is it bad to have just one rat? alot of people say that you should have at least two

People say you should have two but I now have one after theo passing away, not that they lived in the same cage anyway but I think having cage mates is better so when you're at work or school they have one another since they do like to socialise :)

I'm not being stupid or trying to be funny or anything, but is it awkward that male rats balls are so big? because honestly thats the reason why i want a female

aw! people comment on them heaps, I just laugh at rats having such huge balls! doesn't bother me in the slightest, plus I prefer male rats but if it bothers you then get a female :) all up to you dear :)

Took Frankie to the park today. Since I feel so disconnected from everyone lately I have spent so much time with Frankie and found comfort in having him. ♥

Last night I had to say goodbye to my little old man, Theo. I came home from work last night and checked on the rats to find Theo laying in a way i'd never seen him lay in and that's when the horrible feeling started.  Theo was dying of old age, and lost the ability to use his lower body, eat or do anything but lay there so I made the horrible decision to go to a vet and have him euthanized. I brought him home in this box and wrote a message on it. Flowers I picked were also put on the box too. I came back to bury him under the lemon tree and found a butterfly on the flowers. I set it free outside and it flew away as I said 'goodbye Theo'. Was a beautiful goodbye but I miss my little man, already.  Rest In Peace, Little old man.   ♥

Hi, honestly I'm kinda of scared of rats, but lately I've been wanting to want one. I think they are cute but I'm afraid they may bite me or something like that. Anyway my questions are: Where can I buy one? How does it feels to have them? Are they expensive to have? Some advice would be nice too. Thanks.

If you're scared of rats it's probably because you think of the gross diseased ones. Domestic rats are so different! I've never been bitten by one, it does happen but I think it's rare and I think it's only if they're frightened. You can buy them from petstores (people don't agree with this often) or pet rescues/ratteries, if you google them you can find some in your area, and some people are rehoming their rats sometimes so look at places like gumtree online. I love having them! they're the best pets I have ever had, and they're just super cute and intelligent. Cleaning cages is easy, and they aren't expensive at all! feeding wise they can eat so many fruit and veg as well as things like a little meat, dog biscuits, pasta etc, google helps you find out what they can and can't have! :) and the mixes aren't too expensive and last a very long time :) just be gentle with them at first and get them tame and you will love being a rat parent :) let me know if you have any more questions! :)

I got a package in the mail (from my lovely friend Madison) that included some chocolate. This little thief grabbed a chunk and ran for it before I could grab her. Once captured, though, she admitted defeat and tried to stuff her mouth as much as possible until I took it away from her.

This is my sister's rat (she is stuck between calling it Marbles or Nibbles) I personally think Marbles, but anyway. He is so cute and little, I thought I was going to squash him or something because he's just so tiny! and i'm used to handling bigger rats.
