Did she want to know? Simone wasn’t entirely sure. Having a name on the page was hard enough but it may as well be better. She could meet the man, let him know that she didn’t like marriage without telling him why. Maybe even scare him enough that she could be sure history wouldn’t repeat itself. “Putting a face to a name is always a good thing to be able to do.”
It’s with bated breath that he waits to discover what her answer is. Once he’s aware she answers in the affirmative; Clark searches his brain for a good way of letting the news break gently, choosing to slip his envelope onto the bar, his name displayed for all who were close and enough and desperate enough to inspect it, to see. “Snap.” He murmurs after a second or two of silence spreading between them, it was weird how everybody else in the bar had seemingly gone quiet, even if that wasn’t accurate. He’d blocked everything else out, now.

“I’m a werewolf, I’m not a dog. And those gross men would just call me a bitch.”
“I don’t think your species matters too much when it comes to the respect you’re owed. If that’s accurate than, those gross men aren’t even worth talking about.”

“I’ve gone through several people who believed they could make me settle, to tame me. They get tired of trying and they go. Not to be pessimistic, but you don’t seem the patient type,” she said bluntly. Even if he insisted, it would remain to be seen. Selena hadn’t needed to be tamed. She needed an equal and it was a tall order. “Maybe it’s the product of those telenovellas I find amusing.” It’s a weak joke, sure, but she figured it was time for one. “You’ll see for yourself sooner or later.”
The werewolf can only offer a knitted brow as an initial response, unsure of what he’s supposed to actually say. “...Who said anything about taming you? You tame a cat, not a woman. We’re not living in the dark ages anymore.” It was true that Aneurin had no patience, but he wasn’t sure what patience was necessary for, at least not in this circumstance. “I’ve never seen one, I’m afraid to say.” The Welsh man admits, lips pursing, brow cocking. “I guess I will. Sooner rather than later, I hope.”

Ashley had done his fair share of stupid things and he could say that he had fallen asleep in odd places. Though he usually found that a park bench in the middle of the day was not somewhere that he usually did it. The amusement was clear on his face as the guy roused and he had to bite his lip to stop himself from laughing. “I uh– I didn’t say anything. Though I was definitely thinking many things.”
"Uh. I don’t know what you mean by that, man. but telling a guy that’s just woke up that you were thinking many things is a mistake, just so you are aware...” Josh advises, rubbing his hand across his temple as he tries to realign with the world around him, to force himself to remain awake and alert. “Sounds creepy.” He adds on for good measure; in between a grumble and a groan. “You even going to enlighten me on what those things were, dude?”

Elsa took a breath before her eyes landed on him and she smiled slightly. She was so nervous to speak, to be honest with him but looking at him made her feel hopeful. She reached out and put her hand on his shoulder so she could at least have something to brace herself she thought. “I didn’t know that I was a witch until a few years ago. My parents died when I was little and it just kind of all went downhill from here.” This was hard but it also felt good to talk about it. “I have an older brother too…. or did? I don’t even know if he’s still alive. He was supposed to come back for me when he turned 18 and he didn’t. He just left me in the foster system.”
Listening closely to every word that escaped Elsa’s lips was paramount to Ford. His gaze never wanders, his focus never shifts. Eyes grow wider when she explains how new the knowledge of her being a witch is, he can only go by his own circumstance to even try to understand what that must have been like. “Wow.” Is all he can say at first; his brain still processing everything, trying to understand the situation as a whole. “Do you think...something did happen to him?” He’ll ask sheepishly, not willing to make her uncomfortable and not wanting to put any horrible thoughts into her head either. He didn’t know how any of this could have altered his perception of her, if anything she’s all the stronger in his eyes as a result of him knowing the truth. “How did you find out like...did something happen? Sorry, I’m asking...You don’t have to answer any of those.”

This town was beautiful and flowing with magic which was part of why Diana could say that she loved it. It wasn’t home but one day it might be and she could see that happening. “This town is one of the nicest places around if people just take a moment to appreciate it,” Diana smiled at the man, “Good. Can’t complain.”
“I think anywhere can be the nicest place if you give it a chance.” Ford reflects, momentarily letting go of his cynical reputation for the sake of seeing the world in a kinder light. A gentle smile sweeps softly onto his expression then, “I’m glad to hear it. Complaining only gets us so far, I think.” He shrugs his shoulders, “busy day or...not really?”

“Its supposed to be one of the most haunted places in New Orleans” said Lennon. “Because of how many people suffered and died there.” He only knew a bit about the LaLaurie history, thanks to television. “But I’m glad you said that, because I’ve been too chicken to check it out on my own.” He laughed at himself for that. “Not that I believe in ghosts, unless you count the ancestors.”
“If you don’t believe, why are you so chicken? Well, I guess there’s not much logic in fear, is there?” Ringo shrugs his shoulders, realising he’s probably answered the question for himself, but he still leaves it open for Lennon to respond to if he wishes. “Why are we still standing here then, huh? I am in need of a spooking, this place is spooky enough as it is...I want to know what it takes for the people from this town to consider a place spooky. I’ve said spooky too many times now, haven’t I?” He laughs.

