Thunder stroll to Friendly win over Baddow Spartak Reserves
Thunder were on top form in this friendly match against Baddow Spartak Reserves. Lining up with Hamilton in goal a back line of Sherrington and Darvill. The midfield had Barker on the right Bashford on the left and captain McEachern in the middle. Watkins was the lone striker in attack. With Hicks Honeywood and White unavailable Greenwood was the lone sub. Thunder controlled the game from the off. Greenhill replaced Darvill on 10 mins. Thunder were working hard for each other winning the ball and looking for the pass. Darvill rejoined the play on 20 mins with Greenhill making way. The goal came on 24 mins with a cross from Darvill hit on the half volley in to the back of the net by Watkins 1-0. Half time saw the re introduction of Greenhill for Darvill. Thunder continued to dominate hitting the wood work twice. Darvill emerged on 35 mins replacing Greenhill. Watkins had a number of half chances that were well saved by the Baddow keeper. On 40 mins with Watkins struggling with a hip injury he was replaced by Greenhill. A few rash challenges by Baddow had the crowd in uproar but the players kept their heads and were rewarded with a goal from a trade mark Greenhill corner swung into the box which deflected of a Baddow player and in to the back of the net on 47 mins 2-0. Greenhill made it 3-0 on 49 mins to wrap up a convincing and deserved win.

STORM HIT EIGHT - READY FOR HOME STRAIGHT
Storm could have inflicted more damage on Notley but nonetheless this result consolidates their position in the league and talk of a league and cup double may not be so fanciful after all.
In the first half Storm were lacklustre, making hard work of a heavy pitch and a determined Notley side, to find themselves at 1:1 at half time. Hewitt gave Storm the lead within one minute after a text book Brewer corner. The army of travelling fans (9) expected to press on and dominate. Notley though, to their credit, dug in deep to stifle Storm's creativity and fully deserved their equaliser.
Broomfield re-assembled in the second half rejuvenated, refreshed and bolstered by the introduction of Kingsnorth. Instantly Brewer and Kingsnorth made light of the mud and started to dance. Within two minutes Storm were ahead through a Brewer left foot rifle, moments later his delicate pass found Kingsnorth to make it three. Within seven minutes of the re-start Brewer made it four with aplomb.
Storm took their foot off the accelerator and Notley pulled one back despite admirable goal keeping from Goodwin. Notley continued to press but the defensive duo of Scully and White stood firm. Thereafter Storm dominated. Housden on for Wilkes (withdrawn by his agent due to a licensing issue) was involved in some fine passing play with Hewitt. Kingsnorth taunted his opposite number on the right wing. In a hurry and flurry of activity Brewer netted two more, either side of a brace from Hewitt, to give Storm a commanding 8:2 victory.
