first and second ink drawings in an a4 bleedproof sketchbook. first was solely with a brush pen and took a lot of getting used to the wetness of the ink. second was more heavily reliant on pens and fine liners with the pentel for added details. love how the second one turned out! can’t wait to experiment with colour eventually.

Hiya, I saw your poll on Twitter (and voted on it) but I wanted to explain a little more on my vote. I voted "Tumblr", but I see it mostly as a way to see when an update happens, since I can't remember when which comic updates. A system like the one you have currently for Questables also works, for the most part. The only disadvantage is that so many people use so many different sites (tapas, smackjeeves, etc) that I don't have accounts for most and thus couldn't see the mature Questables page.

heyo, thank you for the elaboration! i’m sorry you couldn’t see that page, i didn’t realise you needed an account to view it ): it’s definitely worth it though, getting to bookmark comics and get a little notification on your profile when they update etc. i’m trying to move off tapas and that’s why i’m taking polls about where people like to read, but it’s still a handy platform for following multiple works. i’m thinking of moving back to tumblr for the most part, so that should hopefully be some good news! i’m also looking into hosting comics on my own site, ive just uploaded all of questables and rechargeable there (bilvyjane.com) but it’s a very basic and temporary layout for the moment. the general goal is to host it somewhere professional, accessible, and where people can easily keep up to date, so i’d love to set up a notification service on my site or start making announcements on discord when new pages go up. thank you again for voting and your message!

How did you get back into watching ray?

i think i saw that he was streaming and i wanted to go check it out, and had so much fun seeing him thriving doing something he loved that i kept going back. i think i had been watching some of tina’s streams first, and the community was just so nice, i went to see how ray’s was doing. 

i was blown away by how much i appreciated and related to tina and all the stories she shared, and she’s always been so down to earth - i had this pretty garbo view of ray towards the end of AH because of his attitude and some shitty jokes shared amongst the AH group, but i think i had this part of me that thought “if tina loves him this much, i’ve got to have something wrong, there’s got to be something i’ve stopped seeing.” i’m so glad i did go try again, honestly, you guys have no idea what their streams have done for me. it’s so nice to just enjoy ray again, and know him a little better as a person now too. tina inspired me to start my own regular stream, through their raids i discovered geoff and max and jamie and josh and so many other people, leading me to best friends like hero, rozo, sam, space and kev. my twitch family is so huge now, because of ray and tina. and it was 100% because of them that i’m living almost solely off my commissions now(!!!), because they saw my just-starting-out emote work and actually commissioned stuff from me, shared me with their friends and communities, and gave me that chance and that support. nowadays i struggle catching ray’s streams because of timezones, but i’ll jump into tina’s whenever i can, and i’ll always recommend their content and owe them for all they’ve done for my life and career 💜💜💜💜💜

Why did you stop rechargeable? Will you ever go back to it?

because i didn’t like the characters anymore

don’t like the story anymore

don’t like the look or feel or general comic style of it anymore

don’t like the character, landscape, technology and general sci fi designs

don’t like sci fi at all anymore, never really did, only got into it for a little bit like a sudden trend/phase and happened to start a huge comic in that time, and it was hard to enjoy it after i stopped caring for the genre

felt like no one was reading it or enjoying it because nobody said anything

making it was becoming a chore, not a fun thing

i was going through a severely depressive episode towards the end of episode 2 and everything i loved at the time i no longer felt anything for, including rechargeable

that’s it there’s every reason can people stop asking me now

edit: “indefinite hiatus” means i dont know if i’ll go back to it.

How do you start building the human figure in maya? I've watched a lot if tutorials, but they all have different methods for how they build up. I tried to look at your wire frame as a reference but im not skilled enough yet to tell. Any tips?

I decided to record my workflow for starting a human figure. I start with cylinders for the torso and limbs then add in edge loops to match my reference images

hey tumblr friends, since i don’t update you as often as i tweet or chat in discord, i’d better share some stuff about my new project! questables is going to continue on at the same time, and i’m about to start a new comic called Preheat. it will be a graphic novel like rechargeable was, and i don’t have any specifics about where or when it will be posted, but it’s another queer crime drama about a cutesy baker who turns to illegal smuggling to make money for her bakery. last months art pack on patreon featured a lot of drawings of the main char and her nb girlfriend, and i chat about it a bit on streams and in the patron/twitch sub only channel in our discord server (ive recently reblogged a post with the links etc xx). in terms of production, i have the whole story planned, and i’ve just started writing the actual detailed script and hope to start thumbnailing this week. since i don’t know how i’m going to publish it yet, i’ll be sharing the actual pages exclusively on patreon for the next few months!

ah i’m sorry i don’t know when rechargeable will return, if ever! but yes questables is absolutely queer, i can assure you every comic/anything i make will have LGBT characters as the majority.