“Stepping out of your comfort zone isn’t always a bad thing” said Gia. “If nobody ever did that, the world would be a boring place.” At the mention of his name, her eyebrows furrowed in a way that would have given her wrinkles if she’d been human. “As in Ringo Starr?” she asked. She knew Ringo was the name of her fiance, but she suspected there had to be more than one of them here. After all, lots of people who were fans of the Beatles could have kids his age. Then she smiled. “Well, if you ever want some help with spending money, I’m the woman to come to.” She’d learned from Anastasia, and Anastasia was the best at that sort of thing. “We can go to the most expensive restaurant in the city, and then shopping afterwards.” Which was honestly Gia’s idea of the perfect day. “I’m getting used to it. Its going faster now that I’ve figured out all the best places to shop.” Those first few weeks, she’d felt like New Orleans was a fashion desert.
“You’re right about that. I need to step out of my comfort zone as much as possible, learn all there is to know about New Orelans, buy a billion pairs of shoes, even if I can’t always tell what’s good and what isn’t.” Ringo explains with a bright beam. Whilst he’d been somewhat overwhelmed when first arriving -- since he’d only left his home country a handful of times before and never for a reason this...massive, he was quite excited now. “No as in Ringo Rose.” The joke he’d been telling since he’d been a little boy was expelled before he had a chance to stop it, not that he really would in the first place. Sure, there was a possibility -- a rather strong possibility -- despite his desperation to act oblivious, that the woman he’d bumped into was indeed the person he was intended to marry. Still, he wasn’t going to lie about his identity, what was the point in that? “I guess it’s good I found you then huh? If you’re the woman to go to.” He adds on for good measure, licking at his lips. “Do the shops change frequently then? I never thought they did but then again...What do I know huh? As we’re discovering, not a lot.”

“I usually do” said Nikolai with a chuckle. “Even when I wish I didn’t.” Sometimes he thought life would be easier if he was a little more foolish. After all, fools seemed to have all the luck in life. “Why did you leave England?” he asked. “I’ve never been to San Francisco, but I’ve heard its an interesting city.” He hoped that he would get to travel some once this whole thing was over. He had a lot of the world to see. “A village in Bulgaria. Don’t bother asking its name; you won’t have heard of it.”
“Yeah, see I rarely have any points and I’m doing pretty well.” Artie smiles, a glint of mischief in his eye. He liked to come across slightly more foolish than he was, but he considered it funner to be a little more reckless. He was working on being a little more carefree, but he was sure it’d take some time. “Eh. You know...memories and that kind of thing, needed a fresh start away from -- reminders and that,” he scrunches his nose, shrugs his shoulders. “It’s very interesting. I miss it a lot.” He wishes he could go back; right now, not having to wait. “I wasn’t going to, believe me. Struggling to know where Bulgaria is, alone.” He’ll tease.

“I’m sorry to hear that” said Talia. She felt sorry for anybody who thought living in this hotel was a good arrangement. They obviously didn’t understand what it was like to have your own place to call home, the way she did. “Where would you rather be?” she asked. She’d lived in New Orleans her whole life and couldn’t imagine life anywhere else. At least the marriages had kept her within the city, if not her own home.
“Don’t be sorry, it happens.” He’d stopped feeling sorry for himself a long time ago, he didn’t need anybody else doing it for him. “I don’t know, I’ve been in New Orleans a long time, I guess it would have been a cooler arrangement if we’d been sent somewhere else like...Paris or Venice or...something like that.” He shrugs his shoulders; casual to a fault. “But here it’s just being moved into a place with a decent bed, like going on holiday in your own hometown...isn’t the most fun you can have, but it’ll do...”

Text 📱 Ophelia & Clark
Ophelia: We are. Not that I'm exactly an unbiased opinion.
Ophelia: Who was it that said 'hope for the best, prepare for the worst'? Who they were, they were smart.
Clark: I'm sure anyone who isn't bitter or sour would agree with you.
Clark: They were, that's the way I live these days, I used to be all optimism, but it gets exhausting fast.

Text 📱 Eponine & Clark
Eponine: Netflix is a life-saver. I've given my kids their own profile so that I don't constantly get recommended cartoons.
Eponine: Playdough is a good idea too. I remember how much fun I had when my mom and I made our own.
Clark: I can imagine that can get a bit annoying, though some of those cartoons are actually pretty decent.
Clark: I loved it a lot too, and then it's fun after you've made it too.
Clark: Fun for all the family.
Clark: Just don't let them use it near the carpet, my only advice.

“What are you talking about?” The werewolf asks, brows knitted together. To say he was judgemental, might have been an understatement -- though Nye would always say that he was working on it. How hard he was working on it, was another story. “I’m not sure...Are you drunk or something? Or...maybe you need a drink?” He purses his lips, because he certainly needed one if he was going to be dealing with this.

“I’m never going to get tired of these videos, Youtube is like the most amazing invention ever.” Eoghan chirps happily, more so talking to himself than...anybody else. It’s safe to say the male was well and truly distracted by the sights and sounds that he’s viewing on his mobile phone. “What are thoseeee,” he repeats loudly, grimacing a little when he realises he’s in a public place. “Oops. Sorry, but have you ever seen these before?”

He’d promised he’d only allow his eyes to close for a mere moment, his main aim to refresh them and himself from the exhaustion that consumed him. However a moment quickly became a second, a second quickly a minute -- a minute, becoming ten in what felt like a blink of an eye...literally. Until he could no longer calculate how long he’d allowed himself to rest his eyes. It’s with a jump that he’s roused. Realising that where he’s sat is hardly the place to stop take a nap. Sitting himself up, he does his best to wake himself up completely and it’s then and only then that he realises there’s a figure close by. “Oh, shit.” He’ll murmur; embarrassment stuns him, but he does his best not to let that show. “Did you say something? I -- Was somewhere else, then.”
