There is a big undercurrent racism problem in this fandom and it went full mask off with Lei heng. I don’t know if y’all are just terminally online and became very cynical as a result, or brain rotted but it’s fucking disgusting the fandom’s treatment of this character. You have a right to dislike him he’s meant to be an antagonist, but the headcanons some people have made calling him a misogynist and a RAPIST, for no other reason than ‘vibes’ is so asinine and honestly reveals such a lack of social intelligence, the fandom that screams media literacy came up with the most brain dead takes for him. Honestly shit genuinely feels like racism, because no other character has received this level of treatment or reaction. The brown Chinese man though? Suddenly satan. Is it gender/appearance bias? Ignoring all the other far more horrific characters, but oh they’re cute or some shit or ‘uwu pookie’ the woobification some many get like Alfonso, Argalia, Elena, Binah even Kromer, and they’re just a fraction. When Ryoshu’s canto rolls around and she ends up being the one responsible for her daughter getting burnt alive I don’t want to see apologetics.

Also stupid as fuck how people point to his interactions with Zilu. He made 3 RABBIT PUNS to the HEISHOU MAO(RABBIT) character. And has a southern speaking pattern. Have you not heard of people using sweetheart liberally? Or Brit’s using love? There’s so many real world examples of ‘’’flirty’’’ terms being used as nothing but informal greetings or call-outs.

Perhaps this is a hot take in the fandom But i really dislike how the wider fandom at large has reduced izutsumi to just "cute kbitty that does kbitty stuff and is the parties funny cat" Congratulations, You have completely stripped izutsumi of the nuance and personality of her character and reduced her to this one specific extremely exaggerated trait that the fandom has played up so incredibly beyond belief that the character is genuinely unrecognizable and the impression people get of them is so radically different than what she actually is that people do not even recognize that she is the same character and end up disappointed on how she actually is or even actively dislike her because of it. Ive seen people say they thought she was this cute cat girl (one person not even realizing she spoke) and were caught off guard she is actually an incredibly abrasive, mean, and even selfish at times person. Its even more heinous to me because the fandom has reduced her to nothing but being a cat, the very thing she hates the most about herself and the sole reason for her joining laios party to try and get rid of. The thing that has caused her so much pain and misery in her story and the aspect of herself that she actively hates more than anything else. It is a key part of her character that she HATES being fused with a cat and she gets furious and even physically aggressive when people treat her like a cat or a helpless child and will yell at people and even physically attack them. The fandom at large has somehow managed to reduce izutsumi to nothing more than the very specific part of herself that she hates the most. They have dehumanized her so much they view her as nothing more than the party cat(girl) and do not see her as the fleshed out tragic character who struggles with her identity and who she is as she tries to separate the very thing the fandom has latched onto as her only trait. It just feels especially heinous considering what her character arc actually is about

Requests Open; I'm alive

It has been a very long time since I've written, but I'm alive! Life chose to give me the ao3 author treatment but that's not stopping me quite yet.

Interestingly enough, I don't believe I've had requests open since the release of Limbus which is just absurd, and why I want to open the gates for more.

Once again, willing to write for practically any character! I'd say I only am holding off on romantically writing for Heathcliff for now until his Canto as Cathy takes a very important role in his motivations, and I don't think it would be accurate to simply ignore all that.

That all said, looking forward to see what you all want to see

I know you hate canon Yang but do you think she and Mercury could at one point bond over having been messed up by a parent that made them base their worth on their strength?

Anon let me tell you-

I fucking hate that people now believe Adam was Yang's foil because the writers fucked up. No, he's not. He's Blake's foil; they share the same story, and the same past, and everything about them was supposed to be linked together down to their fairy tale allusion. Whatever came out of making him and Yang rivals are bullshit ass-pulls.

Mercury was designed to be her foil; he has a grey monotone color palette and a very low-key, cyberpunk-esque fashion while Yang is in a warm-tone, bright-colored palette with a steampunk style that sets her out from others visually. She's mostly a boxer, while he's focused on kick-based combat. Mercury doesn't have a semblance and has to rely on his own skills, and Yang relies TOO much on hers and it becomes her double-edged sword.

Mercury has a terrible father and no mother, suffering alone in a home that took everything from him and forced him to kill. Yang might not have Raven, but she has a loving family who cares for her even when they're not perfect. Everything about them was set up to be a narrative of two people who could very easily become the other had the circumstances of their lives been different, but their actions had also led them to this point and they have to take control of their future now that a new chapter begin.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, should have changed this aside from the fact that MK and CRWBY are fucking stupid enough to make Yang wedge into a narrative that she DOES not give a fuck about even though she supposedly cares about Blake and her causes, but never fucking does anything for the Faunus or even talk to Blake about her goals for them. It muddles their characters (Yang, Blake, Mercury, and Adam) because now the writers have to make dumbass fucking reasons for Yang and Adam to fight each other when Mercury and Blake are right fucking there.
