Myth of the day: Medusa
Medusa was a priestess in Athena's temple, one of her favourites. Posideon fell in love with her, but he could not sleep with the girl, since the priestess in ancient Greece couldn't have any kind of relationship.
But the god could not stop thinking about her, so, one dark night, he went to the temple, made sure no-one was looking and then, he raped her. Athena found out, and, filled with rage, punished the mortal for breaking her vow. The goddess transformed her into a monster with snakes instead of hair, claws instead of hands and enormous bat wings behind her back. As if this wasn't enoug, Athena finished her curse by saying: "No one will ever be able to see your face ever again, for those who do, will become stone."
The goddess also cursed Medusa's sisters with a similar apearence, and made them immortal, so they could keep company to the younguest one.
(Personal opinion): I don't think Athena punished her, I think the goddess only wanted to protect her from the gods, since they only wanted mortals by their appearence.

Myth of the day: Arachne
Long ago, in ancient Greece, there was a girl named Arachne. She was beautiful, and very talented at sewing. The people of her village would go to her and ask for tapestries or just watch her work. Because of that, Arachne developed a huge ego, and she even claimed she was better than Athena herself.
Athena heard so, in her palace, and decided to put that mortal into place. So she disguised herself as an old woman, and flew to Arachne's village. The goddess arrived to the mortal's doorstep, that was full of people. She was quite impressed with the talent of the young woman, as she was almost as good as the goddess.
Just then Athena decided to speak: "You are very good at this, my dear." Arachne stopped working just to look at the old woman, and answered: "I'm better than Athena herself." In that exac moment, the goddess reveled herself, and, full of rage, challenged the mortal to a duel. The one with the better tapestry would win.
And so, they began sewing. Their hands moved along with the strings that was almost impossible see them, as fast as they were going. Finally, they finished their work. Arachne's tapestry was the prettiest of the two, but the crowd (who were also the judges) declared that the winner was Athena, since they were all afraid of her.
Athena started to do a speech, humiliating Arachne. The young mortal decided to hang herself, but the goddess saw that, so transformed the girl into the first spider ever, doomed to sew forever.

Myth of the day: Apollo and Hyacinth
Apollo had a young lover, Hyacinth. They loved spending time together, playing music, chatting with eachoter... Their favourite game was throwing the disc. It was perfect, except for one bit.
The god of the west wind, Zephyrus, was gealous about this relationship, since he was also attracted to Hyacinth. So one day, when the two lovers were playing at throwing the disc, Zephyrus intervened, and, with his wind, made Apollo's disc change its course. The object went directly to the mortal's head, killing him in an instant. Apollo, devastated, transformed Hyacinth's body into some beautiful flowers to honour his memory.

Myth of the day: Pyramus and Thisbe
Pyramus and Thisbe were neighbours, and they were pretty close. They had always been neighbours, great friends when they were kids, and lovers when they grew up. But their parents had engaged them with other people, and forbid them to see each other.
One day, the two lovers found a crack on their respectives bedroom wall, that connected the two houses. They started talking through there, and a few nights later, they decided they would scape once the sun hid, so they could live together forever.
They decided to meet at a fountain, and Thisbe arrived first. There she found a lion playing around the white blackberry bushes and cleaning itself after the hunting (since it was covered in blood). The young woman, scared, ran away and hid behind a rock, but her veil fell, so the lion played with it. Not long after, Pyramus arrived, and found the veil, which was covered in blood. He thought that the lion killed his lover, so he killed himself using his dagger. His blood splashed the blackberrys, which changed colour to a dark shade of purple.
Meanwhile, Thisbe left her hiding, and found the corpse of his lover, with his dagger into his chest. Then, Thisbe decided that she didn't wanted to live without him, so she used the very same dagger to end her life.
After their sad story, the gods decided that, from now on, the blackberrys would be the darkest shade of red, so no-one would forget the blood that the two lovers left behind.

Myth of the day: Iphis and Ianthe.
Once upon a time, there was this couple. The husband wanted to have a male child. He even told his wife that, if they had a female, he'd kill the child. The wife, worried, asked for help, and so Isis, the goddess of magic, appeared. The goddess told the wife that, no mater the gender of the child, she'd help to rise it.
After that, the wife gave birth to a beautiful girl, who they named Iphis. She was raised as a man (dressed like one, educated like one...) so her father wouldn't kill her.
Years passed, and Iphis grew, ready for marriage. She was supposed to marry Ianthe, a girl who she fell in love with. The mother of Ianthe began to worry, since she knew that, during the night after the ceremony, people would discover that she didn't had a son, but a daugther. So she prayed to Isis, and the goddess, doing her magic, granted her wishes. When they left the temple, Iphis changed, transforming to a male. So he could finally marry the woman he loved, and they lived happily ever after.

As an aroace nonbinary person, it irks me so much when people assume I watch a show because I have a crush on the male character. As if that's the only reason I could watch a show. As if I don't have anything better to do with my life or free time than gush over a pretty dude. As if I can't recognise beauty, skill, and quality in a movie/show, or that I can't appreciate stunning cinematography and an otherworldly soundtrack. As if my mind is that simple that the only thing I am capable of valuing is just a handsome face.
But also, yeah, I am watching that show for that one pretty actor
