i know that a lot of people don’t care about the idea of public lands being sold, which saddens me greatly because that’s literally your land! like yeah it technically belongs to the state but the state holds it in trust for you! and your children! and your children’s children and their children’s children!

public lands support biodiversity, provide places for outdoor recreation, and beyond being useful they’re an endemic part of what makes the USA the country that it is

US politicians who even entertain the idea of selling our public lands are not your friends, and in fact the sale of public lands is a canary in the coal mine for all the other terrible shit those politicians are willing to do at the expense of the american people

Since being diagnosed with cancer my husband has become very willing to step into arguments at his workplace and elsewhere because “nobody wants to be seen yelling at the guy with brain cancer” and so far his success rate is shockingly high.

back in college i interned for a summer at a start up magazine that went no where and i had to write wellness articles or some shit. and i wrote the line, "everyone has experienced heartbreak at one point or another" and my editor like circled it and said "don't assume everyone has the same experiences as you" and i was like ???? so then i did a test and in the next article i wrote a line that said "you probably remember [X concept] from your college health class" and she approved it without comment. so apparently in her world, going to college is more universal than heartbreak.

my roommate got amongus ejected from a polycule a few years back and shes always told the story as "i started argung with one girlfriend so she manipulated my other girlfriend to turn against me." and while i dont know how true to life that version of events is i do greatly enjoy imagining the polycule equivilent of the kings evil advisor whispering in their ear grima wormtongue style. its got a flair to it.
