I’ve been working on this post on and off for the last few months. I always intended to post it during Pride Month, and hey, here we are. I’ve got a lot going on in my life right now, so this might be the last book rec post for quite a while.

When possible, I’m linking to the Queer SFF Book Database since it has information on trigger warnings and links to reviews by queer readers. When not in the database of 6/15/20, I’ll be linking to Goodreads. Links are all below the cut.

Do not recommend cis authors on this post. This post is for centering trans and nonbinary authors. Please note that trans people write all sorts of stories and protagonists, and these books don’t automatically have trans or queer protagonists.

If you’re looking for a starting place on trans SFF, I strongly suggest the Transcendent anthology series as an overview. It’ll introduce you to a wide array of incredible stories from trans and nonbinary authors. 

This list does not cover all of the amazing trans and nonbinary authors writing science fiction and fantasy! There are many more, and please feel free to suggest them here.

Toilet-Bound Hanako Kun episode to manga chapter S1

I’m writing this so those who watched the anime but would like to read the same chapters in the manga but don’t wont to be spoiled have a guide. Especially since the anime goes in a different order than the manga’s arcs

Episode 1- Hanako-san of the Bathroom 

Chapter 1 (titled: Hanako-san of the bathroom) will cover episode 1 entirely

Episode 2- Yousei-san

Chapter 2 (titled: The faeries) the Mokke rumor uses the name faeries instead of Yousei-san, this is the first half of episode 2.

Chapter 3 (titled:The Boy Exorcist) This the second half of episode 2, obviously it’s the first encounter of Kou

Chapter 16 (titled: The little mermaid, Part 1) The beginning of the chapter finishes the scene where Tsukasa interrupts Hanako and Nene donut talk but it is not revealed yet in this chapter who tsukasa was or that him and Sakura were changing the rumors. 

As you can guess from the title this the mermaid episode. Mitsuba is also not mentioned yet probably because Sakura hasn’t been shown to broadcast his rumor yet.

Episode 12- The Little Mermaid

Chapter 16 (titled:The little mermaid, Part 1 ) The beginning part of chapter is about Tsukasa interrupting Hanako and Nene and then Hanako freaks out and leaves for the day. The transition is that the puffer fish witnessed this and why Nene is class she is like “i guess people from different species can’t really understand each other” and when Aoi-chan asks what she fell in love with this time Nene relies Donuts and quietly says maybe it would be better if I was an supernatural too.

Chapter 17 (titled:The little mermaid, Part 2 ) The second half focuses back on to the reveal of Tsukasa and Sakura and I don’t know if there is a spoiler for what happens to the fish after they Leave Hanako and Nene, because I don’t know if they will get mentioned again in the anime’s season 2 or not.

Chapter 36 (titled: Something to be delivered) Our lovely Hananene moment in the classroom here…Oh wait don’t read this because second half is all spoilers in this chapter, in fact they gave a summary of recent events

Chapter 23-29 will be in season 2 so definitely spoilers

At the end of episode 12 when Tsukasa paints the wall of up coming plans it, looks like arcs that will come up in season 2 will be “The Three clock keepers, Mokke of the dead and Perfect Picture/Daydream” .They are some really heavy heart hitters.
