Sans made a bad pun again.Butthat wasn’t the time for it, well, in your mind. You two werecuddling on the couch. You were slowly falling asleep, the song ofhis soul in his ribcage lulling you peacefully. His hoodie was aroundyour shoulders like a fluffy blanket to keep you warm and comfyagainst him. And then, he opened his mouth. Your sleepiness was threwinto the trashcan the moment the pun left his mouth. Sans chuckledbut you weren’t accepting it this time. His hoodie still on yourshoulders like a cape, you ran away in the house. Sans shaked hishead and sigh. Why moving ? But it was still funny, so he played yourlittle game. After a while (5minutes) of chasing you (following you.walking.), he gave up and asked you to stop running around. “Youwin doll, you’re too fast for me. Come here, I’ll give you yourprice for being so awesome” He chuckled and you look at him,smiling. “Aw I know this face, what areyou..gonna..do..now..”Sans never really show many emotions. Youcan see his love for you on his face but he always looks calm andrelax, his smile sometimes bigger. Not much.

But now ?

Your eyes were sparkling withmischief, the sunlight making them glow, your lips curved in achildish smile and their color pinker than usual with this samelight. His hoodie made you seem so small on it. Your hands weren’teven out of the sleeves ! He just, couldn’t restrain hisexpression. He didn’t want to, not with his sunshine looking at himlike he was their treasure.His eyesockets were half closed, hispupils shaped into tiny blue and yellow heart. They were full of asweet affection, all for you. Slowly, a blue pastel took place on hischeekbones while he smiled. Oh, his smile was so lovely. Itwasn’t that big, proud smile of when he made you laugh.Itwasn’t that little, sad smile of when he made you cry.It wasn’tthat usual, neutral smile of when he made you think he’s okay. Itwas a happy smile. One you want to picture and cherish the memory forever.Sans didn’t want to forget your smile either. While thesunlight left the house until the moonlight took its turn, thesunshine stared at their treasure and the treasure stared at theirsunshine.

At first, you just wanted topass some time with your bonefriend. He always had something to doand you were bored. You found him on the living room, a puzzle infront of him. Papyrus was, again, so concentrated on it that hedidn’t notice you. A silence sigh left your mouth. Can’t he justlet his puzzles for a while ? Maybe if you try to cuddle. You walkedto him and put your head on his scarf, hugging him from behind. Hesmiled happily and let you do, continuing his activity. You sighagain, disappointed.“DATEMATE, ARE YOU OKAY ?-Yeah butcan’t you stop your puzzle ?”You sounded annoyed. Maybe morethan you should have. Papyrus immediately stoped whatever he wasdoing and turned his head toward you. He couldn’t believe that…Youwere jealous of his puzzle ! He wasn’t expecting two hands sneakingunder his scarf while he laughed and taking it away from him. Heyelped, surprised, and ran after you as you made an evil laugh. Dueto his height, he caught you in no time. You crossed your arms andpuffed out your cheeks like a child.Suddenly, your face lightenedwith an idea. Before Papyrus could react, you put his scarf aroundyour neck, the tissue so big on your shoulders it was covering yourchest, the scarf’s edge falling on your back all the way toPapyrus’ kneels. Talking about the happy skeleton, his mouthwas open, the words stuck on his throat. He was always loud andenergetic, but in some occasion, he talked lower or stopped moving.It wasn’t the same thing at this moment.He closed his mouth andyou looked at him in the eyes, your face full of incomprehension tohis sudden behavior. An orange, fluorescent blush creeped on hischeekbones. He held you close and nestled his face against yourchest. You were his little heaven, he couldn’t just act likenothing happened. He sat on the couch with you, whispering littlepraises in your ears. He wanted only you to ear his voice and youwere happy he was spending time with you.

Your boyfriend was an asshole.

Yeah, sometimes he could bepainful for your brain with his constant screams and his ego, but hewas nice. Even if he said he wasn’t, he was in reality a littlesofty. But, as much as you love him, the second this smirk took placeon his face, your heart screamed revenge.

Everything was fine when youwake up, Rus (FS Papy) making breakfast and Black (FS Sans) doingwhatever he thought must be done. Getting up, you walk outside theroom, yawning lazily, to be meet by an innocent, smiling littleskeleton in front of the stairs. Wait. Innocent ? Your mindstarted working, a bit too late. Your feet bumped against what seemsto be a rope and….You had the great honour to take a morningshower. Of flour. Awesome. Slowly, you turned toward the prankmaster, who was laughing on the ground. But something caught youreyes, and the second later you already had a plan. You jumped on hisback, took his scarf and ran downstairs. Black wasn’t happy. Hewasn’t going to let this happen, not after his fabulous prank. Butthat was easily said than done. Once he was in the living room, hetried to jump on you to make you fall but you move in the lastmoment. Black faceplant on the couch. You ran upstairs as he quicklyfollow you. After a very long time of him chasing you with screams,you decided to go on the attic. There was a little balcony were youcould go from there, but it was a bit difficult since the stairs werebroken. Catching Black comming in the corner of your eyes, youlaughed and took some time to open the door.

