it may take several weeks before you’ll feel comfortable of advancing to a follow-up exercise. Remember not to push yourself too hard, a smart stretch must be controlled, gentle and continuous.
Diving Swan
Initial position. Lie on your stomach and leaning on the arms, lift your chest off the mat. Elbows should be pushed forward and placed wider than shoulders and the hands should be touching. Legs and toes are extended.
Breathing in, straighten the elbows and raise them to the sides on level with the shoulders and then raise your chest even higher. At the same time, lift slightly both legs off the mat;
Breathing out, roll forward onto your belly, as shown on the last illustration;
Breathing in, roll back into the intended position. Repeat 5 times, accompanying the rolls forward with exhalation, and the rolls back with inhalation.
Make Sure You:
As in the previous exercises, use the abdominal muscles to maintain stability of the spine and limit forward tilt of the pelvis to prevent pain in the lumbar spine;
In the intended position, use the spine extensor muscles to lift the chest, and the leg extensor muscles to raise the legs off the mat;
When rolling forward, tense the extensor muscles of the hip, lift your legs up and move your body weight forward to bring the chest to the mat;
In the next phase of the Diving Swan, make a reverse movement: lift chest up with the spine extensor muscles. Legs are coming down, but do not touch the mat;
Just like with the Stomach Rolls, maintain a mental image of the head, torso and hips in the form of a rocking chair, rolling on the floor.
Alternative Variant
Diving Swan can also be performed by raising his hands above the head rather than keeping them wide apart, as shown in the illustration above. The same hand position is maintained on the reverse roll as well. This increases the load of spine extensor muscles, but also helps to maintain a uniform curvature of the spine during the rolls.
Additional Notes
The Diving Swan exercise increases tone and muscle endurance of the spine and leg extensors. The aim of the exercise is similar as with the Stomach Rolls – maintaining a balanced position of the spine when performing various body movements in space, but the level of difficulty is much higher, because there is no support from the hands. In this regard, intensive work of many different muscle groups is required, including the abdominal muscles, which reduce the burden on the waist during the hyperextension of the spine.
This exercise should only be done after you have sufficiently mastered the simpler exercises of the program. Even if you managed a technically correct execution, the degree of hyperextension of the spine may be too high for some people. You should refrain from this exercise if you have medical contraindications. Because of the difficulty, it is recommended to start the exercise with reduced amplitude of the rolls, in order to avoid risk of injury. In the state of maximum extension, the exercise performs dynamic stretching of the spine and leg extensor muscles.
With the Diving Swan we conclude our exercise program aimed at strengthening your back muscles. When practiced regularly, these exercises will help you get rid of round back and discomfort in the spine and give you an optimal posture. Office workers and anybody who tends to sit a lot will find these exercises very helpful in alleviating problems and symptoms associated with prolonged sitting. Just make sure you start from the beginning and give yourself time to perfect each exercise before advancing on the next. When you complete the program, you can do the whole set of exercises before going to bed and after waking up for a strong and flexible back. Stomach Rolls
Initial position. Lie on your stomach, bend your knees and bring them on your hip. Take hold of the feet with your hands, as shown in the figure. Now, lift the head, chest and knees on the mat.
Breathing in, roll forward onto your belly, as shown in the figure;
Breathing out, roll in the opposite direction, from your stomach to the pelvis. Repeat the exercise 10 times.
Make Sure You:
During the exercise use the abdominal muscles to maintain stability of the spine and limit forward tilt of the pelvis to prevent pain in the lumbar spine;
In the initial position, use the spine extensor muscles to lift the chest, and the leg extensor muscles to raise the knees off the mat. Simultaneously, extensor muscles of the knee try to straighten the legs by overcoming the resistance of hands, which also helps to raise the upper torso;
To begin rolling forward use the leg extensor muscles in the hips, which are raised slightly above the knees, as well as the arm extensor muscles in the shoulders, to pull the feet slightly forward;
When rolling onto the pelvis, the feet are lowered and retracted due to hard work of the spine extensor muscles, which tend to raise your upper body against the force of gravity;
During the exercise, maintain a mental image of the head, torso and hips in the form of a rocking chair. When the chair is tipped forwards, the weight is transferred to the front (the upper part of the chest) and the rear portion (thighs) is removed from the floor. Conversely, when the chair leans back, the weight is transferred to the rear parts (thighs), and the front (chest) rises.
