Today is Armenian genocide remembrance day. On april 24, 1915 started mass deportations of hundreds of Armenian intelectuals and community leaders, who were (most of the time) eventually killed. Armenian women and children were systematically r//ed and forcibly converted into islam. There were more than 2 milion Armenians in ottoman empire prior to ww1, 1,5 milion of them were viciously killed. Three millennia of Armenian civilaziation in eastern Anatolis was fully destroyed. Turkey today refuses to acknowledge genocides of christian minorities in early 20th century.

Do you know that mass ethnic cleansing of Armenians in ottoman empire inspired Lemkin to coin the term 'genocide'?

Last year in september azerbaijan allied with turkey initiated a war against Armenia. More that 5000 Armenians were murdered, thousands of Armenia families had to live their ancestrial land to not get murdered. There are hundreds of vids on internet where armenian p.o.w.s are tortured. Recently azerbaijan opened a "museum" displayind dead or dying Armenians and kids were allowed to visit it.

Lihkku beiviin/læhkoeh biejjine/vuorbbe biejvijn Sápmi/Saepmie/Sábme!!

Happy birthday, Sápmi! Today is the national Sámi day, and the day is celebrated by the Sámi all over and even outside Sápmi! It is celebrated with family and friends, food and drinks, music and joik, and laughter and games.

This day is very important for many people, even for the whole of Sápmi. And in the spirit of this day, I want to mention some of Sápmi’s most important figures in the fight against the colonization, discrimination and racism the Sámi people have faced and still faces.

Elsa Kristina Laula Renberg (1877-1931)

Elsa Laula Renberg was a Southern Sámi woman, reindeer herder, activist, politician, and much more. She was the first Sámi woman to have her writings published. These writings included discussions of the issues the Sámi faced, such as their education, right to own land, the right to vote, etc. The Sámi national spirit was high and reawakened during this time, which made her writings especially important. She encouraged other Sámi women to work and help with this cause. She founded the South Sámi Fatmomakka Association, the first Sámi activist organisation. Her battle was a long one, and she inspired the whole of Sápmi and she til this day remain as one of Sápmi’s most important activists.

Nils-Aslak Valkeapää (1943-2001)

Nils-Aslak Valkeapää (also known as Áillohás) was a Northern Sámi man, artist, singer, author, musician, illustratior, joiker, etc. He was the first Sámi arthour to recive the Nordic Council Literature Prize. He became one of the biggest artist in Sápmi, with the whole world seeing his creations. Áillohás was a pioneer for the joik, not only by bringing it for the everyone to listen, but for combining it with instruments and other genres. He never shyed away from creating art, often creating poems and photos, illustrating it with drawings and paintings, which was often Sámi-centric. He also was politicially active, often talking about the issues the Sámi faced and he was even Culturecoordinatior in World Council of Indigenous Peoples. Ella Marie Hætta Isaksen (1998-)

Ella Marie Hætta Isaksen is a Northern Sámi woman, artist, singer, joiker, activist, actor, author, etc. She is today one of Sápmi’s most important people, due to her work as an activist. She is often looked up at as one of Sápmi’s faces. She is an active activist and dedicate a lot of her time and power to fight for Sápmi and against the colonization Sápmi faced, and all the injustices the Sámi still face today. She burns for Sápmi, and have no trouble in bringing up the issues the Sámi face with the public, especially the Norwegian public and goverment. A lot of what she does, centers around the Sámi values in the form of music and acting. She is the main character of the movie Ellos eatnu - la elva leve which has become one of Sápmi’s most important movies. (Ella Marie Hætta’s book is called Derfor må du vite at jeg er same, for anyone that wants to check it out! Please do!)

Breaking News: People don't pay attention to currency exchange!

We are 1 year into the accelerated genocide, but there are people who don't bother to look into currency exchange when they are donating to fundraisers who have different currencies from their own!

Basma Al-Ghoul (@basmaalghoul) is the perfect example of this. Her fundraiser is set in Swedish Krona and she would receive donations in LITERAL pennies. There are many times where donors have given her 5 SEK (48 cents)! This is not enough when GFM takes 30 cents from every donation, so you give her NOTHING at the end of the day!

So for the love of every God, old and new, you need to to Google the currency exchange when you are contributing to her! $10 = 103 SEK.