Black saw you and groaned. Hedidn’t like going there. What ?! No he wasn’t scared ! Ofcourse not ! It was just really durty because nobody really usedthe attic. He followed you again and found you on the last step thatwas intact. He sigh angrily.

So ? Aren’t you going tocome with me, shorty ?

He frowned and start screaminghe wasn’t short but then he really looked at you. Your hair were amess and flour was everywhere your face. Talking about ir, yourcheeks were really red. Was it from running or where blushing ?He couldn’t care less for the reason in this moment. His bandana waswrapped around your neck. Your laugh  echoed in his non-existantears.

You looked like an adventurer.He smiled sweetly. Black summoned some bones to replace the step andtook your hands.

You sat on the balcony,watching the sky becoming more blue as the time passed, your head onBlack’s lap and his fingers running against your neck. Your boyfriendwas maybe an asshole, but he was the sweetest boyfriend you coulddream of.

THROUGH A RAPIST’S EYES” (PLS TAKE TIME TO READ THIS. It may save a life, It may save your life.)

“Through a rapist’s eyes. A group of rapists and date rapists in prison were interview…ed on what they look for in a potential victim and here are some interesting facts:

1] The first thing men look for in a potential victim is hairstyle. They are most likely to go after a woman with a ponytail, bun! , braid, or other hairstyle that can easily be grabbed. They are also likely to go after a woman with long hair. Women with short hair are not common targets.

2] The second thing men look for is clothing. They will look for women who’s clothing is easy to remove quickly. Many of them carry scissors around to cut clothing.

3] They also look for women using their cell phone, searching through their purse or doing other activities while walking because they are off guard and can be easily overpowered.

4] The number one place women are abducted from / attacked at is grocery store parking lots.

5] Number two is office parking lots/garages.

6] Number three is public restrooms.

7] The thing about these men is that they are looking to grab a woman and quickly move her to a second location where they don’t have to worry about getting caught.

8] If you put up any kind of a fight at all, they get discouraged because it only takes a minute or two for them to realize that going after you isn’t worth it because it will be time-consuming.

9] These men said they would not pick on women who have umbrellas,or other similar objects that can be used from a distance, in their hands.

10] Keys are not a deterrent because you have to get really close to the attacker to use them as a weapon. So, the idea is to convince these guys you’re not worth it.

POINTS THAT WE SHOULD REMEMBER:

1] If someone is following behind you on a street or in a garage or with you in an elevator or stairwell, look them in the face and ask them a question, like what time is it, or make general small talk: can’t believe it is so cold out here, we’re in for a bad winter. Now that you’ve seen their faces and could identify them in a line- up, you lose appeal as a target.

2] If someone is coming toward you, hold out your hands in front of you and yell Stop or Stay back! Most of the rapists this man talked to said they’d leave a woman alone if she yelled or showed that she would not be afraid to fight back. Again, they are looking for an EASY target.

3] If you carry pepper spray (this instructor was a huge advocate of it and carries it with him wherever he goes,) yelling I HAVE PEPPER SPRAY and holding it out will be a deterrent.

4] If someone grabs you, you can’t beat them with strength but you can do it by outsmarting them. If you are grabbed around the waist from behind, pinch the attacker either under the arm between the elbow and armpit or in the upper inner thigh – HARD. One woman in a class this guy taught told him she used the underarm pinch on a guy who was trying to date rape her and was so upset she broke through the skin and tore out muscle strands the guy needed stitches. Try pinching yourself in those places as hard as you can stand it; it really hurts.

5] After the initial hit, always go for the groin. I know from a particularly unfortunate experience that if you slap a guy’s parts it is extremely painful. You might think that you’ll anger the guy and make him want to hurt you more, but the thing these rapists told our instructor is that they want a woman who will not cause him a lot of trouble. Start causing trouble, and he’s out of there.

6] When the guy puts his hands up to you, grab his first two fingers and bend them back as far as possible with as much pressure pushing down on them as possible. The instructor did it to me without using much pressure, and I ended up on my knees and both knuckles cracked audibly.

7] Of course the things we always hear still apply. Always be aware of your surroundings, take someone with you if you can and if you see any odd behavior, don’t dismiss it, go with your instincts. You may feel little silly at the time, but you’d feel much worse if the guy really was trouble.

FINALLY, PLEASE REMEMBER THESE AS WELL ….

1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do: The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do it.

