if that prophecy wasn’t 100% confirmed to be talking about you,

if there was something that might indicate you might not be the hero of legend,

something like using completely different equipment?

if there was something that implied the story had been changed,

that you were maybe supposed to be a different character…

ah, well. i wouldn’t worry about it, susie. keep putting that stock into that prophecy! you’re definitely the hero of legend, you can definitely base your newly found self worth around the idea of that. i’m sure nothing will come up that shatters this illusion.

i have to wonder about suselle because i also really got the sense that its just too easy. their dynamic is so designed to be simple and appealing and cute compared to the complex mess every other cast member relationship has going on. not to mention how similar it is to alphyne - exasperated by susie literally training with gerson last chapter. it makes me think it might all be subverted and they wont end up together. that or toby just likes writing this specific sort of romance but id like to have hope all of this is setting something up.

I was on the side of thinking this was all toby being subconsciously self indulgent and doing Alphyne 2 without even realising how many problems it has but it was precisely gerson that made me reconsider, particularly his lines about predictability in stories, the dialogue in the fight, and precisely how easy it all happens, even more apparent with the "love finds its way to the girl" prophecy. Theres still a chance that things will simply be that streamlined, and if that is the case I outright consider that bad writing, but it feels set up too purposefully to be that simple. Atp i would be surprised if it wasn't a prophesized outcome that susie challenges because that is basically the theme of her character