Now, let's help Basma achieve the short-term goal of 45K SEK ($4,317 USD)! 43,872 SEK ($4,211 USD) has been raised. There is 1,128 SEK ($108 USD) left to go!

This campaign is relatively new but I have it on very good authority that it is legitimate.

Hussam needs to evacuate 13 of his family members from Gaza, including his sister who gave birth in February and now has an infant to care for as well as a young daughter. He’s already lost more than 18 of his family members, and now his remaining family are spread out in refugee camps across southern Gaza.

What can I do to make you care about our Black brothers and sisters? There are many times where they have asked for our help, but we only pay attention when it is too late. Look at what has transpired over the past couple of months.

There is LaKeith Smith who has been wrongfully sentenced for killing a police officer. The coldblooded murder of Sonya Massey. The cruel ruling of Breonna Taylor's boyfriend. The unjust execution of Marcellus "Khaliifah" Williams. The Haitian community has been targeted by Donald as well as the US-backed paramilitary terrorizes Haiti.

Then we go to the other side of the planet. The migrant workers are locked in wealthy Lebanese houses. There are genocides in Australia, DR Congo, Sudan, Tigray, and West Papua. Black lives are dying everyday, every hour, every second. We turn a blind eye every time!

I'm Ahmed Sadeq, I'm 30 years old, a Palestinian from Gaza.

Before the war, our life was full of happiness, where l worked for on online news newspaper.

I was preparing for my wedding to partner Hadeel which was going to take place in December 2023, I was also preparing our house for us to live in

Afrer the start of the war on Gaza, I lost my job due to constant internet outage.

Unfortunately, I lost the house in which I intended to live with my wife Hadeel.

I had ro get married without a wedding and lived in modest tent.

We were able to leave Gaza to Egypt, with my wife and elderly parents who suffer from" chronic diseases ", by paying the evacuation cost of 5,000$ per person.

Now we all live in one house in a modest neighborhood called Arbaeen in Cairo

How Funds Will Be Used:

Basic Necessities: your generous donation will go toward help us to pay the house rent and meet our basic needs of food, drink, and clothing, in addition to medicine for my elderly parents in Egypt.

None of us have permanent residency in Egypt and therefore we can't work.

They live in difficult conditions and are surrounded by insects and snakes.

I have been avoiding to make a post about the 1 year mark. Almost everyone has written something about it so there is no point for me to join in. But given how slow donations has been going over the past few days, I have to say something.

Please do not be defeatist. It is easy to give in. Especially when the settler colony keeps attacking the Ghazzah Strip, the West Bank, and Lebanon. People are martyred every single day. So many are injured and wounded. They are in so much agony and pain. All you can do is watch. So you feel utterly helpless and hopeless.

As we mourn over the lives that have been taken away from, there are families who are still alive to this day. They have managed to escape death. They login and let us know that they are OK.

Suad Ahmad (#279 in the Spreadsheet) is my dear friend who has survived for the past year. She is in Nuseirat with her newborn son, Khaled and she is doing everything she can to make the best out of the situation. But, of course, things have been difficult. Purchasing baby formula, diapers, and winter clothes is a strain on her mind, so let's help her, please! All I want is for them to have enough basic necessities as well as have enough funds when Rafah Crossing reopens!

Today is october 7th officially marking 365 days, 1 year, of the most well recorded genocide in history; of an occupation of a people which has been ongoing for 76 years. An entire year of constant israeli bombardment. Hundreds of thousands killed and missing. All the while, the people with the most power to stop the genocide continue to support and defend the politicians carrying out the slaughter.

Yet, it is also a year since the Palestinian resistance definitively proved to the world that israel is not only not the all-knowing state entity many believed nor that they were invincible or undefeatable. Over the course of the year, the resistance and its allies in Lebanon and Yemen have handed out defeats to not just israel but the west lead by the united states as well proving that those institutions and militaries are not invincible.

In israel itself, tens of thousands of bsuinesses are closing or have closed; its ports are under blockade; the settlers are fighting amongst themselves or leaving; it is a settler colony beginning to buckle under the simultaneousforces of its internal contradictions and of the Palestinian resistance. No doubt the struggle for liberation and against settler colonialism will continue until all the contradictions are resolved just as it were it rhodesia and south africa.

May we see a free Palestine in our lifetimes.
