I'm aware most people consider multiple reasons for giving a verdict, please vote based on either your main/strongest reason or the reason you've passed the most verdicts for.
#for me it's a mix of judging their murder (how understandable it is/how safe it would be for the culprit to go back to society)#and partially as meta voting (what will happen inside the prison/what the character has said or asked for)#but of course my liking/dislking a character afects how deeply I'll ponder their case#for example i'm not a big haruka or muu fan so i voted them both guilty solely because of their crimes (i was fine with the consequences)#and i don't care much for shidou so i first voted him inno just because he wanted guilty then inno again for the sake of the others#now when it comes to yuno amane and kazui i dissect and analyze their cases like a professional detective because they're my favs#its a bit frustrating how in a story based off of audience interference your fav's fate might be determined by people who don't understand#or just dislike their character and so don't treat them with the nuance they deserve#but that's all part of the experiment and its message i'd say#(that is to say i don't vote carelessly#i love analyzing and debating about even the characters who interest me the least#i feel like when interacting with a media like milgram it's more fun for everyone involved if you respect all cases and don't troll any vot#but of course that personal taste affects it in places)

HEY CHAT
I think I'm cooking here
So like I was rewatching the Life mv again and I focused a bit on the text at the end that pretty much explained everything.
And so then I like thought back to the last page of that text, which also made me think back to the text on Haruka's video

And so I feel like this text refers to the point in time at which the characters were taken to Milgram! Cause Yuno in her voice drama says that she remembers returning to school prior to being taken to Milgram, which lines up with what was said, "Save data from the *point where the subject resumes normal life post regaining consciousness* to Milgram."
So if I'm right, that implies that Haruka was pulled into Milgram like right after he committed his murder.
BUT!!! What matters here is the start of both statements, "Save data". I was thinking about this for a while, and so I think what this implies is that the characters we meet in Milgram aren't the actual characters.
Instead, they are COPIES of the characters pulled from specific points in time.
And uh. Yeah.

i think what sticks out to me most about yuno's file (?) at the end is the whole "it just ended up being that way" thing. i feel like that kind of sums up everything she has going on.
she doesn't have the troubled childhood most people would expect, but ends up doing sex-work anyway. she uses protection, but gets pregnant anyway. before she can decide what she wants to do, the fetus dies from an accident. (or if we're to take it as a suicide attempt, she chose to die and ended up alive anyway) all she wants is for someone to say she was wrong, for someone to care enough to reprimand her, and gets voted innocent repeatedly anyway.

personally i think yuno’s misremembering it as an accident due to disassociation. doesnt make sense that she would go to the top of an abandoned building, stand in front of the staircase, and then not fall intentionally. Idk this is confusing
#i'm shocked so many people accept that it was an accident#why would they show us yuno imagining herself jumping in front of an oncoming train if not to express her suicidal thoughts?

A brief insight into a world where animals vocalize like Pokémon:
Patient: “What’s wrong with me?”
Doctor: “Well let’s take a listen.”

There is something to be said about how Sinners isn't saying to lock the door on black culture and never let anyone else in. A big part of the scene of Sammie singng at the juke joint is the fact that there are other cultures involved. The chinese characters are accepted gladly and their culture is also shown in the process of looking back and forward.
In my opinion Sinners does point to the issue that white supremacy and a lot of white people who don't think they are racist like to iron over the culture they take in. Seperate it from the context and the people who created the culture until the heart of it is basically gone.
Remmick is a racist, but he also would have likely had a chance to interact with the culture in a normal way and connect with his own if he had just accepted that he wasn't the center of Sammie's music. The need to rip away Sammie's memories, talent, and culture and assimilate it into the hoard for his own gain without caring about what that culture means for the people it came from is the issue with Remmick. It is also the issue with a lot of people who want to view and interact with black culture, but get icked out when they actually have to be faced with the centuries of struggle that led to that genre of music, or dance, or hairstyle being created.

Oh my GOD saw Sinners again… everybody trying to take Sammie’s voice (Remmick wanting to take it and use it for himself, his father telling him to give his voice to God, even Smoke telling him to give up the blues for his own good). But in the end his voice belongs to HIM!! it’s HIS gift it’s HIS power and he holds onto it and builds a life for himself with his music!!! It’s is his connection to his past and his avenue to his future
