"Ala eh!" "Pumarine ka" "Dine oh!" we often hear that words from Batangeños. It is amusing to hear those words because of their "Punto".  However, Batangas has a lot of City parts such Lipa, San Jose and Nasugbo etc. and delicacies to discover, from views down to Foodtrips!
Let us discover Cuenca Batangas!
 Discover  Cuenca ..
Once a part of San Jose, it became an independent town under the name "Cuenca" in 1876. Its main tourist attraction is the 700-metre-high (2,300 ft) mountain, Mount Maculot. The Patron of Cuenca is Saint Isidore the Laborer, the patron of farmers. A celebratory feast is held annually every May 15. Aside from little background about Cuenca, I will take you to their Place attractions that will hook your heart if you are a Traveller!
 •Mount Maculot
Maculot is a mountain located in the town of Cuenca in Batangas province, in the Philippines. This mountain is popular among mountain climbers and campers; it is the major tourist attraction of the municipality.  It is also popular because "Pelitensya" Every holy week conducted to that place that visited by several people.
In delicacies, Cuenca also serves savoring culture..
 Batangas Lomi
You might be wondering what is in Batangas Lomi that makes this variation stand out. First, let me tell you what’s not in it – vegetables. If there would be vegetables, it would just be onions and onion leeks or scallions (but these are not always present). As for the texture, the soup is very thick and somewhat slimy – in a good way. The bowl of soup is also like a meat stand because it is filled with different meat ingredients like pork or chicken, kikiam, ham, and meatballs, to name a few. I also remember having a generous serving of crushed chicharon on top.
Batangas Goto
Gotong Batangas was said to have originated in Lipa City. Hence, the rising of the city’s famous Gotohan sa Barangay in Brgy. Antipolo del Norte. For those squeamish about eating innards, they have goto laman, with cubes of beef meat.
The best time to have gotong Batangas is early in the morning to warm your tummy. Squeezing a calamansi and adding chopped onions would complete this comforting dish. Yum!
All those are only few specialty that Cuenca has. It is good to know that this hidden paradise little by little becoming popular to some, but the best thing that I have experienced here in Cuenca was I Enjoyed the place and and hospitable people.
As we travel in Cuenca, Many memories have made. Happiness, and contentment. this place is not just a place  for me, it is my second home where caught my heart so much. And as a Batangena I am proudly to introduce Batangas as one the best place  I have ever been
Truly that Batangas is beautiful inside out. And can make you tell “ Ala eh! tara pumarine sa Cuenca! “ And i think that is beautiful!

 Street foods Presents..
 Kwek Kwek
One of the most popular street food found everywhere. In the market, school and even it the streets. Kwek kwek is an egg coated with orange wheat flour, and cooked in a hot deep oil. it also called today an "Egg waffle".
 Kikiam
a short brown delicious street food. it cost one peso per each. it is delicious if you put together with ready mixed vinegar sauce.
 Fishball
It is the most famous street food that most of the Filipinos love this. Because of its taste that last in your taste buds. It is cheap but it is guaranteed the best!!
Lastly is..
Tokwa (Which I holding on my hands)
It is my favorite street foods among all those “Tuhogs”. It was 2018 that I discovered even tofu or commonly known Tokwa. I really love it because of its salty taste and crunchy texture with cheap price that satisfy your tummy! It is the best!
Finally, street foods not only ends with those said foods but there is also "Dos - Tres"  which is the lungs of a cow (beef) that most of us love this.
It does not matter how fancy your food is, or how tasty it is. The important thing is we enjoy it with the smiles on our faces
Furthermore,  street foods really can satisfy our tummy and wallet because of its cheap price. But do not forget that we should still balance our health and food that we eat. It is good to eat those, but learn to control, there is a saying that "Too much food will kill you too." Enjoy it but do not abuse your health!

