Comparison and Contrast: Brave and Mulan

The Brave movie was set in Scotland in the mythical time and featured a redheaded girl named Merida. She is a free-spirited 16-year old, who is an archer and daughter of royalty. Merida is an impetuous and headstrong girl that wants to control her own destination, instead of thinking for her prince charming to come. Meanwhile, the movie Mulan was set in China that was based on the Chinese folk tales about a peasant girl who takes her father’s spot in the Emperor’s army. This movie tells the story of the girl named Mulan. She was a brave and courageous woman yet sensitive on the inside. Mulan is a daughter of a great warrior. She sacrifices herself to join the battle for the sake of her aging father. The two movies have the same genre which is animation. Though they have the same genre they differ in some of the messages it conveys. Merida shows independence, she does not want to rely on someone. She desires not to be the red curly girl who is a princess but desires to make a name for her and be someone that is different from what people see. In comparison with the movie Mulan, Mulan also showed an independence because she made a big decision that she will disguise as a guy for the sake of her father. She joined the battle with determination and courage. And, because of this war, she had learned new things that all you have to do is not give up. In Mulan movie, it conveys the message that there was gender discrimination, unlike the Brave movie that was all about independence and believing in yourself.

Cause and Effect: Super Typhoon Yolanda 🌪

Typhoon Haiyan commonly known as Typhoon Yolanda was the record-holder for strongest typhoon that struck the Philippines with a estimated, one minutes winds of 195 MPH (314 km) per hour, the highest wind speed recorded at landfall. It is the deadliest typhoon that lands on the Philippines. More than 27,000 people have been recorded injured and took the lives of over 6,300 Filipino.

There were many casualties even when they were warned by the officials of a storm surge because people insisted to stay in their houses knowing that the typhoon will reach their place soon out that will wash away their houses and might even kill them. They will only evacuate when they feel unsafe staying in their houses. Meanwhile, others are stuck in their places and waiting for the authority to rescue them. If people will only listen, they will be alive by now and the number of people dead will be lessened.

There are five different kinds of the friend. The loyal best friend, the fearless adventurer, the brutally honest confidant and the wise mentor. The loyal best friend, this is the kind of friend who knows everything in you, your past, your deepest and darkest secrets, your insecurities, your unforgettable and embarrassing moments, your crush and even the last time you drunk and throw up. But, still loves you the same. The fearless adventurer, this friend is the one who will take you to another dimension of the world where you can meet up new people, ideas, culture, beliefs, and philosophy. The brutally honest confidants are the kind of friend where you can hear a harsh truth, the one who is honest and confident to tell you about what she feels about you or the certain situation you are experiencing. Lastly, the wise mentor, this friend is like your parents who will have the patience and wisdom to guide you on the right path, who inspires you to be a better person and encourage you to still go on and never give up in life.

The term suicide describes the act of taking one's own life. There are various kinds of suicide, so our first task is to clarify our use of the term. Within this article, we are referring to suicide in the conventional sense, in which someone plans out or acts upon self-destructive thoughts and feelings, often while they are experiencing overwhelming stress. “Assisted suicide” occurs when a physician helps a terminally ill person to die, avoiding an imminent, inevitable and potentially painful decline. Our current discussion of suicide does not address assisted suicide.

The intent of suicidal behavior, whether consciously or unconsciously motivated, is to permanently end one's life. Truly suicidal acts (or, as they are sometimes called, "gestures") need to be distinguished from other self-harming, self-injurious, or parasuicidal acts and gestures which are also deliberate, but not intended to cause death. Descriptive