Additional Notes
The exercise is aimed at maintaining an unchanged the position of the body as it moves through space. Sustaining the body in this position requires the interaction of many muscles, including spine and leg extensors. It is also necessary to involve the abdominal muscles to lift the excessive load of the lumbar spine, as we learned throughout these series. This exercise should be performed only after you have mastered the previous exercises we elaborated previously. Even if you did a technically correct execution, the degree of hyperextension of the spine may be too high for some people. Although we use the exercise to strengthen the spinal extensor muscles and improve stability, it should be avoided if you are experiencing discomfort in the lower back or have certain medical conditions. As an added benefit, the exercise performs dynamic stretching of the flexor muscles of the shoulders, hip and spine.

Can Sex Trigger Cardiac Arrest?
Can having sex cause your heart to suddenly stop beating? A new study suggests that, although this can happen, it’s very rare.
In the study, researchers analyzed information from more than 4,500 people who experienced sudden cardiac arrest, a condition in which the heart abruptly stops beating due to problems with the heart’s electrical activity.
Among these cases, less than 1 percent of cardiac arrests occurred during or immediately after sexual activity, the study found.
The study is the first to examine sexual activity as a potential trigger for sudden cardiac arrest among the general population, the researchers said. The findings were presented today (Nov. 12) at the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions meeting in Anaheim, California, and are published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
“While sudden cardiac arrest is a devastating condition with a high chance of death, the likelihood of this occurring during sexual activity … was extremely low,” said Dr. Sumeet Chugh, medical director of the Heart Rhythm Center at the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute in Los Angeles and senior author of the study.
“This is a reassurance that can now be provided to heart disease patients, and will be based on actual data,” Chugh told Live Science.
In the rare instances in which sex was linked with cardiac arrest, almost all of the cases — 94 percent — were in men, the study found: Among men, about 1 in 100 cases of cardiac arrest were linked with sex, compared with just 1 in 1,000 cases among women.
People who experienced a sudden cardiac arrest during sex tended to be slightly younger, around 60 years old on average, than those who had a sudden cardiac arrest at other times, who were around 65 years old on average.
But those who had a sudden cardiac arrest during sex were just as likely to have a heart condition or be on heart medication as those who had a sudden cardiac arrest at other times.
The study also found that, even though sudden cardiac arrest linked with sexual activity was usually witnessed by the person’s partner, bystander CPR was performed in only one-third of cases. (Bystander CPR is CPR that is performed by a witness until an ambulance shows up.) These findings highlight the need to educate the public about the importance of CPR for sudden-cardiac-arrest patients, the researchers said.
“Multiple research studies have shown that CPR performed by bystanders … can improve the chances of survival from cardiac arrest,” Chugh said. “It stands to reason that if CPR is learned [and] performed by all sexual partners, there is a good possibility of improving survival.”

Dirty money typically implies some illegal activity. But in this instance, it’s literally the gross situation going down in your wallet. Is there any truth to those urban legends about the unpleasant stuff hitching a ride on the backs of your Benjamins? Let’s just say we recommend carrying credit over cash.
Dolla Dolla Germ Ya’ll
Paper money does a lot of traveling from person to vending machine to grocery store to piggy bank and beyond. Along the way, these bills pick up a lot of hitchhikers. A 2017 study published in PLoS ONE highlights all the, uh, disturbing details.
The study, performed by New York University and IBM Almaden Research Center researchers, looked at $1 circulating around New York City in February (Winter) and June (Summer) 2013. The study identified more than 100 different strains of bacteria on the dollar bills, the most common being Propionibacterium acnes (a bacterium known to cause acne) and Streptococcus oralis (a common bacterium found in our mouths).
