genuinely the best advice for learning a new language is to talk to kids. and it's not because they speak more simply or anything (they don't) it's because they tell you to your face when you fuck up. adults will just sit and smile and nod as you're fumbling through their language trying to be polite but a kid will be like "that's NOT right! are you stupid??" and then you get the best language instruction anyone has ever offered you