Life was too short 🌺🌸

The sky was calm. The people were busy on their own business, standing beside the street talking with their neighborhood while others are sweeping in front of their houses and kids are playing patintero. I was with my cousin who is taller and thinner than me. We were walking on a street that was full of dried leaves that was fallen out from the trees. It's 5:30 in the afternoon. We were tasked to go to plaza to buy foods. The plaza was peace like a war was over. The sun still shone and it was beaming direct to my face. My body was sweating and starting to become itchy. It turns red because I was scratching it the whole time. We bought hot cake and fishball then we sat on the chess table, laughing and talking there. And my cousin suddenly told me that we should go home because it's already dark. While walking home, the wind started to blow and leaves are on the air as if they're playing with the wind. We passed on my lolo's house. I saw people that was gather there to start an activity. They were setting the drum, they are connecting the chords of the speaker to the guitar and arranging the chairs. I hurried to go home to change my clothes because it doesn't smell good and I need to put the food that we bought onto our house. As I walked, I heard a drum that was playing. They already started. I entered the gate and I saw my lola sitting there at the back. She's wearing black. I sat beside her. The pastor was praying and the youth started to sing a worship songs. All of my relatives have a black pin on their clothes. I went inside the house. It was full of flowers and candles and people are sitting there and talking. My lolo was lying inside a coffin.

Apple and Orange

Apple has many shape, it can be round, oblong, oblate, oblique and iconic unlike the orange, only one, which is round. Apple's outer peels appear in different colors such as yellow, green and red depending upon the cultivar type whereas the other one depends on where it grows. It's green skin turns orange when the weather cools and it stays green when it's always hot because the chlorophyll is preserved. Apples are not planted by seeds, trees would grow from these seed itself as opposed to orange, orange tree will grow by planting a seed of it. Orange fruits seasons begin from October and lasts until February but the apple is from December until February. When it comes to their benefits, apple contains fiber that make you feel full and eat less, soluble fiber that helps lower the LDL cholesterol and insoluble fiber which promotes regular bowel movement conversely to orange, it contains vitamin C to maintain healthy bones and teeth, it is an anti oxidant that fight free radicals that promote chronic diseases.

Frozen and The Good Dinosaurs

The movie "Frozen" and "The Good Dinosaurs" was released in the year 2017. Even though, both movie have the same genre which is animation, they differ in the message it conveys. Frozen movie is about the relationship between the sister whereas other one is, friendship. Frozen movie showed the journey of Anna - sister of Elsa and Kristoff when they are looking for Elsa. Elsa left Arenddale because the whole kingdom knows about his ice power and the live with fear. When Anna turn into ice, Elsa hugged her, then suddenly Anna got back to normal and they both realize that, that was true love is. In comparison, the emotional journey of the movie "The Good Dinosaurs" showed the friendship unfold between Arlo, the Apatosaurus and his human friend - Spot. While traveling, the pair faces raptors and pterodactyls that are up to no good. But it is the nature that gives them their biggest challenge. From flash floods, sudden weather changes, a raging river that has no mercy, to a treacherous trek that test Arlo like never before. Frozen tells us that man in life does not need to save you from everything. The real magic is the power of love between two sisters. Unlike the other one, is overcoming one's fear, the value of friendship and self- discovery.

I entered the abandoned place. I was followed by an unseen creature. A tear started to fall. I was weeping. I kept on walking until I heard a voice calling out my name. The alarm clock rang. I opened my eyes. I checked my phone, its 4 am in the morning. I stood up and switch on the light. Daddy entered into my room.

Paced Narration

I saw a door. I opened it and I entered. It was so dark. It was an abandoned place where people used to live there and something terrifying happened that someone took the lives out of them. I was so scared. I can't even move my feet. The beating of my heart was loud as the drum rumble. There was a flashlight that I am holding. I kept on walking until I stepped onto something that cause me to stop and I looked at it, it was a bone of human and creepy creatures that I have never seen before. I screamed and decided to run. I was weeping. I kept on running and searching a door for me to get out of that place. Then, suddenly, I heard a a voice calling out my name. I felt someone is following me but I didn't dare to looked back because of the feeling that I was so scared to look at their faces whatever or whoever they are. I ran as fast as I can do then suddenly I fell on a dark hole that is full of creepy creatures that are trying to swallow me. The alarm clock rang. I opened my eyes. I checked my phone, it's 4 am in the morning. Sweat was all over my body. It was so hot but as I looked at the aircon , the temperature is 23 C. It was just a dream I said. I stood up and switched on the light. As I walked, going back to my bed someone was knocking at my door. I asked if who is that but I didn't get a reply back. Then, he was trying to open the door. It was my dad telling me that I should woke up and review my notes for the mid term. I sighed, I thought the creepy creatures followed me and I'm on another dream again but,no, it was my dad.
