Literally a lot of antisemitism recently boils down into "I am assuming this jewish person is a zionist based solely off the fact that they're visibly jewish and my definition of zionism is just kahanism and not the jewish definition of zionism".

And I'm talking mainly about irl antisemitism as online antisemitism has a few more steps.

Every time I have been called a slur by a pro Palestine person irl, it has been because I'm visibly Jewish. It's only been strangers who do not know my political opinion calling me slurs in public. The only information they have is that I look Jewish. I do not wear any political symbols.

It doesn't matter how hard you try to disguise your antisemitism as antizionism. If you are approaching someone who looks Jewish, through features or an identifying object like a magen david, kippah, peyot, etc, without explicitly knowing exactly where they stand, then you're only approaching them because they're jewish.

Sure, it has been disheartening and depressing to see many Western opinion leaders I once admired abandon reason, abandon journalistic integrity, embrace ahistorical, counterfactual views and rail against Israel.

At the same time, though, I feel an overwhelming sense of nausea noticing many of Israel's loudest advocates in the West are deeply awful people who include enemies of democracy, Christian Nationalists, MAGA conservatives, and bigots of several varieties.

Those "allies" aren't friends to the Jewish State or the Jewish People.

I have nothing more insightful to say about this, I just wanted to acknowledge the constant, chronic nausea this seems to cause in me because...while I don't see it being discussed much, I'm betting that many of you feel the same.

Movements like Log Cabin Republicans and Queers for Palestine require a commitment to either dishonesty or willful ignorance to sustain their worldview.

I have spent 502 days hearing the watermelon crowd harp on about children dying and suffering and starving. Never once have I heard them mention the Bibas family. And if it is confirmed to be their bodies, I'm going to continue hearing nothing about their tragedy from anyone but Jews.

These kids could've come home if only the world rallied together for them. Instead it was decided that they were evil colonizers who deserved only death, for the simple crime of being born within some imaginary lines on a map.

In the wake of 9/11 and in the quarter century since, Muslims in the West have suffered from utterly atrocious levels of Islamophobia. I won’t ever deny that or defend it. It is unconscionable and should be seen as abhorrent as any other kind of racism.

What that doesn’t mean is that we should overcorrect and view any criticism of extremist Islamism as racist. Islam is a religion, one followed by almost 2 billion people worldwide. Islamism is an extreme political ideology, one that uses Islam as an excuse for the appalling horrors they commit. They are not the same.

And the thing is, the people who are most victimised by Islamists, by far, *are* the millions of Muslims living in the countries where they wield the most power, some who very courageously speak out and resist and try to expose the horrific crimes committed against their populations, only to be met mostly with silence and indifference.

Conflating criticism of extremist ideology and terrorism with Islamophobia silences the voices of ordinary Muslims suffering under these regimes, and makes a mockery of their bravery.
