Maui, HI: landed at 10pm, walked 20 minutes to the beach and stayed the night at a campsite near the beach. The moon was so bright it provided a night light on our way to the beach

Our favorite dinner, it doesn't look like much from the outside but it was beyond delicious! Great food, Italian inspired, just a wonderful night together :)

Route 26 to Kenting, we had trouble finding a place for breakfast (so in the mood for a coffee and toast and eggs!) Then we found a Starbucks and a lone rock that Ben thought to swim around

The happiness B&B- we left for our "rest day" today, about 30 miles of biking to and around Kenting National Park

We made it, 95-100 miles today, we rode into the night but felt safe on the quiet road 199. We searched for a B&B and found the Happiness hotel - friendly owners with eclectic decorations

We climbed for 6 miles and had one flat tire almost at the top as it was starting to get dark. Then we turned off the busy highway to the lovely 199 - best bicycle road in Taiwan! We loved being on another road that felt like a glorified bike path, it felt far away from the city and in the jungle.

After lunch we sat through an earthquake drill for 30 minutes - it would have been so scary to hear the sirens if we didn't know it was a drill on the road

Finishing our ride in the rain and just before dark we make it to our B&B Lost and Find - owned by 2 brothers. We enjoyed our first hot pot for dinner, except Ben had his first uneasy stomach after eating the meat. I picked out a beer from the market - they don't serve alcohol very much with dinner, was kinda funny to buy one can at the store :)

This grandma entertained us with her signing right off the bike trail, she then took photos of us and sold us a painted rock. She had lots of spirit and a very sweet lady. Not just anyone can sell you a painted rock while on a bike tour
