i designed a case for my mks board with the silent stepper drivers in onshape, current version is v2 but i have ideas for v3 since v2 was basically done in a hurry to make v1 work at all.

on the left sits the printer board and on the right is the raspberry going to life, if i get around to print that side some day.
Tumblr media
part of the v3 will be attachments for these cable-guides.

i replaced every single fan, even the PSU-fan, on my ender3 with silent ones, together with the silen stepper-drivers i can print while sleeping in the same room now.

im not quite sure what to think about the custom fan shroud i found online. its compatible with 2 40mm fans, 1 for the hotend and 1 for part-cooling. the bridge performance seems ok but i feel like other overhangs are somewhat lacking.

reviving my 3d printer
a few years ago i got an ender3 for printing minis for DnD but quickly realized that FDM printers can do what i want but not as good as i had hopped. also it was REAAAALY loud and i couldnt get my silent driver board to work with marlin.
due to my apprenticeship i had the chance to use other 3D-printers and got into CAD. 2 weeks ago the ender was revived after years without use and 2 moves across germany.
since i had problems with marlin back then, i installed klipper on my machine and after some confusion about what uart ist and does i got everything to work.
