Pairing: Lucas x Reader

A/N: hey guys! this is my first ever imagine and i’m so excited to share it with y’all. pls excuse me, i’m not a pro at this yet but i hope you like it! xx

No matter how much you try to stop yourself from thinking about it, the thought of you never seeing Lucas again one day breaks your heart into a million tiny pieces. Lucas was the most beautiful person you’ve ever known inside and out and you were more than infatuated with him, you have completely fallen in love with his character and his personality.

His family follows the tradition of having an arranged marriage. Lucas told you about this almost a year ago, before his parents arranged his first date with the woman he was getting married to. He didn’t love her. He was never fond of her either. You know this because he’s your best friend and you’re the only person he trusts enough to tell his secrets to. They both did not love each other. The woman was in love with a different man, Lucas told you.

You glanced at him who was smiling at the sight of the sun setting before his eyes. The colors in the sky were beautiful but you couldn’t stop looking at an even more beautiful view, Lucas right beside you. He was just like a little kid, his eyes shined with happiness and hope, in awe of the sky and nature itself. “It’s so beautiful, Y/N! Ah, I wish I could stay here forever,” he looked around and pointed at the birds, acting cutely surprised. You stared blankly, filled with thoughts of what-ifs. You were overthinking everything and although you’re good at hiding it, it was too much that you didn’t realize Lucas had already noticed. “Earth to Y/N,” He wondered if you were okay. He’s never seen you so serious and zoned out before.

“Oh- yes! It’s really beautiful.” You smiled as you could feel tears form in your eyes. Don’t do it. Don’t cry, Y/N. At least not now. You thought to yourself. You were trying your best to stop yourself from crying. You’ve always been good at this, concealing your feelings and pretending everything was okay. You looked away wearing a fake smile, pretending to observe the view around you. “Hey,” he cupped your face. “Y/N, look at me,” he moved your face towards his direction so that you were facing him. A tear fell from your eye and Lucas wiped it right away. “I-I’m sorry.” You composed yourself again and wiped your eyes.

Lucas was clueless about your feelings for him. He loved you and he showed that but you never thought he did it romantically because you thought he was just a protective best friend. “What’s wrong? I know something is bothering you, don’t try to lie to me Y/N.” He focused his eyes on you, eyebrows furrowed, eager to listen to what you have to say. “I-I... I just...” You couldn’t get the words out. Your heart was beating faster than the moment you first saw him. Faster than the moment you vividly remember the most. “I never thought you’d find out this way and I think it’s a little too late, but-“ A tear fell from your eye, “I’m in love with you. I can’t imagine never seeing you again, I-“ Lucas cut you off by crashing his lips into yours. You felt a tear fall on his cheek. It was a long, sweet, passionate kiss. His tongue met yours and every second was like an “I love you” in disguise. He pulled away and placed a piece of your hair behind your ear. “Shh, don’t cry baby.” He kissed your forehead, giving your shoulder a tight squeeze. “I love you, Y/N. If you can’t imagine never seeing me ever again, I can’t imagine my life without you. I’ve been meaning to tell you this, but I thought you never felt the same way and it hurt me so much just thinking of being away from you.” Lucas was now in tears as well. He hugged you tightly, his huge arms felt comforting for you.

The reason why you couldn’t hold your tears back any longer was because Lucas’ wedding ceremony was the following day. You were invited because Lucas’ parents knew that you were his best friend. Little did they know that you’re the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with, the only woman he’ll cross the ocean for.
