APOLOGETIC SHE IS to reach for silver syringe,   to take tender grip around his arm and lift the needle to bite his skin.   ❛  I’m terribly sorry about this.  ❜   yet her digits do not yield,  pull him   (  now likely weakened  )   to the lab’s bed.  his wounds need her ATTENTION   //   she cannot stitch when he’s fighting her. 

❛  I’m so sorry, I’m sorry.   you gave me no choice.    you need to lay still    so I can dress your wounds.  ❜   genuine is her concern,  though her mission is clear.  //  IT IS ALWAYS HER MISSION TO HEAL.  no time wasted before she reaches for her stitch kit.  the red sea,    her duty to part,   pulses at her touch.     ❛  in a couple of moments, you’ll feel the medication take effect and the pain will dull.  I need you to remain as still as possible while I clean your wounds,  one is very deep and it will still sting.  ❜

        the worry rolls off jemma in waves, and sansa feels every ounce of it as she allows the woman to guide her over to the sink. it is still FORIEGN, feeling true concern from people after so long of being on her own without a soul to care. the clear water cleans the wounds, turning a vibrant r e d as it disappears down the drain. 

          ❝· it… it was an ACCIDENT. i slipped and i reached out to catch myself, but there must have been something sharp on the counter because… it’s fine, really. it doesn’t even hurt that much and it’ll h e a l soon. ❞

her brow is a stiff line,    weighted by the worry she cannot shake    no matter the reassurances spewed by the other.   meticulously she cleans the other’s wound,   dries it as tenderly as she can manage.     ❛  you must be careful.  ❜  this is only muttering,  only the stirring cauldron that boils behind her eyes.  well-practised digits find the first aid kit under the sink,  pull out bandaging the colour of snow. 

SHE’S PROJECTING NOW,   plunging herself into the superficial pain of another to avoid her own dramatics   //   it shows through obsession,  the scolding over simply mistake.  only when the wound is WRAPPED  does her held breath release.    ❛  I’m sorry  ❜   (  only a mutter  )    ❛  it,  uh,  it should be good now.  ❜

          he wears his UNEASE like a second skin, the harsh line of his spine cutting an intimidating figure upon the edge of the examining table he’s perched on. steve’s word keeps him in place ( ‘you can TRUST them’ ), prevents him from shrugging out of the PHANTOM strings he feels crawling along his skin; who knew if this shield wasn’t already INFECTED, the purity of a flower straining for sunlight tainted by the overhanging shadow.

          ❝ bucky, please             ❞ something about her sincerity forces an attempt at RE-ASSURANCE, the twitch of lips that forms the mockery of a smile. his gut tells him she’s not hydra, but that doesn’t help the SUSPICION wrought in the tightness of his jaw. ❝ what do you need me to do? ❞
