He was born in Syracuse, New York,11 on July 3, 1962, he is the son of the electronic engineer Thomas Cruise Mapother III (1934-1984) and his wife, Mary Lee Pfeiffer (1936-2017), a professor and theater fan; and brother of Lee Anne, Marian and Cass.