There’s a lot of non-human associated stuff crawling around on there too, though. The study also detected DNA from our pets, disease-causing viruses and bacteria, and Lactococcus lactis and Streptococcus thermophilus on the bills, microbes typically associated with dairy production and fermentation.
As for the urban legend stuff, yes, a significant percentage of paper currency also carry traces of drugs. In 1996, it was reported that cocaine was present on 79 percent of currency samples analyzed. Most had just a teeny tiny amount (0.1 micrograms), but still, you catch our drift. A 2001 study found that morphine, heroin, methamphetamine, and amphetamine can also be found on bills, though less commonly than cocaine.
This study found how money can have “molecular echoes” of human activity. Not unlike how strontium in your teeth can tell scientists where you’ve lived, ATMs can reveal differences in culture from different geographic regions. A 2016 study published in Applied and Environmental Science identified the “urban microbiome” found on ATM keypads from different New York City neighborhoods. By recovering traces of DNA from the keypads, researchers found that people in central Harlem ate more chicken than those in Flushing and Chinatown, who ate more species of bony fish and mollusks.
We’re not just trying to gross you out. As reported by The Washington Post, identifying foods that people eat or the drugs people use based on interactions with money might seem random and useless, but it’s not. Scientists can use this data to understand patterns of disease. The good news is that most of the microbes the researchers in New York identified do not cause disease. A 2002 study suggests that disease-causing strains of bacteria or virus could be passed along with our currency. Just wash your hands well and often, please.

Winter is fast approaching, and with it comes the challenges of getting through cold weather, frosty windows, freezing locks, cold beds and, for some, snow. Often, when bad weather hits, you have to get up early to deal with the unpleasant consequences, giving your day a rough start. Rather than feeling like you’re just responding to what winter sends your way, you can actually get ahead. Below are 14 great winter survival hacks that can take the sting out of inclement weather. 1. Go solar. In a “green earth” world, nothing is friendlier than to use solar. Apartment Therapy recommends using the sun to your advantage during the winter. Open your curtains, letting the sunshine in and heating your home. 2. Face east. Another “green” solution is given by one good thing. If you have the ability to park your car so that it faces east in the morning, you can let the sun do the work of defrosting your windshield as it rises. 3. Reverse your fan. People seem to think that fans are only good for summertime use, but what they don’t understand is that fans simply circulate the air. During the winter, Apartment Therapy recommends reversing the direction of ceiling fans so that hot air (which rises) is pushed back down to the floor, keeping a room toasty warm. 4. Pre-warm your bed. If you’re cold or your house is cold, then take the time to warm your bed before climbing in. Thegoodstuff recommends using either a hot water bottle or an electric blanket to take the chill off your bed. 5. Create a hand warmer. Thegoodstuff gives the idea of making your own hand warmer by using two Ziploc bags and some sidewalk salt. Place the sidewalk salt in one bag and water into a smaller bag inside the salt. When you need a warmer, simply pop the inner water bag and shake. If you have a microwave handy, Bob Villa’s hand warmer is easier. Just put rice in a sock and microwave it.
6. Defog your windshield. Nothing is more frustrating than having to wait for your windshield to defrost. One good thing recommends spraying shaving cream on the inside of your windshield and wiping it off. This is supposed to keep it from fogging on cold mornings. 7. Keep kitty litter in the car. Since moisture in the car is why windows tend to fog, finding a way to remove the moisture is helpful. Another tip from one good thing is to keep kitty litter in a sock in the car. The kitty litter will absorb moisture in the air and help keep your windows from fogging. 8. Use anti-icing windshield washer fluid. If your windshield should ice or frost over, a homemade mixture of 1 quart alcohol, 1/2 cup water and 1 teaspoon dish soap will quickly cut through the ice according to Apartment Therapy. 9. Spray WD40. To keep your car locks from freezing, plan ahead. As winter approaches, spray some WD40 in the keyholes. The lubricant will keep the locking mechanism from freezing in cold weather, says one good thing. 10. Use cooking spray. What? Use Pam on the car? One good thing recommends spraying door cracks with cooking spray to keep car doors from freezing shut.
