i am much happier for it in a larger sense but i really did become way more political after moving in with my girlfriend and being exposed to Her People because i don't think i would be caring this much about intersectionality in the gambling industry if i wasn't living with someone who almost always wants to talk about politics and social theory

i did just make the connection that uma musume is significantly more ethical in practice than real horse racing because they're not real horses (UH-DOY :P) and that spending money on a gacha game about race horses isn't the same as spending money gambling on real race horses but this stops being applicable once you consider that cygames is directly involved with real race horsing on multiple levels but i can see why there's a disconnect for people. "the real rice shower was killed when she was only 6 years old but these are fake anime girls so it's fine" can only make sense if you're either ignorant of or refusing to acknowledge the larger systems in place. and who do you think cygames acquired the rights to use rice shower in their game from. the owner who had her killed
#i know i said this arc was over but i do still have more thoughts about all of this#regardless i am BEATING A DEAD HORSE XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD by going on about this constantly#and seeing so much of it even when i have most terms i can think of blacklisted does worsen my mood#i know i talked before about wanting to take a break from tumblr and i think this might be what pushes me to finally do that
