Once I made a commitment to master stock investing, I obviously didn't know where to begin. Where do I start? Although I didn't know where to begin, I knew I had to start somewhere. One thing I did to better myself was improve the quality of the feeds I was following on social media. @themasterinvestor was one such account. I found out about him through @earnyourleisure's show (Ep. 70), and every since then, I've been tapped in. The most important lesson I got out of that episode was keep your core stock portfolio simple: 2 Stocks (ideally Tech) + 2 Index Funds, and strive to own +10,000 shares. At the time, I owned some stock, but I was all over the place. But ever since watching that episode, I've been able to prune my core portfolio down to four positions, and the gains have been rollin in. What I've learned over the years is that people do get that investing is simple. They just don't know where to get started. Well, to keep it simple, buy index funds.
