Dear friends in Amsterdam!
We are looking forward to meeting you on our upcoming edition of BIXARIA Saturday 6th of July.
BIXARIA is a party for anyone who is excluded or unfitting in patriarchal hetero-normative cis-tem and society and finds it for some reason unjust, unfair, boring, oppressive, ridiculous.
You are invited to experience a space centering gender and sexual dicidences and to support our community.
If this vocabulary is unfamiliar to you, don’t be afraid, come and support us.
You are not too old and you are Queer enough.
Here you can find our letter of intentions/door policy, and full statement. If you are in doubt if this space is for you or would like to understand more please read the full letter.
Important:
If you are a hetero cis male person or a white cis gay man, we recommend you to read the full letter.
If you are from a queer organization or have financial difficulties to attend the party, we have community tickets for gender dissidents centering people of color and immigrants, just let us know how many you need.
Hope to see you there!
Best,
The Boss

DOOR POLICY/Letter of intentions
The boss, La Gitana, invites you to their never-ending birthday party, a hyper profitable new enterprise. Keep one eye on the boss as you are the horse. At BIXARIA we play wharf*uk the boss want. To enter BIXARIA ,  you will need to be blessed by Mother Lucí, who will magically touch you Queer/ CUIR. Mother will be there the whole party to love and care for you, any doubts or discomfort cry to mama.
SAFER SPACE:  The struggle to produce Queer futuristic realities is a long term struggle that depends on social movements, social work and cosmological change. At BIXARIA  We want to propose a space where we can be BRAVE by taking care of each other, and letting go of the heteronormative standards imposed on us by the cis-tem.
Please read our door policy prior to attend to the event:
We are here to celebrate and experiment, you are invited to make your own experimentations and attempts with gender, sexuality and dance. You can shake your ass, but you are not obliged to.
You don’t need to look like anything, wear any specific type of clothes or have previous experiences. You are not too old to start. You are queer enough.
Stay focused on your body sensations and feelings and not on speculations about other people.
We don’t assume gender or sexuality of anyone here. You might receive flirting from anyone, be open, caring and respectful while saying yes or no.
The protagonists of this party are People of color, immigrants and gender dissidents , help us to hold space for them by engaging and celebrating their existence.
CUIR for us is anyone who cant’ fit in hetero-normative society or feels it’s unfair, unjust, oppressive and ridiculous.
If you receive harassment, discrimination, racism or any phobias, or if you need emotional support or mediation come to the awareness team that will take you to Mama. We respect her mediation above all. People might be escorted out in the case the mother decides to.
We will play Brazilian contemporary electronic music, but it’s not a rave party. The first DJS will play Baile Funk, Brega Funk, etc. The 3rd DJ plays techno brazilian.
There will be a place to dress up in the case you don’t feel safe to come to the party with the clothes you would like to use.
Arrive early so the first DJ doesn't feel unseen.
People in Amsterdam generally feel safer if you ask before touching them for any purpose.
WE ARE ALL AT HOME, THE PLANET EARTH. WE ARE ALL FROM HERE.

Full letter: "Are you in doubt about coming to BIXARIA or want to know how to support it?"
BIXARIA was born from two friends that created a party where they would like to go. We did it, because we were missing, we were tired, we were hopeful, we desired. We found many things a pain in the ass, so we decided to try something else. It is a handmade event with no ties to commercial places or sponsoring. We actually have never made any money from it.
We wanted to put together some form of Brazilian experience, as we missed our friends, chosen family and street parties and share it a bit to our queer community in Europe. But Brazil is faraway from being a paradise for Queer and socially vulnerable people.
We wanted to experience our gender dissidence and political beliefs and have a space to celebrate it. So you are welcome to enter our intimate space of experimentation as you are. Every edition is different and we try doing it according to the needs of the place we are and the local scene.
We don’t know everything. We are not part of the international convention of gender and anti-discrimination rules. We are creating and experimenting together while we do it.
We would like to share some things we learned:
We are aware that the resolution of all the questions below depend on lifelong dedication of social movements and that the changes we want will happen in centuries. Let's celebrate to honor the work of those who can before us and to try leaving a legacy we can be proud of to those to come. The party is only a short moment of it.
We are trying to center the space for gender dissent, non-normative people of color, immigrants and everyone that doesn't feel normative spaces are made for them to participate, like we feel. If you don’t see yourself in this group, come to support us and the space. Just help us to protect the protagonists and the centered people.
We are not really busy with trying to define categories, and we are not really sure gender really exists in the same way everywhere. It seems a bit weird that a whole society would be divided into two genders, as we experience many more. We don’t really think only two types of genitals exist, they all look very unique and different to us.
CUIR for us,  are not only those considered gay cis men. It includes everyone who experiences gender and hetero-normativity unjust, ridiculous, oppressive and can’t really fit in it.
You don’t need to justify to anyone your sexual routines or be busy with the gender reading of your partners. You can fuck whoever you want as long it is consensual. But in the party, try to be open to people flirting with you and to learn how to communicate what you want or don’t and to deal with fear. If you feel uncomfortable, or that there is something wrong happening, come to us.
We hope you take BIXARIA as a space of experimentation for yourself too, you will have to decide if you want to come to a place where gender won’t be reaffirmed. We don’t really assume what someone's gender is. You will see, FLINTA*, LGBTQA+, POC people and a bunch of randows trying to understand what they are.
Try to focus on the present moment during the party: to the movement of the bodies, to the sensations, to the colors, to the sound, to your pleasure, to the pleasure of others and leave preconceived ideas for another time.
We will scort people out in the case we find their behavior not matching with our principles. It’s ok to make mistakes, but no one is responsible for handling their consequences for you.
We will play Brazilian electronic music, there are many ways to dance it. Shaking the ass is part of it, doing erotic moves is part of how we interpret it and it corresponds to our body expression needs. You are welcome to experiment, we are holding the space for this to happen, but you can also dance in whatever way you feel like, there is no expectation that you will do it “right”. If you are afraid of cultural appropriation, it’s ok.
Suggestion/ common risks on how not to take space:
- Gay Cis white man, sometimes you take too much space and many gender dissidents feel with no space and eventually oppress by it. Let’s try to celebrate all the forms of dissidence and to hang out with each other.
- Leftists men, you are awesome and we appreciate and welcome your support, but we are tired of listening to you explaining and lecturing us. Google was already invented.
- Activists, if you are not part of the gender awareness team, care not to be feeling responsible to teach anyone how to behave, but to express care and learning capacity with anyone.
- In Amsterdam generally people feel safer if you ask permission before touching them for any purpose.
- Don’t ask where people are from, immigrants go through a lot of discrimination and it’s a pain in the ass to answer it the whole day.
WE ARE ALL AT HOME, THE PLANET EARTH. AND WE ARE ALL FROM HERE.
