VERY quick self indulgent Johnny doodle, I like to think after the Johnny ending that he has enough time before the world ends to find himself some, which leads to a few things! All of them have reasons because I cant headcanon anything without DETAILED psychological reasons to it.

1) I like to think he gets piercings not for looks but solely texture, a constant reminder to help ground him into reality that currently he isn’t trapped anymore and can live his new life (while it lasts). Being blind and having a coping mechanism (headphones) that he solely used DURING his kidnapping, it’d be more difficult to self-reassure that he is out of it all now. Especially after ten years. After such a severe traumatic event having to remind yourself that you’re out of it and can finally move out of those survival instincts and constant defense is a long and trivial task, so I like to think he fiddles with his piercings and got multiple for that self soothing and self grounding. No matter his stance on Ralph, in the end it was still a traumatic event that’ll have repercussions.

2) Onto clothes, I like to think even when its hot he wears layers, with Ralph only having a shirt and pants to wear he might subconsciously after leaving it all correlate it with being vulnerable and trapped. Having physical layers is just a subconscious rebellion against being vulnerable.

Bonus+) Though with all of this in the end being with someone for ten years is going to make you grow attached to them in some way, which leads me to a few other mini-headcanons

Bonus+) Johnny definitely would’ve made Ralph a little memorial unmarked grave, and no matter how long it would be after Ralphs passing, would of kept one of Ralphs jackets before leaving and occasionally hugs/smells it etc just from also finding comfort in it.
