Why are you not stepping aside????
Entitlement in this fandom goes crazy. The other blog has been back for a little over a day - it's perfectly reasonable to allow people to wrap up the conversations they're having here before we migrate back.
Aside from some people dead-set on being jerks, I just want to thank you so much Admin! You've been fantastic and I really appreciate the dedication to the community by providing this insane space! I've had a lot of fun on this iteration of the complain blog :)
Thank you. I tried. Definitely some things I could've done better, but I appreciate the kind words. I appreciate all the nice comments and also the criticism, that I've received.
Also thanks again to the people that send me papers and studies.

The great bg3 fandom critical schism of 2025 is upon us. The fandom critical active orthodoxy vs the fandom critical reactive separatists.
I never expected there to be two schisms.

Cazador is a beautifully written villain. The fact that he's motivated by pure sadism and spite and reveals in having absolutely dominion over other people for its own sake is actually scarily realistic.I think there was actually more thought and care put into Cazador (and the vampire subplot in general) than any of the other villainsactually. Not every bad guy has to be sympathetic or redeemable.
this has to be bait ?!

NOTE: i am NOT the owner of the original blog or its sucessor and do not claim to be. I am only standing in for now, as i have the time and enjoy reading the asks. If/when that blog resumes activity, i will step aside.
Why are you not stepping aside????
Like I explained before: I will be publishing asks that come in for a bit more and then close the blog down!

EA Gale is like the Neanderthal. A prototype best left in the past. We have Gale of Waterdeep now so let's leave Gale of Tampa Bay where he belongs - erased from all memory.

am i the only one who think EA Gale wasn't ugly?
As someone who didn't play EA, I think the issue is that I'm so used to full release Gale so looking at EA Gale is such a jumpscare. It's similar enough to know he's supposed to be Gale, but strange enough that it's a bit uncanny valley.

He's mentioned multiple times to be a consumate sadist who likes to inflict pain for no reason or ultimate end goal.
He does it because he can.
that's exactly why he's a poorly written character

I regret to inform you all that I am not, in fact, in favor of all Gales. Billy Ray Gale is the stuff of nightmares and I cannot abide him.
Skill issue.
I'm a fan of all the Gale’s.
Give me all of them.
Let's see: early access Gale, full release Gale, neurodivergent Gale, neurotypical Gale, thin Gale, fat Gale, ripped Gale, Dad Gale, Dad free Gale, pregnant Gale, trans Gale, cis Gale, fem Gale, God Gale, professor Gale, adventurer Gale, AU Gale, canon Gale, Dark!Gale, good Gale, kind Gale, ambitious Gale, OOC Gale, sweet Gale, android Gale, vampire Gale, tiefling Gale, succubus Gale, drow Gale, magician Gale, fighter Gale, regency Gale, fairytale Gale, mermaid Gale, werewolf Gale, and every other form of Gale out there.
I am not normal about this fictional character. Just give me something with him in it, and I will read or reblog it.
Yes, I have touched grass today.

I thought the ask about Astarion fans starting a cult was kinda funny considering that the fandom is quietly dying and Astarion is nowhere near as popular as he used to be. In a few years he'll be pretty much forgotten and no one will remember the Astarion fangirls for anything because let's face it, they never really did anything super crazy or really that interesting besides write a bunch of horny self-insert fanfic and say some stupid stuff on TikTok.

re: the cazador sex anon
there's a few reasons. he's twisted and loves power, and this is a way to exercise power of people, to make them feel helpless and worthless
but more than that, the dialogue when you pull cazador out of the coffin suggests he's also detached from pleasure, desires, etc due to living so long as a vampire. in astarion's origin, he mentions his trigger is being told what to do during sex. personally i think cazador is also trying to live through his spawn in a particularly sick way

I always thought that Cazador made his spawn sleep with the victims that they were forced to lure to his palace just to humiliate and hurt then. He's mentioned multiple times to be a consumate sadist who likes to inflict pain for no reason or ultimate end goal. It's implied when you visit Cazador's palace that he routinely forced his spawn to act as sex slaves for his fancy rich guy parties and let his wealthy patriar guests do whatever they wanted with Astarion and his siblings. There's no objective reason why he forced Astarion and the others to eat decaying rats and insects or why he doesn't even let them have decent clothing or why he makes them sleep in a tiny room with no privacy. He does it because he can.
This is why I kind of side eye people who think there's no way Cazador could have forced himself on Astarion et all instead of just subjecting them to rape by proxy. It's kind of obsess that Cazador was a complete monster who had no ethical limitations and literally anything was on the table.

The original critical blog is back on active. FINALLY YOU CAN STOP HEHEHEH
Damn, if they are truly going to be active again, this blog will have completed it's mission.
I will continue publishing asks, for some time more. If the other blog is going to become truly active again, I'll go into hibernation until I'm needed again
