“Eddie, your face is doing that thing again.” Eddie knows exactly what thing Hen means. He can feel it, how his expression has morphed into something unpleasant — his brows furrowed, his mouth set in a hard line. He’s pretty sure that if the power of a glare could set something alight, there would be one less 9-1-1 dispatcher in the world right now. Still, he asks, “What thing?”, because he’s had about three too many drinks to not be a bit of a bitch right now. But that’s hardly his fault. When Karen suggested a night out with the whole gang — a Pride event at a gay bar — Eddie had been an immediate yes. Sure, he had yet to come out to the team — had hardly had time to process it all himself, outside of the realisation that he had entirely not platonic feelings for his best friend and current housemate — but a night out was still a chance to all hang out. Between getting set back up in LA, Maddie having her baby, and Bobby’s resurrection, it had been a while since they managed to wrangle the whole group together. Eddie just didn’t realise until the ensuing group chat working through logistics, that that included one Josh Russo — Public Enemy Number One. Or: Eddie is not homophobic. He's Joshphobic.
