Contrary to popular belief the biggest beginner's roadblock to art isn't even technical skill it's frustration tolerance, especially in the age of social media. It hurts and the frustration is endless but you must build the frustration tolerance equivalent to a roach's capacity to survive a nuclear explosion. That's how you build on the technical skill. Throw that "won't even start because I'm afraid it won't be perfect" shit out the window. Just do it. Just start. Good luck.

2024 Art Summary 🖼️

This really showcases how I have no consistent art style, huh?

I challenged myself a lot with my art this year. I did lots of full illustrations, each telling a story with lots of thought put into every stroke. I even started making reels with voice-over to explain the process behind my drawings. My fanart for Wicked, despite being my most recent drawing, skyrocketed to my most liked piece of the year, and my drawing from July was on the back cover of Prosetrics magazine! I definitely didn’t have “get my art published” on my 2024 Bingo card so that was a fun surprise!

Funnily enough, I think what I improved at the most this year was actually interacting with others online. Talking online has traditionally given me a lot of anxiety but I really pushed myself to do it more this year, and I’d like to think I made a few new friends in the process ❤️

for stream last night, people asked to see how i would stylize animal as anthros. i did photo studies to start, then showed how id transfer the information from those studies into stylization!