Fluffy, furry hair, cute chubby neck, they are clever but sweet, naughty but neat. These words could describe my pets, rather my babies. Every morning, I always receive good morning "Meow" and good morning "aw aw" every time I wake up they are always waiting downstairs to greet me, and they are doing the same thing also when  every time I go home from school.
 Cutiepie Mumay
Mumay is my cat pet since when I was elementary. His name came from a friend of mine who admire him so much. He is so clingy every time, he always talking with me even he only could say "meow meow" and every morning he always waiting me in front of my room's door, He waiting me to wake up and go downstairs with me. He is so adorable like his eyes telling a thousand words to express his feelings to me. However, Mumay has unique characteristics, than normal cats that we usually encounter. He always do "Kalabit" every time we are having a dinner or lunch or even we have visitors , he is so clingy so much, with his teary- cute - eye that makes our heart melt.
 Naughty Browny
Browny is my adopted pet, he was a stray dog and eventually being adopted by my family.  He is also my first  dog with breed, it is hard also to adjust especially we know cat and dogs are mortal enemies. But despite of that, Im so happy that browny is a quiet and tame dog even sometimes he is naughty, but in a clingy way.
Despite of having two different pet in the same house, it is good to see Mumay ( cat ) and browny (dog) are now best friends they not even fighting, the adorable ones. No matter how cute, fluffy, sweet, adorable and naughty  they are, they deserve to be love. They not just my pet, they are my babies that complete my day.
Truly that our pets portraits a big impact to our hearts, even to our everyday life. They not just animals they are like humans who longing for  genuine love and care from us.  They are deserve to be love!

 Discover New Era
New Era University it is a private educational institution in the Philippines run by Iglesia Ni Cristo founded in 17 June 1975, It was known as the New Era Educational Institute and was located in Echaque, Quiapo Manila along Carlos Palanca St. In the Past years, It developed itself for the better, Especially for the Eranians and Future Eranians.
"Godliness is the Foundation of Knowledge"
One of the most effective motto that we ever hear. New Era hooking everyone with their Unique Christian Culture that catches and motivate each one of us not only intellectually, but morally.
God Centered Institution
New Era University focuses not only in academics but also promoting Christian culture from beloved Teachers and professor down to Students. They acknowledge God through their School Journey as an Eran, furthermore, an institution that empower our Moral Character and Discipline for us to be a better Individual .
 What is in New Era?
Strength provider Place ..
Since New Era’s motto is “ Godliness is the foundation of Knowledge” they not forget God at all things, it is a good thing that there is a University Chapel that in case you experience hopelessness, upset and downfalls in your studies , there is a nearest Chapel that you can kneel down whenever you are getting weak in to your spiritual  life as a student. Some Erans do “Panata” there to the chapel of university,  especially to those Iglesia Ni Cristo members .
In the other hand, New Era University is not Only a University itself, of course in the outside of New Era, there are a lot of “Kainan” or food-stop that Eranians Love the most.
 “St. Jo” (st . Joseph)
Hearing the students “tara st. Jo” “Tara kain tayo” aside from delicious foods out there such “Carienderia” “Meriendahan” “Milktea stop”, mostly favourite of some Eranians ; SIOMAI RICE! because of the cheap prices in the outside of university, students choose to eat there because of the simple set up of “Kainan”.
New Era Trends
“Siomai Rice, Siomai Rice ako ay nagugutom gusto ko siomai  rice!“
We often hear that lines from some erans, that lines comes from the Song "Siomai Rice” by Succ (Denzel Tomagos Grade 11 Student from NEU) that became popular in the campus because of its creative Idea and lyrics of its song. Most of Erans were proud that the popular Song artist came from NEU and it is a big merits for each everyone of the students in New Era.
“Like the rising sun within thy seal, we’ll shine and light the world with brilliancy, Our lord’s command will obey seal with his grace to all our victories”..
Truly that New Era is Shining bright among the University aside from their Unique Christian Culture, but the beautiful characteristic of the campus that melts through our soul behind of the hideous things that world has offer.
New Era Is known for being one of the Disciplined University in the Philippines and still  disciplined until now, and one of their Goal is impart value-laden education to the total development of man and Develop servants leaders among staff, faculty members and Administrator. lastly, Produce God -fearing competent and Disciplined graduates.