2. Learned this from a tourist guide to New Orleans : if a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM. Toss it away from you…. chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you and he will go for the wallet/purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car: Kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The driver won’t see you but everybody else will. This has saved lives.

4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping,eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc. DON’T DO THIS! The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side,put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU CLOSE the DOORS , LEAVE.

5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage:

a. Be aware: look around your car as someone may be hiding at the passenger side , peek into your car, inside the passenger side floor, and in the back seat. ( DO THIS TOO BEFORE RIDING A TAXI CAB) .

b. If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.

c. Look at the car parked on the driver’s side of your vehicle, and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)

6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot).

7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; And even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN!

8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP IT! It may get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked “for help” into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.

Send this to any woman you know that may need to be reminded that the world we live in has a lot of crazies in it and it’s better safe than sorry.

What better day to end the year then with a basic guide to colouring- This is for beginners or intermediate artists. Colouring is a big part to an art piece, whether you decide to use colours or not, that’s up to you, but for the most part, having some knowledge on appliance of colour will really help you out!

COLOUR SLANG: I use some strange slang to express colour types and shades as well as groups. Although they may not be canonically correct, I will use these terms to describe colour palates to the best of my ability! Analogous: Colours that are near or adjacent to each other on the colour wheel, EG: Red and Orange

Oppositional/complimentary: Colours that are opposed or opposite from each other on the colour wheel, EG: Cherry and Green

Triadic: Colours that form a triangle on the Colour wheel, EG: Cyan, Magenta and Yellow. These three colours when mixed together will make black.

Arrowtype/Quadcolour: Four colours, that generally form an arrow shape on the colour wheel.

Tetradic: Colours that form a rectangle or square in the colour wheel

Neons: The very brightest you can get a colour, be careful where you use them as they can look ugly together at the most. Try to use neons when you are adding bright glowing objects to your piece. Neons are great for highlights.

Brights: Slightly washed Neons. Appropriate if you have characters that are colourful.

Washed: Very washed brights with a hint of grey. These are also useful for colourful characters.

Pastels: Colour with white in them to make them seem light.

Baby Pastel: Pastel with even more white in them, good for subtle highlights.

Darks: Colour with black added to them. Used mostly for lineart.

Mustards: Colours with dark grey added to them

Earthen: Colours with brown added to them

Warm and Cool colours: Warm colours are colours that range fromMagenta to Yellow. Cool ones range from Lime to Fuchsia.

Straight tones: A greyscale palate. or a straight scale of one colour from black to it’s neon form.

Warm and cool tones: Warm tones are a greyscale mixed with warm colours and cool tones are greyscale mixed with cool colours.

Skintones: Warm washed or pastel colours generally used to colour in skin, but they don’t have to be warm at all! ( I will not show you a palate for this however)

WHAT TO AVOID WHEN COLOURING: beginner artists, tend to go ahead and start by colouring their line art with neon and mustard colours. Neons are not necessarily good for base colours unless the character has a glow.

I often see lazy attempts to shade, often a beginner artist with use an airbrush and use black and white to shade and highlight their piece. This is not very effective, and I’m sorry to say… It’s kind of gross as well. Try to avoid being lazy. If you have a piece that has bold black lines, avoid using soft shading and airbrushing at this point of time.

Black and white isn’t always the best option when colouring in your piece, but it also depends on the style you are trying to convey. If you plan on only using straight tones to colour in a piece, black and white is good.

A GOOD BASIC WAY TO COLOUR For this basic tutorial I will show you a nice way to colour in a piece with bold lines. I will be using Minty’s Classic character as an example.

Begin with using brights that have been washed down a little and washed skin tones if your character is human based. Avoid using neons or mustards if you are able. If there is white on the character, such as the white on an eyeball or the teeth, consider using baby pastels. For Minty’s eyeballs I have used a baby pastel blue. I have chosen to use a darker and more washed version for her Irises.

With you foundation colours placed down, use a washed warm colour for the skin tone, such as a salmon. If the character’s hair or fur is warm coloured, use a pink or red orange to shade that as well. Use the cell shading technique. This may mean you will have to erase some of your shading so be sure to do this on another layer. For your baby pastels, you can use a regular pastel to shade it. For Minty’s eyes I have used pastel blue and lowered the opacity by a little.

For Highlights, I have chosen to use baby pastel yellow. I wanted the piece to be warm.

Applying a light airbrush over the top of the piece makes it feel a little softer. I have also applied the airbrush over the initial borders to create colour bleed, giving a very subtle reflective approach.

Colouring your line art layer, particularly if you have bold lines, can really make a piece look more interesting! I like to leave the overall outline black. You can gradient and bleed colour in your line art as well

Light tracing is a technique lots of artist’s use, where they run a sharp line of highlight next to line art to divide borders.

This looks a lot nicer than the black and white shading, doesn’t it!? __________________________________________
