listen, i love The Answer as much as the next guy, but i kinda hate how rushed it was.

why couldnt they do multiple episodes of garnet’s first days / appearances as a fusion? actual development of Ruby and Sapphire’s relationship? they said in canon “love takes time, and love takes work.” but apparently rupphire happened in a literal day?? like, yeah, its a sweet story but it doesnt hold up to what Garnet’s stated about love and trust. 

like, imagine it like in a bomb format.

-Episode one is kinda like The Answer. Ruby and Sapphire accidentally fuse, then flee the arena. They explore earth by themselves (implied to be a year)

-Episode Two is meeting Rose and Pearl. They discover on Earth, you can be anyone you want to be! By this time, Ruby and Sapphire are very affectionate and loving towards each other, but havent really thought about Garnet much. 

-Episode three, Garnet returns. An episode is dedicated to her learning how to be herself, adjusting to this strange new form, discovering her own powers.

-Episode four, some soldiers of BD find Garnet and the others (bismuth is there. she just is, okay). They have to fight, and Garnet is stressed and runs away. This is the first time she ever learns how to go into her own headspace and calm down, aka “Mindful Education” reference. 

-The last episode is Ruby and Sapphire poof or something. Rose and Pearl are shown being worried about them, and if they would still want to be CG’s. Ruby and Sapphire reform around the same time, lacking diamond signs on their clothes. They renounce their diamonds and join the CG’s officially, then fusing into Garnet (Who is much more stable now, and her outfit is less cluttered). 

and maybe there’s a headspace scene where Ruby and Sapphire swear to always be with each other, forever, and to protect each other cuz thats cute. 

i just want better garnet development okay

the third is from a video beyoncé’s husband made called “the story of O.J.” where he utilizes minstrel images to create a point of how impactful they were/are

the last is a gem concept from the official steve universe art book. her name is concrete. one of her traits is she cannot read.