Bahay kubo, Kahit Munti ang halaman doon ay sari – sari “ This will be the perfect song for this authentic dish called Pinakbet.  an Assorted vegetables Saute with Special Alamang that will satisfy your taste buds.
 What Is Pinakbet?
Pinakbet or pakbet is a popular vegetable dish in the Philippines which originated in Ilocos Region, the word pinakbet is derived from the Ilocano word pinakebbet, meaning “shrunk” or “shrivelled”. It is cooked with a different variety of vegetables such as bitter melon, string beans, eggplants, okra, tomatoes, lima beans, etc. (the list can go on) and flavoured with bagoong. It is a good dish on its own but it is better when paired with meat usually fried fish or grilled pork. My version would be a simplified version as it’s hard to find bitter melon in where I live and it is seasonal as well.
How to cook Pinakbet? In a pan sauté garlic, onion and tomatoes in oil. Add pork pieces and brown evenly. Add squash and okra continuously pan frying for 2 minutes, bring the heat to low and cover for 5 minutes Add string beans, bitter melon and eggplants pan fry pan fry for additional 2 minutes. Add water, sugar, shrimps and bagoong monamon, cover and simmer for 5-8 minutes in medium heat until vegetables are cooked. Season with pepper add fish sauce/salt if needed
Taste the Culture
Pinakbet is not just a dish it is all about the culture of ilocanos out there. From this one dish , you will know what are their taste not only on dishes that they serve, but also to the culture they offer. So Mangantayon na ng Pinakbet!

“ What are you? “ Who are you? These are the lines  I always hear to her. Sounds sarcastic right? She is the fear of everyone of us. Everytime we encounter her at hallway and even on every corner of our building, her eyes glistening on us, and always make our heart beat fast
.The Who??
It was our first day of class schedule with her,.We called her “Masungit” She is Maam Laarni Dacanay, everytime she enter to our classroom, all are quiet and peaceful. Like there  was an angel came.. And  Most of us were afraid to her.
Exposing her True Colors
It was terrible day for us, because we have a one on one recitation. And until, she called my name and ask me some questions, then criticize me in the way I Answer her and in the way I stand in front of other people with the words “Ayan ba ang tayo ng matalino? Ayan ba pano sumagot ang matalino? Get up ayusin mo.”And my whole world stop spinning. It was a Slap of reality.. But I smiled anyway.. And I just realized that after all, those words, it pushes me to my limit to go beyond to the things I do not experience yet.
Maybe  if you were a student of Mam Dacanay, you have  experienced fear at the same time you feel challenged. But in the end, we will realize those kind of teacher like Maam Dacanay is a kind of blessing in disguise. We see them terror but the truth is they are the one who will put us on top of our limits.

“People come and go, but memories stays”. This  I would describe my experiences to the most beautiful grandmother I have ever seen. She carved and left me memories that will last to my heart forever.
 Missing the good old days..
When I was a child, she was there for me since my mother was so workaholic and busy to her profession she always change my clothes, feeding me and  taking care of me  until I grew up. My granny was a widow and she raised her five children alone. I honor her sacrifices  for her great deeds.
 Greatest love of all
Taking care of me, was the biggest thing happened in  life because she fulfilled the emptiness of my heart when there is no one for me. She always says, “Nini, tahan na at tayo ay magmemeryenda nalang .” with a big smile to me. I felt my heart my melts. Despite of getting old my granny is the most beautiful  and strong woman I know. I miss her so much
.While I’m growing up she is getting old and getting weak remembering  all the memories we had.
 Going back
Planning to visit my granny. It was Seven years ago  when we I we see each other but it feels like a thousand days  without her. I am so excited to see the woman who was part of my growing up..
 Coming back into your arms
After a long years of not seeing each other, the greatest momma I have ever seen was now skinny , weak and lost her memories but I know her heart remember me. It was about Eight days of my birthdays Im so happy because she will there for my best day ever but she did not wait for it and left us with wounded heart I wish she was there for me to say. “Nini taha na” and I miss her so much.