11. Put a sock on it. If you live where there’s freezing rain or snow that melts and freezes, you’ll appreciate this tip. To keep your windshield wipers from freezing to the windows, Bob Villa says to put socks on them to keep them snow- and ice-free. One good thing adds to the idea by telling you to raise your windshield wipers so they don’t freeze to the car. 12. Oil your shovel. If you get the joy of shoveling snow, then you understand that heavy snow tends to stick to the shovel, making your job harder. Thegoodstuff says to rub vegetable oil, paraffin wax or cooking oil on your shovel to keep the snow from sticking.
13. Use plastic. If you should get caught with frost on your windshield and don’t have an ice scraper handy, pull out a gift card, credit card or debit card. One good thing shares that they make great ice scrapers in a pinch. 14. Bag your mirrors. If you know bad weather is coming in ahead of time, thegoodstuff says to plan ahead and take the time to put some plastic baggies on your side-view mirrors. You can hold them in place with a rubber band or tie. With so many good ideas, winter doesn’t have to be your nemesis. You can navigate the pitfalls of cold weather and come out smiling on the other side.

Dear Mom, Like every normal girl, I was excited about marriage right from my childhood days. I never thought beyond the time that I would spend happily with my prince charming. But today when I am married, I realize that marriage is not all roses. It’s not just about being with your beloved and having a gala time. There is so much more to it.
It comes with its own share of responsibilities, duties, sacrifices and compromises. I can’t wake up anytime I want to. I am expected to be up and ready before everyone else in the family. I can’t laze around in my pyjamas throughout the day. I am expected to be presentable every time. I can’t just go out anytime I want to.
I am expected to be sensitive to the needs of the family. I just can’t hit the bed anytime I want to. I am expected to be active and around the family. I can’t expect to be treated like a princess but am supposed to take care of everyone else in the family. And then I think to myself, ‘why did I get married at all?’ I was happier with you, mom.
Sometimes I think of coming back to you and getting pampered again. I want to come home to my favourite food cooked by you every evening after a nice outing with friends.
I want to sleep on your laps like I have no worry in this world. But then I suddenly realize, had you not got married and made such sacrifices in your life, I wouldn’t have had so many wonderful memories to hang on to. And suddenly, the purpose of all this becomes clear- to return the same comfort, peace and happiness to my new family that I got from you. And I am sure that as time would pass, I would start loving this life equally as you do.
Thank you mom for all the sacrifices and compromises you made. They give me the strength to do the same. Love you.

Namely, baby formulas were discovered to contain melamine, which is a chemical used in the production of plastics. Moreover, many babies in China died as a result of the chemically polluted baby formulas.
Even though all baby food products are said to be completely organic, safe, and natural, they are often high in processed sugar and preservatives.
Therefore, it might take some time to research and gain the knowledge needed to find the best organic products for your baby, it is worth it in the long run.
Grace’s mom, Shan, says that as soon as her daughter grows old enough to understand her preferences in terms of their diet, she will give her the opportunity to choose whether she will continue with the healthy diet or not.
When Grace was only 13 months, her mom told the Daily Mail:
“If she eats a piece of bread I’m not going to have a conniption. She’s going to go to kids’ parties and eat what’s there. I’m never going to go to Grace, ‘You can’t eat anything at this party, but I packed you some kale, here you go.’
Shan has fought with food allergies all of her life, so she needed to make her own diet in order to prevent such issues and function normally. She stopped eating gluten, dairy, and processed foods.
She believes that their diet rich in nutrients is the main reason for the strong immune system of her baby. Grace is not prone to coughs and colds as other children, and she has had a cold only once in her life.
“She’ll be old enough to know she can choose whatever she wants to eat. She’ll probably come home jacked up on sugar and cake and say, ‘mum I don’t feel very well’
And next time instead of eating 12 cupcakes she might only eat three. Females particularly have enough problems with eating disorders… I want Grace to eat what makes her feel good.”
We all want out children to eat what makes them happy, and more and more people are becoming aware that this is definitely not sugar. Yet, not everyone is so determined to make the switch. Are you?
