On a whim I'm catching up with the Spooky Spring Art Party - prompt 1-2 is "Magic" and I wanted to draw something hwfwm!

It's that moment when Jason is considering using the dark essence and the awakening stone of the stars. Looking it up, I was surprised the essence cube was described as about 15cm! I thought they were like the size of a rubix cube for some reason. And the awakening stone was "fist sized" which is pretty relative but still a bit bigger than my original mental image.

Either way, I like how it turned out. First finished drawing in a while ^^;

YO! Was chatting on the HWFWM (I like to call it HeeHoo) Discord server and thought of a funny theoretical scenario, and someone mentioned you make HWFWM fanart, so I immediately looked you up to share the idea, if you want to draw it.

I've drawn Humphrey in his armor before but here's another stab at it

Prompt 28 is "Dragon" and that's a perfect prompt for some He Who Fights With Monsters fanart, I settled with a new interpretation of slightly older Humphrey in his dragon armor.

My mental image is a golden color with a holo/rainbow sheen, basically a more golden version of a bobbit worm! Which are pretty little nightmare worms, in case you wanna to look them up.

I view prompts in art challenges as starting points, not assignments.

Prompt 10 is "Black Lagoon" and my thought process went like this: Black Lagoon ➡ that's basically a lake ➡ I could draw Jason Voorhees in the lake ➡ OORRR I could draw that one idea I had that came from joking with friends about Jason Voorhees going after people who were sinning and the fact Jason Asano has the sin essence....yeah, let's do that one.

I'm doing a Drawlloween challenge on my main blog/instagram, and today I made witch hats with a HWFWM twist. Which is totally cool and not weird at all.

Prompt 5 is "Witch" ....let me explain😅 I've seen witch hat designs that represent things like zodiac signs, seasons, and holidays - and I took that idea and applied it to Jason's familiars from He Who Fights With Monsters.

Shade - It's classic, elegant, and perfectly symmetrical. It'd be velvet with a patent leather band, and a silky sheer veil to cover the wearer's face. All in black, of course.

Colin - everything looks a little wet. It has a longer, crooked peak and is wrapped in worm-like cords. Secret teeth underneath!

Gordon - is his the prettiest?? The upper is a sparkly blue-black velvet, with colorful, pintucked fabric underneath. I'd want to put lights under the underneath fabric, so it would be glowing softly.

Sorry I couldn't do the HWFWM fanart stream I wanted to do on Monday, I still had to wrap up stuff for the festival I was drawing at and then I got sick >w>;

Maybe its because I'm sick but I don't care that it's not glazed. I am so TIRED about fretting about posting art online. I don't feel particularly welcome on the internet as an artist anymore, but I still wanna make n share stuff, you know?

I was doing an art challenge on my Twitch/main blog, MiscWitchling, and the last prompt was "Costume party" aaaaand there was a costume party scene in book 4!

From left to right we got; Ian dressed as a pirate, Erika dressed as the Riddler, Jason being a spooky sorta Sith in the back, Amy dressed as the fourth Doctor Who and Kaito dressed as a Miami Vice guy. Is this the first time I've drawn Amy and Kaito? Oops.

The full outfit I designed for Farrah in the last meme post!

Like I said in that post, I designed her everyday adventure outfit to be a gambeson, since she conjures armor to fight in. I realized my mental image of her outfit was something close to Nausicaa from the Miyazaki manga, so I gave her similar leather padded boots. (also tbh she'd probably wear her hair up, but I wanted to draw it down)

Also! Spoiler? This is early books design. I have an idea for what she'd wear later, when she's doing less adventuring

Also I spent way too long designing an adventurer outfit for Farrah just for this. I figured since she has conjured armor her normal gear could be lighter, and aimed for a red gambeson outfit with flame/volcano inspired details.

I was going to wait to post that full Farrah design when I get her obsidian armor design done and post them together, but should I just post it now?

I've drawn Rufus before but I wanted to make a better version - a bit more true to my comic-y style than trying too hard with rendering I'm not as comfortable with. This time with a full outfit! This is particularly books 1-3, so Bronze Rank.

he's described often as a very beautiful man

he denies shining his bald head

he has one gold and one silver sword with his sun/moon powers, so I used those and his blue boots for the palette

he has some aforementioned ridiculously ostentatious blue boots that twitch chat helped me make as glorious as possible

I always felt like he'd have a fancy man suit-style adventurer outfit.

Did you know his family runs a school?

A HWFWM character I've been meaning to post for a while - Vincent from Greenstone, books 1-3!

His most noted features were his magnificent mustache and hat with large feather! He ended up looking suspiciously musketeer-y, but this is pretty much exactly how I pictured him in my head reading it so I'm happy with it.

This is specifically iron-rank, as seen in Greenstone in the first 3 books, with her conjured hammer. Also, my take for the Church of Knowledge clergy robes, which were described as "flowing robes of blue and white, with a sigil of a book sewn prominently into them"
